It's past 9 P.M. but Clark still looks like he just woke up with his lively energy due to the date he prepared himself.
The moment he opened his eyes, his heart can't be at ease thinking that this will be their first formal date.
Sheen looks at him weirdly while slowly putting her phone in her bag, "Why are you looking like that? What's that smile about?" She asks with a slight smile on her face. While looking at Clark, she can't help but feel his happiness though she does not why he acts this way.
Clark flinched but he did not show Sheen, seems like she forgot about the date and he's now acting weird in her eyes.
He walks towards her with the same smile, "Seems like I should cut your salary for this month," he said as he lowers his gaze to meet her eyes while wrapping his arms around her waist.
"What? What did I do?" Sheen asks while turning around to face him, "But what's that smile about?" She asks faintly with a smirk on her lips while hugging him back.
"Well, we have a schedule for this night, don't we?" Clark said as his face slowly moves towards Sheen's face, "And you seem to have forgotten about it."
Sheen's eyes went wide, "Oh my goodness! I am sorry!" she frowns, "I am sorry! I was too occupied by Wyn and... ugh, sorry. But it's not yet that late right? We can still have our date, right?" She asks while tilting her head with a pout.
Clark looks away, "I am sorry but we can't," he suddenly went cold, 'You've been thinking about Gerwyn all day and you forgot about our date, how unpleasant,' he thought and let Sheen go.
Sheen tightens her hug and pouts even more, "Hey! We just finished fighting and now you're like that, reallyyyyy?"
Clark's avoids her eyes, his hands hanging free beside him, making Sheen feel even worse.
"Okay, whatever, I'm so done with your att.i.tude," Sheen whispered and moves to get her bag, 'Come on, you're not letting me go I know,' she thought as she hides her smirk while walking towards the door.
She wants him to run after her, but Clark didn't even move from his spot until she went out of the room, he's just looking outside, letting her go.
'Really? I just forgot about it,' Sheen thought in a blank face, 'What did you even prepare to be angry over me forgetting about the date?' She looks at the staircase going to the garden on the upper floor where they have talked to spend time.
She takes another look at Clark, 'He's just annoyed that I forgot,' she thought and went upstairs.
The moonlight greeted her as a soft cold breeze touch her skin, where she saw the Wisteria tree with lights gleaming over the table set under it. There are also scattered rose petals on the floor leading to the table.
She heard voices from a room on the floor and saw a waitress and some musicians, making her giggle, 'Aw, no wonder he got so angry,' she said and walks towards the table.
The smell of the delicious food made her stomach growl, "Where is he? I am hungry," she whispered while looking back at the stairs, expecting to see him going up yet the stairs makes no sound.
Sheen sighs as she walks towards the table and then pulls the chair and sits down, "Guys, the date's not going to happen but can I please have something to eat? I am going to die of hunger here~" she said in a loud voice, making the waitress went out of the room and went to check on her.
Her stomach ruled over her head making her grumpy over him taking his time.
"Ma'am, please wait for another minute, I am sure Mister White will arrive," the waitress said as she offers Sheen a gla.s.s of water.
"No, he won't. He was angry because I forgot about the date," Sheen answered as she took a sip of the water.
The waitress just smiled at her and went back to the room.
"Really, I am going home if he won't arrive after a minute," Sheen whispered and took her phone out and checked on her seen message to Wyn, 'What did I do?' she thought then went to compose another message saying that she wants to see him tomorrow but suddenly she heard a piece of sweet music being played as the musicians went out of the room.
She turned her head to see what is happening and saw the musicians in a line while the waitress and waiter pull out tray trolleys with food in it.
But what caught most of her attention is the man walking towards her, Clark looks like he's floating on the rose petals with a bouquet on his arms while wearing a sweet smile on his face.
'I thought he won't continue the date,' she thought and smiled back at him.
She stands up to greet him but he stops walking a meter away from her then he clears his throat. She noticed Mr. Rogers with the waitress looking at them with a happy face.
"I am sorry about earlier, I was just so excited that I suddenly felt down when you forgot," Clark said with a slight blush.
"I know," she answered, "I am sorry."
Clark gave her the bouquet as a familiar song plays, making Sheen look at the musicians then her eyes went wide and stared at Clark, "That's...." her lips smiled widely as her hands take the bouquet.
