When Lia returned back to Mrs. Beth's office. She noticed her mother, Giselle and Mrs. Beth were enjoying Tea and snacks. She smiled cunningly as she entered.
"What happened Lia? Did you like the school already?" Giselle enquired immediately.
"No mom, it's just that I see you're enjoying your tea and snacks." Lia smiled again. This time she tried to hold back her laughter. She didn't want to reveal her sweet adventure in front of Mrs. Beth. However, Lia seemed to be restless. She wanted to tell her mother about meeting new friends and eating Lucky treats with them. But, the environment may be not suitable. Lia panicked for a moment. If she shared it with her mom and Mrs. Beth, it might bring in a bad image about Jessica, Stephanie, and Andy. So, Lia waited for her time.
"So, dear, do you want to study here?" Mrs. Beth asked curiously.
Lia looked at her mother. A few seconds later, she smiled and replied, "Yes, I do."
Giselle's face lit up as she heard that. Everyone felt happy. Mrs. Beth asked Lia to take her seat and then offered her some cookies.
For the next few minutes, Mrs. Beth explained all the details about the application process, fees payment, time schedule and etc. Giselle listened to them attentively and often took down notes for some important dates and information. Later, Mrs. Beth handed out the application form to Giselle and asked her to fill it. Giselle spent the next few minutes filling up the application form. Often she asked doubts and clarified some of the fields. Mrs. Beth helped her patiently. All this time, Lia paid attention to every single thing her mother did. She didn't disturb her but carefully watched her completing the form and listened to everything Mrs. Beth talked about the school. By the end of the lunch hour, Giselle finished all of the paperwork and waited for confirmation. Mrs. Beth speeded up the process and worked quickly to give Lia a starting date.
"Here you go, I did everything. It's official. Lia will be a student in here at Edward Harris Elementary school. And you will be joining on Wednesday." Mrs. Beth revealed.
"Wednesday. That's the day after tomorrow!!!" Giselle gasped. It's soon. But she didn't express it out loud. Her main concern is Lia starting her school without wasting any time. And it did happen. Mrs. Beth a.s.sured her to help and Giselle felt confident.
After their work got over, Giselle and Lia decided to leave. Mrs. Beth requested them to have lunch together since they skipped it for the process. Giselle declined it graciously. She had a lot on her hands right now. And Giselle doesn't want to waste a minute.
She thanked Mrs. Beth for everything and left the place. Later on their way back home, Giselle bought lunch for both of them. They both returned home, had their lunch and Lia went to her room. Giselle prepared the list of things Lia might need for her school. In between her work, She texted Lia's father Ethan Ruz about Lia's new school. Immediately after a minute or so, Giselle received a text. A reply from Lia's father Ethan.
Ethan Ruz- 4:03 PM
Ugh, my baby girl is going to attend the new school. d.a.m.n, I got a deadline to take care of. Giselle!!! make sure to remind me. I want to talk with my baby before she goes to her new school. *crying emoji* Well, if it isn't her super mom who worked hard for it. Well done Giselle. I'm proud of you. You guys make sure to send me pictures. Aargh!!! I have to go now. Bye Giselle. Take care and eat well. Give Lia my love and kisses. Love you girls. Talk to you soon.
Giselle smiled. She left her phone and went to Lia's room. Lia seemed to be working on re-arranging her room for the new school. She looked at her mother and then returned back without any reaction. Giselle was triggered.
'How dare she avoid my presence? Hmph, it's definitely not from Ethan. I guess, my daughter did take some of my traits.' - Giselle thought to herself.
Soon, she approached Lia from behind to hug her and then lifted her high.
"Mom, you don't need to do these stunts. You're not strong enough to lift me." Lia pleaded.
Giselle's nerve hit. Her own daughter is teasing her. This is definitely from her father. She brought her down and hugged her again.
"You spoke to dad, didn't you?" Lia found out.
It is always like this whenever Giselle gets news or message from Lia's father, she gets excited and pours extra love to Lia. Completely different from a regular divorced couple.
"Yes. Daddy wants to talk to you before you go to school and he asked me to take lots of pictures." Giselle replied.
"Hurray!!!!" Lia jumped in excitement.
"Well well well, it's time for my Hero to give me his powers and blessings." Lia chuckled.
Giselle suddenly felt void. This is definitely the symptoms of the conversation-style that Lia has with her father. They act like Hero and Hero's student. Giselle never really hated it but she's not too much interested into that stuff. Ethan raised his daughter with the stories of heroes and villains. Lia developed her creativity from her father's stories. She used to enjoy them.
"Ah... ah... whatever... it's up to you and your father. Let me out." Giselle moaned.
"Pfft... you weaklings have no right to stand in presence of my great Hero." Lia turned into a character from a superhero movie.
Soon the mother and the child had their play time. By the time, the sky turned dark and the night approached. Giselle and Lia went out. Giselle brought the list of items required for Lia's school and also ingredients for tonight's dinner.
