Rychil: Was opportunity available during 1973? *thinking emoticon*
Xandarx: @Rychil WHATTT!? Opportunity is everywhere! Just grasp the internet and you can instantly become richest.
Rychil: 1973??
Xandarx: You know in that year. Many great companies are not yet established. Like Apple, Amazon, Microsoft. Do You understand what I mean?
Transcendent: And KFC no?
'KFC in 1973?'
Xandarx: Lol. Kfc established very early. Like in 1900s.
Rychil: I see.
Transcendent: That's a great opportunity.
Xandarx: And my mc is genius comparable to Einstein.
Transcendent: Ok. I was suggesting in goodwill that you know very clearly what he is good at. Knowing your MC is crucial to write a great character.
Rychil: So if I understand. Your MC got reborn not transmigrated into 1973. Where he wants to bring the good things in 2000s Into that era?
Xandarx: Yes, something like that.
Transcendent: You can have an intelligent MC. Excelling in War Strategies failing in Calculus. That's still intelligent.
Murakami: Seems artificial.
Xandarx: Lol @Murakami_Takai *joy emoticon* Well I think about it again. Maybe it's a bad idea.
Transcendent: Decide the reader base before you start writing.
Xandarx: I guess I rather stick to my writing then.
Rychil: Well, I haven't read it though. But honestly from the synopsis and cover *thinking emoticon*
Xandarx: Yeah I know. It didn't fit. *frown emoticon*
Transcendent: It gives the vibes of a wish-fulfillment harem to be honest.
Elyon watched his senior authors help Xandarx by giving their views about his story. Sometimes, authors are harsher critics than readers and Elyon learned first hand on how to be on the receiving end of such criticisms.
There was a senior author who was kind enough to tell him that he needs to fix his grammar and learn how to use tenses properly.
--------------------------
[A/N: Let it be known that I watched youtube videos and studied properly on how to use tenses! I have improved! I think? Maybe! Possibly? Guys what do you think? Did I Improve?]
[Fellow Authors: You still suck! Find an editor!]
"To be perfectly honest, I'm stopping myself from writing a novel that will turn all the heart of the ladies into mush" Elyon praised himself for his self-control.
[A Certain Cat Author: Nya~ Dream on Nya~]
"Tis a diabolical weapon. Stronger than a nuke!" Elyon kept on boasting.
[A Certain Wikipedia Author: The only thing that is diabolical here is your tenses!]
--------------------------
Among the authors that he had seen so far, Xandarx strikes him as a very diligent author and his drive to reach the top is amazing. His novel is currently getting popular and perhaps, it won't be long before it reaches the top ranks in Webnovel.
His novel is called "Rebirth 1973."

Elyon scrolled down to read some of the reviews.
[G.o.d damm amazing book and an amazing author. The author can pump out chapters regularly like crazy. Highly recommend if you want smart and rich mc. Watch as mc takes over the modern world.]
'Yes, the author is amazing. You should see him in the chatroom lmao!'
[The grammar wouldn't deserve 5 stars but the story it is too good to not receive full votes... Author you did a great job hope you won't drop it]
'I hope that he won't drop it as well!'
[Wow, really great ideas here! I'm impressed with the novelty and the direction in which you're heading.
The writing quality is not the strongest because of the tenses and the grammar, but that's always a challenge. It's difficult to get through in the beginning, but once you're used to the flow, the plot is engaging!
Your characters are quite interesting and you get a very quick introduction, which drew me in.]
'Yes. I believe if he gets an editor the story will be able to unleash its full potential!'
Elyon went back to the discord chatroom and checked the comments of the other authors.
Murakami: This is the kind of thing you should decide before you start writing. lol
Rychil: Not really. Your ideas change later on. At least it happened to me
Murakami: True, but that's why you need an outline. Also, the WN philosophy of writing then releasing and releasing chap by chap means that you'll often have to ditch ideas that would have been good. bcos the start of your novel wasn't geared towards that which is what I mean by "WN culture is bad for writers who want to write professionally."
'As expected of Wikipedia!'
Rychil: Yeah. I always change my outline based on the comments of my readers. After all, they're the one reading. You've to satisfy them.
Nix.x.xiE (sєʀєи∂ɨρɨтγ_ɑςє): @Rychil you have to learn how to tune out those kinds of comments... you started writing because you like it... you can't change every time your reader says something.
Remember those who comment on your chapter are only a percentage of your total readers.. you can't satisfy everyone... as they will always have different preferences.
[Nix.x.xiE (sєʀєи∂ɨρɨтγ_ɑςє) is one of the mods of the server. She's a very nice "onee-chan" and gives good advice whenever she feels like it.]
Xandarx: Yes. Although I'm satisfying my reader, but I'm satisfying them with my writing.
Nix.x.xiE (sєʀєи∂ɨρɨтγ_ɑςє): Imagine writing a whole plot and you have 100 readers, 5 of them complain for how the story is going... are you going to change your plot just because they complained? what about those 95 people? what about what you really liked to write?
Murakami: ^ preach.
Xandarx: Great sage.
Nix.x.xiE (sєʀєи∂ɨρɨтγ_ɑςє): Your story. your plot. your rules.. your timeline.. if they don't like it. They don't have to read it... we can't always please everyone…
Elyon: *nods in approval*
It's good to listen to the comments of the readers from time to time, but writers should also stick to the layout they have in mind. If they were to change their story for every comment that their readers give them, then they wouldn't accomplish anything.
It wouldn't be their story anymore, it will be the story of their readers. This happens often, especially with new authors who just started writing their stories.
Rychil06: @Nix.x.xiE (sєʀєи∂ɨρɨтγ_ɑςє) Well. Yeah. It was kinda depressing at first. Now, I just read and be like "Why can't they just get me!?" *rolling eyes emoticon*
Xandarx: Teach our lost self oh my mighty master.
Nix.x.xiE (sєʀєи∂ɨρɨтγ_ɑςє): @Rychil I got a bit sad that one time too... until I learned to just shut them out... comments are entertaining but they can be hurtful too... If you listen to them too much, they will start thinking that they have control over your story.
Xandarx: Hail Hydra!
Nix.x.xiE (sєʀєи∂ɨρɨтγ_ɑςє): And that's what you don't want to happen... if they have nice ideas, that's good for you but if they complain and all and it's not helping you especially since you already have a plot, try to ignore and move on. continue what you planned. you would sleep better knowing that your story went the way you wanted it to be
Rychil: I was so sad from his harsh words. I took one week break.
'Poor Rychil.'
The conversation continued and I learned a lot from this discussion. Authors should learn to accept criticisms, but they should also learn to s.h.i.+eld themselves from those who want to tell them how their story should be told.
If they were to follow every whim of their readers, then the story will no longer be their own.
Elyon was about to leave when someone appeared in the chatroom. It was one of the authors that inspired him to write a novel of his own. It was AuthorWiz, the one who wrote [Reborn: Evolving From Nothing.]
