The angry shout echoed inside the silent ornate inspired room where two people seating opposite each other remained at a deadlock.
The handsome man with white hair and gentleman's beard was seating on a comfortable, intricately carved wooden couch, staring at the person in front of him with narrowed eyes, controlling his agitation and restlessness.
While the person opposite him remained calm and aloof, emanating maturity and intelligence far beyond her age, like a Queen looking down upon the word in her high throne.
"You heard me. I want you to sign this papers stating that from now on and in the future, you and I are nothing more than strangers. A business partner." The cold woman smiled like there was nothing wrong to what she said. The smile was so beautiful and mesmerizing, but somehow, it caused the heart to freeze.
"You can't do this! You are my daughter!! I am your father!" The man could no longer contain his temper and lashed out at his estranged daughter.
The beautiful woman continued to smile without any hint of contortion on her lovely icy cold face.
"So you do remember that I am your daughter and that you are my father."
The young woman secretly smirked when the man wavered as he avoided her piercing gaze.
"Y-you can't do this! What gives you the right to treat me this way?!"
The young woman tilted her head while her hand in elegant, stylish colored nails held her chin while crossing her long shapely smooth, flawless legs.
"Well then, Father... let me narrate to you what gives me the right. Firstly, you've never been a father to me. You're just a man that impregnated my mother."
"Y-you---!"
The man's face turned white then red, fuming with anger as he pointed at the young woman with shaking finger.
The young woman raised her hand to stop the man from finis.h.i.+ng his sentence.
"Secondly, don't forget who it is who made your empire grow to where it is now."
The young woman inwardly sneered when the man broke out into cold sweat.
The man knew exactly who it was that turned his little department store business into a ma.s.sive global international scale brand, FROZEN. From the simple toys to clothes, to pieces of jewelry down to the latest market fas.h.i.+on trends. His estranged daughter had been blessed with G.o.dly insights of what is beautiful, cute and pleasing to the eyes ever since she was young.
That was why he was firmly against in having her escaped his grasp. He needed her for his empire to flourish.
Like the young woman read his thoughts. She smiled mockingly at him.
"Tell you what, I'll just drop this whole charade and won't even mention how my mother died alone on her deathbed while you go whoring around with your mistresses, and won't even mention you getting remarried just after a month from her burial," she innocently narrated as she straightened her back and held each hand on top of her lap like a prim and proper lady. Like a Queen that was about to pa.s.s judgment.
"If you had read till the end, you will see that I will still do my responsibilities as a forty percent stakeholder of the business empire. I will still pick out what will work and what will be the next trends. All I'm asking is that, I want you and me from now on… to become strangers. Isn't that what you always wanted?"
The girl smiled widely showing her perfect pearly white teeth. A smile that every man would fall for. Even he was momentarily hypnotized.
The man composed himself and breathed a sigh of relief.
That was right, that was what he had always wanted.
For this daughter of his to get out of his life. She was like a thorn that he couldn't get rid of when he remarried his now current wife.
His new wife is a charming young woman who is pregnant with his son. He so dearly loved his new wife so much so that everything his wife wanted, he would give it, served on golden platters.
Only this girl, this so-called daughter of his, he couldn't get rid so easily. Thus, he made another mansion just for his new wife and their soon to be son – leaving his estranged daughter to fed on her own.
The man hurriedly read the doc.u.ments, and accurate enough, his daughter would still help out in the company. But then again, there was still an unwillingness inside him, not because of his fatherly instincts, but because of the earth-shattering forty percent shares she held in his empire.
The one his late wife owned was just a messily twenty percent. But now that she was dead, all her belongings and shares even this mansion on top of the hill were transferred to her only daughter. But only if her daughter turned of legal age of eighteen, and now was that day.
He was unwilling to let it go. Combining the shares with his late wife, his daughter now owns forty percent! Much more significant than his thirty percent while he was the one who labored day in and day out for his empire to grow! While all his daughter did was pick out what would become the latest trends among the presented samples of designs that came from the very minds of his own employees. Just tweaking it a bit to conform to her liking.
He could buy the shares from other shareholders, but are they willing to sell?
With FROZEN as one of the top global brands in the world, no one in their right mind would sell a healthy milking cow.
Many times that he was tempted to kill his daughter so all of those that she owned would belong to him. However, he knew that he still needed her. Without her, his empire would crumble.
All that wealth that could rival royalties. All that power that could mobilized even the government to heed his every beck and call. All that fame that would put any celebrity to shame.
Gone!
Disappear!
The moment that she too disappeared.
With a heavy sigh and an unwilling heart, he signed his name.
"Splendid! It's nice doing business with you, Mr. Krisnov."
The man frowned. She didn't waste any time on making him feel that he was no longer her father but just a business partner.
The young woman stood up, flas.h.i.+ng him a stunning smile before grabbing the doc.u.ments and sashayed out of the room.
"Evangeline!"
The man shouted before he could even think why he had called for her.
The young woman stopped and slowly turned to look at him with dead cold eyes but smiling lips that left him shuddering.
"From now on, call me Miss Heart."
