"Good morning, Boss!" Bea smiled as she and Clark with Sheen enter in the elevator.
Clark nodded with a smile while Sheen was surprised to see Bea.
"What are you doing here? You only spent your vacation for a honeymoon? I thought you're on maternity leave as well?" Sheen asks and looks at Clark for clarification.
"Yeah, but I missed everyone so much. I can take the leave two weeks before my due date."
Clark sighs, he already tried persuading Bea last week to continue her leave but here she is, working with them until the end.
Sheen sighs and worriedly looks at Bea, "By the way, how's Dan?"
"Oh, he has to take care of things in his hometown but he'll come back tomorrow."
Bea looks at Clark who seems to keep on sighing every now and then.
She leans to Sheen and whispered: "Hey, what happened to Boss?"
"Well, there were some problems in the company but I think we're handling it alright."
Bea nods slowly, she heard about it from Dan but she never thought that it can stress her boss this much.
He never really shows emotions before Sheen came, but it worries her that he's getting worried this much.
"See you later," Bea waves her hand as she walks to her office.
"She should take a break, really," Sheen smiles and waves back as the elevator closes.
"Have you heard anything from Wyn? Some of our clients are transferring some of their deferred projects to their company," Clark said in a cold tone while his eyes looked annoyed.
Sheen frown, since Bea's wedding, all he talked about is the conflict between the companies, he never found time for her or Cj.
It also made her think that the time with Clark in the pool party will be the last fun time with him for a long time.
"Sheen?" Clark called since Sheen was too caught up in her thoughts that she forgot to reply.
"What? Uh," Sheen looks at Clark.
His gaze looks angry and it made her feel chills, "Yeah... I... haven't talked to him since the wedding."
She looks away as the elevator opens.
Clark walks away first, "Send me the files I need for today's meeting."
Sheen followed him but she stopped in front of the elevator and watches Clark walks away.
She bites her lips as she suddenly felt the nostalgia.
This feels like how she felt during her first day on the company.
Clark was someone she doesn't know, someone far away, someone she will never reach, someone who will never look her way.
"Yes, Sir..." She whispered and went to her office to prepare the files.
Clark looks back as he unlocks his office and saw Sheen walking away.
He bitterly clicked his tongue.
'This is the reason why I never dated anyone, I can't help but get focused on work especially if there are problems,' he thought and went inside.
He knows he's been neglecting Sheen since he found out about Wyn's company.
It's rising so fast and Star Company can lose if he won't do anything.
He wasn't even able to react when they found out the production company dropped Sheen's movie adaption.
He just directly focused himself on gaining more popularity and power than Wyn.
Sheen's phone suddenly rang as she checks the file, it's Wyn.
She sighs and accepted the call, "Yeah?" she said in a cold and annoying voice.
"Woah, are you alright?" Wyn asks.
Sheen paused, she suddenly realized that she's getting too affected by Clark's actions.
"Sorry, I'm just tired," she excused.
"Oh, I know it's my fault. Anyway, Aria called me last night. And about your book, I'm already working on it, don't worry."
"What did she say?"
"She said she found out something that can bring Clark down. Clark. Not the company."
Sheen stands up and stares outside, the city, the cloudy sky, the fog that is slowly covering the mountains... it made her mind go blank.
"I don't know. But, Sheen, I'll tell you as soon as I find out so you can prepare. Anyways, I am sorry for taking your clients. I mean, I dropped the stealing your men. It's just, we're really good." Wyn chuckles, sounding so proud of himself.
Sheen smiled, "Yeah, I know. Thanks. Have you talked to your father?"
She knows Wyn's not playing the dirty. Even though Aria wanted to help him, he rejected her offer and played clean.
He knows her father will only be disappointed if he finds out that he's stealing his brother's hard work.
"Not yet, but Mother said that he sounded proud the last time they talked about me."
"That's good to hear, Wyn."
She suddenly felt her cheeks go cold.
She wipes it with her hand and realized that she's crying.
Wyn heard her sob, "Hey..."
