I have watched many reality TV programs in the past where peaceful co-habitation was promoted. Several ladies and men from different nations put together in a house to co-habit peacefully, peace was a vital aspect of these shows, it was a taboo to engage in any physical fight with anyone in the house, any

attempt to flout this rule led to instant expulsion from the house.

The idea behind most of these programs was to promote peaceful co-existence, but despite the strict laws and the need to adhere to them to encourage peace. Some still couldn't comply with set rules because they physically engaged others in a fight which led to their immediate expulsion from the show. This simply tells me that humans just find it difficult to live peacefully with others regardless of the pleasant situation or condition even when it makes sense to do so.

Many laws of different nations of the world provided avenues for PEACE to reign in their societies. Despite these laws peace remains elusive in many instances because people just find it almost impossible to live together in peace and unity. Why is it so? Humans are naturally selfish, we prefer to promote selfish interests at all times regardless of how important it is to spread love and share material possessions with others.

Humans will promote their values, beliefs, culture ahead of those of others so they can remain relevant. This sad situation is the reason for every conflict and strife in the world as we have it today. Every race in the world is unique and G.o.d created us for specific reasons and that's why it is important for us to live together in peaces owe can make the world a better place.

There is a formula to ensure that we co-habit peacefully, it is called CONCESSION. With concession comes compromise, concession makes us cede our right to control, to oppress, to always be correct in order to exist with others devoid of conflicts. The major cause of quarrel is the desire to be right even when it isn't necessary most times.

Until we make a decision to concede the authority we have in our s.p.a.ce, either as a political leader, husband, father, military commander, boss, there won't be any form of peaceful co- habitation within our territory. One of the attributes of good leaders.h.i.+p is the measure of peace achieved while you are in charge.

I feel we should look at the attributes of concession to have a better understanding of the role it plays in peaceful co-existence and habitation.

Attributes of Concession

CONCESSION is humility. Most humans aren't humble because it appears weak to be so. Everyone wants to be in control, because you appear strong when you are in control. Unfortunately, being in control is different from trying to control or manipulate others. Until we understand this we will continue to struggle to live with others peacefully.

CONCESSION is love. When you truly love someone or some people you will concede your authority to them so they can express their feelings. Love is the only feeling that cuts across all divides. Love breaks barriers. It is the hallmark of concession.

CONCESSION is sacrifice. When you don't wish to sacrifice your time, talent and possessions to see a relations.h.i.+p work, then you aren't ready to live with others peacefully. Sacrifice is about the highest level of concession, when people deny themselves of individual rights to see others happy, there isn't any greater act of kindness than that in the world.

CONCESSION is freedom. When you allow others to have a sense of belonging, when they feel wanted and respected because you allowed them to, then you have set them free from mental and physical slavery. This will make them have a sense of grat.i.tude, it will also grant them the inner peace to be all they want to be in life. CONCESSION is purposeful leaders.h.i.+p. Anyone who wants to lead others must know the first rule of leaders.h.i.+p, without peace the leader and the led will not achieve anything. The ability of a leader to do great things exists in the level of concession he or she can grant to allow peace reign.

It is clear that when we concede our right to control or manipulate others, we can live peacefully without many issues with others. There's a lot we can achieve together if we live in peace, when we also forgive easily, co-habitation is peaceful. This is a decision we have to embrace going further to make the world a better place for us all to live in.
