Dark bags deepened under his eyes as he grabbed the handle to open his abode.
When he opened the door, silence greeted him. Since Yoona was sleeping in the other room, he programmed Gloria to not make any noise after twelve o'clock unless she was called upon. That way, there would be no disturbances while she was sleeping.
A small smile lifted on his face. To think that Yoona was here. It felt weird having someone else live in his house. He was not used to it.
Other than Secretary Kim and a few housemaids, n.o.body had stepped foot into his apartment so he was not used to having presence in his house. As he grew up, Minhyun began to prefer privacy, especially compared to being in a crowd of people. Whether or not the people were silent or loud was not the problem. He just didn't like their presence.
The automatic sensors detected his movements at the door and dimly lit the hallways.
He trudged himself all the way to his bed. While sitting on the cus.h.i.+on, he ruffled his hair messily, the strands going into every direction. After a long day of working on different projects and problems, exhausted wasn't enough to describe his condition. His eyes were half-opened; the lids on the verge of collapsing.
f.u.c.k. He just wanted to go to sleep.
Usually after work, he arrived home at around eleven. Most CEO's or powerful beings his age didn't have his exact schedule, some living in luxury while others suffered the hard work. However, Minhyun had to oversee every important event in his company. He couldn't leave the work to other people. He just didn't trust them to do it right.
Besides, MH wouldn't have grown this large without his contributions. His hard work paid off.
Plus, there were personal matters to handle. He couldn't leave those to the side.
But d.a.m.n, he really wished he could've come earlier to meet Yoona.
Minhyun took off his blazer and began to unb.u.t.ton his s.h.i.+rt. His fingers moved quickly to release the binding before he removed the white layer off of his body. He stretched his arms, the valleys of his muscles glistening against the dim light, before he walked to his closet. After changing to his pajamas, Minhyun finally walked into the sheets and covered himself within the blankets. Finally. Now, his mind could finally relax.
Despite his tired state, a small smile overcame his lips. He couldn't wait to see Yoona in the morning.
----
"Good morning!"
The aroma of delicious food seeped into his nose. As Minhyun walked into the kitchen, he was surprised to notice Yoona cooking up so food. Her hair was tied in a messy bun and there was a tight red ap.r.o.n hugging her body. She had a happy smile on her face while she waved.
On the stove, the sound of crackling came from the pan.
Minhyun furrowed his eyes as he walked towards her. "What's this?"
When he woke up, he had noticed that noise was coming from the kitchen. At first he was confused to who could possibly be up at this time, but then he realized Yoona was living in his house. The feeling was so foreign seeing someone comfortable at his abode.
She placed her hand back on the pan. "It's breakfast silly."
Breakfast? Minhyun glanced over the pan which was cooking some sausages. Then he looked over at his table, which he hadn't eaten off of since years ago, to notice two dishes full of food and utensils put into place.
Did she wake up early to prepare all this for him? From what he could tell, Yoona wasn't the greatest cook so making all this must've took a lot of time and effort.
"How early did you wake up to make this?"
There was a pause. Yoona avoiding his gaze. "It's a secret..."
He narrowed his eyes, before glancing at his motion sensor detector. "Actually, don't tell me. I can check the motion sensors to see when you came into the kitchen."
What in the world? Was this a spy movie? Yoona stopped in her tracks. An awkward giggle escaping her lips. "Mm don't waste your time doing that... Oh yeah! Sit down. There is some food on the table for you to eat!"
Topic change? Success!
Yoona watched as Minhyun began to walk over to his seat.
Once he sat down, he looked down at the foods. There was some eggs Benedict, fries, toast with a special spread, and now she was cooking sausages. Something weird arose in his heart. He gripped his chest tightly. What was this feeling? Warmth began to spread all over his body.
It was the first time, anyone had cooked him homemade food. Ever.
When he was younger, he did have personal chefs, but they were paid to make him meals. Every single time he ate, he had to pay for the work. Yet, Yoona hear was cooking because she wanted to feed him something yummy. There was a large difference.
Sure, she was probably cooking because she felt indebted to him, but the fact was, that she didn't need to. And there was also a lot more love and hard work placed in this dish. He could feel it.
This girl... Was going to kill him one day. Seriously.
"Done!" Yoona exclaimed. She brought the pan over to their dishes before placing two sausages in each of their plates. Then she put the pan into the sink.
She walked over to her seat and sat in front of Minhyun. A wink was sent his way. "I worked hard on this so you better eat it well."
Minhyun chuckled. From the bottom of his heart, the next words arose. "Thank you."
"You're welcome," she chirped while picking up her fork. "But in all seriousness, you don't actually need to eat it all. If you don't like it then just leave it."
There was no way in h.e.l.l he was going to leave anything. Even if it tasted like trash, he would eat it.
Minhyun used his fork and knife to cut the eggs Benedict before placing it into his mouth. He chewed slowly, trying to grasp the flavor. Perhaps, it wasn't the best food he'd ever eaten in his life, but there was something about it that was irresistible. He couldn't help but take another bite.
Yoona watched him happily while she ate her own. The food tasted a lot better than she expected. This was a score.
"Really good," Minhyun complimented.
A small blush appeared on her cheeks. "Thanks Mini. It's really nothing. I can do this every morning if you'd like. But different foods of course. This is a good opportunity to teach myself how to cook."
His eyes sparkled. "Yes please."
The happy smile that greeted him in the morning. The smell of wonderful food in his house. The cute laughs that echoed through the air.
It all felt like a happy dream. He could really get used to this.