Sheen sniffs, "I'm sorry. I just miss Clark. We're not talking normally since the wedding. He's not looking at me. He's not smiling. I didn't fully realize how workaholic he is until now."
"Are you...sad?" Wyn asks.
"Maybe... yeah, I am Wyn. I am. I feel lonely." Sheen whispers.
"Do you want to talk? We can eat in Bea's place, she just invited me over earlier. And we will keep this as a secret this time. No one will know."
"Really?" Sheen snorted, "Why not. I do need my friends."
She suddenly heard a knock on the door, "Wyn, see you later. Bye." she said and turned off the call.
She hurriedly wipes her eyes and checks her face in her phone before going to the door.
She saw Louis, standing with a file on his hand.
She looks at him weirdly, "Yes?"
Louis smiled, "Can I go in?" he asks and points inside the office.
Sheen steps back, "Yeah," she answered as she watches Louis enter.
"Oh, your office feels warm," Louis complimented and sits down.
Sheen furrows her brows, "Thanks? Anyway, why are you here?" she asks and went to make coffee, "Coffee?"
Louis shakes his head, "No. Sheen, why do you like Mr. White?"
Sheen stops stirring her coffee, "What do you mean?"
Louis put the file on her table and stands up, walking behind Sheen, standing close to her.
"What's with Mr. White? Why not Mr. Kady, Mr. Lee? Mr. Blue. They are all quite good candidates as partners. Why someone shady and quite... cold."
Sheen gulps, she knows Louis' standing behind her and if she turns around, she'll be in an awkward position.
"Why are you asking? And you're sounding like you don't like Mr. White."
"Oh, no. No. I like him as a boss. We have a good salary and benefits. The workplace and environment are also great. No problem with that. I just hate someone who pushes his own family away. Someone who hates his blood."
"Why?" Sheen asks and turns around instinctively.
Her face is a few inches from Louis.
She suddenly felt her breath being taken away by the guy who she crowned with the bad boy character the moment she laid eyes on him.
But she can't forget that she used to be smitten by him.
"Is that a blush on your face, Sheen?"
Louis cracks into a burst of laughter.
"I didn't know you can be easily swayed," he said in between laughs which made Sheen look at him in disgust.
"What? Swayed?" Sheen snorted and crossed her arms.
She kinds of feeling anxious and scared but she can't let this psycho get through her.
"Why are you here?" Sheen asks.
Louis looks at her, she's serious, he stops laughing and leans on the sofa behind him.
"Sorry, how rude of me. I know you're busy. Well," Louis stared at Sheen with a devilish smile, "I know at the back of your mind, how can Aria know things in the company when she hasn't been here."
Sheen's eyes went wide.
It's true.
She already had the thought a long time before that someone might be working for her inside the company.
"Well, tda!" Louis stands up and turns around, "Here I am."
If Sheen's not irritated by now, she might be taking in a note how this bad boy character with a good looking face made that turn with such a devilish smile, almost making him look like a psycho.
She clicked her tongue, "So? What are you trying to do? You're just revealing yourself."
Louis tilted his head, "Hm? Do you think you can tell Mr. White about me? He's not even listening to you. All he wants to know is how the company's doing right now. How can we keep us against Mr. Lee."
Sheen looks at him with dead eyes, "What about the files on my table?"
Louis looked at the files he put on her table and smiles, "Oh, that? Hm..." he looked back at Sheen, "You can read it. But right now, it might be on the T.V. and newspaper already."
Louis stands up and walks toward Sheen, leaning to her right side.
"You know, writers and comic artists make the greatest couple. We make your imaginations come true," he whispered.
Sheen moves away "You're crazy," she said with a glare.
"Oh, that hurts, darling," Louis smirks, "You and I are the same, to be honest."
He walks to her desks and took her picture frame and stared at it.
"I was used by people..." he said while remembering how he grew up to be a drug runner by his family, "And they hurt me... so bad," he continued.
Sheen watches Louis' facial expression change, from looking like a psycho, he looks like how she used to look before. Lonely. Hurt.
