"So what are your plans sir? It doesn't look like she recognizes you," Secretary Kim whispered.
Minhyun glanced at Yoona before focusing his attention back on the conversation.
He took a sip out of his drink. "I don't mind that she doesn't. When fate allows me to, I will reveal my ident.i.ty."
Secretary Kim didn't understand his boss's logic at all. Wouldn't it be easier to tell her right away? After all, since Minhyun was the president of MH conglomerate, any person would welcome him with open arms. Especially, his childhood sweetheart.
"But isn't it better if you tell her? It'll be easier for you guys to meet and talk."
At first, Minhyun thought the same. He wanted to rekindle his relations.h.i.+p with Yoona as fast as possible. However, once he thought it through, he realized how stressed Yoona would be. He didn't want to add another layer of burden on her shoulders. Imagine the shock of finding out her childhood friend was actually a CEO. With the anxiety and hurt piled up in her, he didn't know how she would explode. She was in an emotional state right now.
Besides, she suffered a lot due to the rich society. He had to find a sure-fire way to prove that he was different from anyone else. Even though they had childhood relations, the Minhyun today and back then were different. He wanted her to be accustomed to both sides of him comfortably.
"Don't worry Kim. I have it all under control," Minhyun replied. He raised his hand to signal Yoona that they were ready to order.
Secretary Kim couldn't help but worry. Although his boss had a girlfriend and a few flings in the past, none ended well. All of them broke off due to Minhyun's cold nature. Being rich and attractive was great for attracting women, but since Minhyun never took great interest in any of them, they all left one way or another. He only dated them due to pressure. He would leave those woman in the dust
Even if his boss's feelings were somewhat reciprocated, he easily lost interest. The only person to continue in his heart was Yoona.
Therefore, Secretary Kim wasn't sure if Minhyun knew what he was doing. No matter how good he was at business, the heart of a women was another story.
Yoona walked over. "Yes. What would you like to order?"
"Beef tartare with truffle caviar," Minhyun replied. His eyes met with hers, and his heart couldn't help but skip a beat.
She blushed before facing the other customer.
"For me a squid ink tortellini please," Secretary Kim answered.
Yoona nodded. "Okay, so a beef tartare with truffle caviar and a squid ink tortellini. Thank you and please let me know if you need any a.s.sistance."
Secretary Kim sighed as he watched the young girl walk away. Since he didn't have much experience with girls, it would be hypocritical for him to give love advice. However, he was just frustrated that nothing was progressing [author's note: basically the feeling of all the readers right now].
While waiting for the food, Secretary Kim heard his phone ringing on the table. The caller was one of the secret Intel for the company - someone who dealt with gathering suspicious information about their compet.i.tors. In other words, a detective who gathered information about people the CEO needed to look out for. Currently, they also gathered information about Yoona to keep the boss updated, although it wasn't as intensive as their normal operations.
"h.e.l.lo?" Secretary Kim began.
"We currently found a video on social media pertaining Yoona. A terrible event happened this morning. Boss is going to want to see this."
Secretary Kim could feel his blood freezing. He had a bad feeling about this. "Sent it over," he said with a gulp.
The call was hung up and he waited for the video to come. When it was received in his email, Secretary Kim pa.s.sed the device to his superior with a pair of Bluetooth headphones.
"The video was posted today and it concerns Yoona."
Minhyun nodded, curious about the contents, before pressing play.
His eyes narrowed; fists turning white as he watched the whole clip. He was unbelievably p.i.s.sed off.
Public humiliation was enough, but now did they have to make her suffer this type of bullying? She was getting covered in flour, mocked by all the students in the room. This was disgusting. And to think she was smiling and treating them well a few minutes ago. This was not what Minhyun was expecting.
Throughout the whole dinner, he was silent. No words exiting his mouth except for a few thank yous.
The tense atmosphere made Secretary Kim want to run out of the restaurant. He couldn't handle this type of anger from his boss.
"Paper," Minhyun suddenly said. It caught Secretary Kim by surprise.
Secretary Kim quickly nodded before bringing out some paper and a pen from his leather bag. Minhyun quickly took the two supplies and began writing a note. No emotions flashed on his face as he continued writing.
When it was time to pay, Minhyun diligently swiped his card through the machine. He also added the tip he wanted to offer Yoona.
Just before she could leave, he spoke: "For you."
A piece of paper was pa.s.sed her way.
She widened her eyes in surprise, wondering what contents the note could possibly hold. She thanked the two men and before she knew it, the two exited the place.
As she walked back to the kitchen she unraveled the note to see its contents.
"Thank you for the wonderful service. I want to wish you the best," she read.
Yoona smiled. What a nice fellow. She wasn't expecting something sweet. She was also surprised that there was no number attached anywhere. It didn't look like the men had other intentions when writing to her.
When she looked down at her receipt however, Yoona was about to faint in shock.
She couldn't believe it.
The customer who left had given her the biggest tip she's ever seen in her entire life.
Ten thousand dollars.
She thought big tips like this were only found on the internet or in movies. This was absolutely absurd. She was going to cry.
Yoona quickly ran outside to the streets. She spun around, trying to find the two mysterious men. However, they were nowhere to be seen. No trace of their presence.
She looked down at the receipt as her heart raced. Although she wasn't able to thank them properly, at the bottom of her heart she let out a small prayer of blessing.
They couldn't have possibly known how much this money would help her.
Yoona made sure to remember the face of the beautiful customer. One day, if they were to meet in the future, she was going to thank them.
Little did she know, that the next time she would see him, would be the next day.