"You always sing that when we were young, right? Kiss Me, that song is really a virus in your mind, though I notice you don't hum or sing it that much," suddenly both of them giggled when they remembered Sheen has a video singing in Clark's phone.
She tiptoes to reach Clark's cheeks, laying her soft lips on his skin, catching him off guard.
"That's for me forgetting this date. A literal 'kiss me'." She said.
Clark just stares at her for a moment, his heart suddenly beats thunders as his face felt like a volcano ready to burst from the hotness, "Why don't we sit down?" he asks, waking himself up from the blush he just had and went to pull Sheen's chair.
"I know you are hungry now," he said as he looks at the waitress as he sits down, nodding his head to make them serve the food.
"Yeah, I am. I thought I should eat already because you won't arrive," Sheen said as she watches the waitress serve their food.
Clark looks at her in a surprised face, "You're planning to eat before I arrive?"
"Yeah," she nods, "Why not? You seem grumpy and I thought it's a waste if I don't eat anything from what you prepared."
"You're really that hungry, huh," Clark laughs, "Well, I was grumpy, yes, but not only because you forgot but because you forgot because you are thinking of another man."
Sheen froze while holding the spoon and she slowly looks at Clark with an entertained expression, "You're jealous?"
Clark took his own utensils and starts to dig in, "Can't I?" he asks while chewing.
She stared at him for a while in awe while happiness suddenly embraces her upon finding out he is being jealous, "You don't talk when your mouth is full, right?" Sheen giggles.
It somehow made her feel at ease that Clark can feel jealousy for her, a sign that he is really in love with her yet it still makes her feel uneasy.
Gerwyn is still out there, trying to avoid her for reasons that she doesn't know.
As she thinks back about Wyn, Clark noticed that her smile is still on her face but she's frowning, indicating that she's thinking of another thing that upsets her - which is Gerwyn.
He clears his throat, "I was planning to have a vacation next week. Where do you want to go?" he asks, trying to divert her thoughts.
"I would like that but I think if we spend a vacation, there will be loads of papers for you to sign when we come back."
"It can wait. Where do you want to go?"
Sheen looks at Clark with a blank face, her mind can't think of any place. It's too exhausted to roam around the world to think of a vacation spot.
Clark noticed this with her sighs, "What about on the Lion Coast? The beach was highly recommended when I searched on it the last time."
"If you really want to, then Lion coast it is," Sheen replied with a monotonous voice while trying out the desert.
"You eat fast, you know," Clark started, noticing that she had finished her meal and went straight for sweets. "Then I'll just have to schedule when."
"Yeah."
"You're tired?"
"No."
"Can you stop thinking about Gerwyn?" Clark suddenly blurted out with a quite loud voice, making Mr. Rogers look at him with a furrowed brows.
The old man knows that Mr. White never loses his temper.
Clark sighs, "I'm sorry. But I just can't stand you being cold and lifeless during our date. From what I know, I was the first one to reserve for your time, not Gerwyn."
Sheen stared at him in surprise, "I'm sorry."
"Here we go again with your apologies. Can you just forget about that man and focus on me? On our date? Now?" Clark clasps his face and sighs, "Please, just give me this time. You can worry later."
"I... Yeah." Sheen smiled and composed herself.
Clark looks at her in terror, 'She's faking her smile,' he thought.
"Listen," Clark said faintly almost like a whisper, "I know that it bothers you so much. I know." His words are soft and comforting though it is quite painful for Sheen to hear. "But, I'm sorry I can't help but ... I don't know what I feel, I just want your attention because I planned so hard about this date. I was so worried that you wouldn't like it. It's so hard to know what you want. I was so worried that when you forgot about it I thought I shouldn't continue but when I remembered that I love you, I know that just to spend time with you is enough."
Sheen looks at him with a frown, "I know. I mean, I am sorry. Thank you for doing this, Clark. Thank you and just so you know, I like it so much." Sheen smiled genuinely while looking at the Wisteria tree.
"So please?" Clark placed his hand over Sheen's hand, "Spend time with me?"
Sheen smiled and nods, "Yes, I will."
Gerwyn opened the files he receives from one of his men, containing some of the names of Star Company's business partners.
With a slight grin he said, "If that company goes down, Sheen will choose me over that poor colorless man."