"I tried to act tough to survive but I can't anymore," Louis puts down the picture frame and looks at the files he brought.
"Aria is Mr. White's sister, how can he be so cruel to her?" Louis asks with a bitter look as if he's taking the pain for Aria.
Sheen frowns, "Where is this coming from, Louis?"
Louis stared at Sheen with a painful expression, "I thought Mr. White was kind, I looked up to him. I had a new life when he takes me into work. I love drawing, I do." Louis stands up and walks towards the door.
"But he's not a good family. And I hate it, you can tell him about what I am doing. I don't care anymore. I know he won't forgive me. I know you won't forgive me."
Sheen ran to Louis before he opens the door and held his hand, "Hey, can we talk about this later? I need to... know what is happening."
Louis sneers, "You won't do that after you read the files I gave you."
"I don't care," Sheen said and held Louis' hand tighter, "I don't want to talk about this. I want to talk about you."
"Why?" Louis looks at Sheen.
"Because..." Sheen sighs, she doesn't really know why she wants to, she just wants to help, "I know what you're going through. Maybe I can help."
"Why? To destroy me? To step on me?" Louis pulls his hand.
"No!" Sheen looks away, "I... guess I can be someone who I needed before. Someone who will listen and help."
Louis froze before Aria and Wyn had an agreement to destroy Star Company, he was just working for Aria to help her get closer to Clark.
But now that she's on the road to hurt people, the company he saw as home, his co-workers he saw as a family, he wants to back-out.
But he can't. Aria will hurt everyone if he did that.
"Can I trust you?" Louis asks.
Sheen nodded, "Yes. I will help you. Don't worry, just continue making the writers' imaginations come alive."
Louis smiled, "Then, we'll talk."
Louis opened the door and left.
Sheen leans on the door while slowly sliding down, everything's already messed up and knowing that Louis helps Aria destroy the company, she suddenly felt tired.
She didn't notice that she already fell asleep until she heard Clark's voice outside, knocking on the door.
She sighs and stands up, opening the door, "Hey," she whispered.
Clark looks at her with worried eyes, "What happened? Are you alright?"
Sheen looks at him, he's about to use the keys to open her office, she chuckles, "Yeah, I just fell asleep."
Clark sighs, "What am I going to do with you?" He went inside and hugs Sheen tightly, burying his face on her shoulder.
"I was worried," he whispers.
Sheen wasn't able to reach immediately.
But as she feels Clark's breath, she smiled and hugs him back.
"I missed you." She whispers.
"Do you want to go out and have lunch together?" Clark asks.
"Don't you have a meeting?" Sheen looks at her watch, "In 30 minutes?"
"No, I asked someone to attend it for me. I'm tired," Clark said as they both walk in the office and closed the door while still in each other's embrace.
"I see... Do I have to give the files then?" Sheen asks as Clark pulls her towards the couch.
"No, it's fine," Clark answers as he sits on the couch while pulling Sheen to sit on his lap.
Sheen chuckles, "It will take time before I get used to this kind of closeness," she whispers as Clark let her go.
"You should get used to it now, I just found out I'm a bit clingy when it comes to you," Clark smirks.
Sheen pushes herself to see Clark's face, "You're... hot when you're tired," she suddenly mumbles, making her blush as she realizes what she just said.
Clark's messed hair and half-closed eyes made her heart beat fast.
"You look hot when you just woke up," Clark throws to his embarra.s.sed fiancee.
It's rare for them to see each other vulnerable, it's new and refres.h.i.+ng.
"I love you," Sheen said and went to bury her face in Clark's chest.
"I love you more," Clark replied as his hand lands on Sheen's head and back, caressing her softly.
"Thank G.o.d I wore slacks, this position is will be awkward if I'm wearing a skirt," Sheen said with her eyes closed as she sways her hanging right leg.
Sheen suddenly saw the file on her desk brought by Louis, she felt the uneasiness, but now, she wants to stay longer in Clark's embrace.
