Spending all day at school and walking home together for a few minutes becomes the best part of the day for both. They relished it too much to the point of feeling empty the minute they separate from each other.
It has been the case for every day, let alone spending the entire Sat.u.r.day, alone together, especially being in Giselle's room. Spending time with her all day felt like walking back home for a year consecutively.
It is the first time Lillian spent so much time with Giselle without anyone interrupting them. The feels finally hit her as she was getting ready to leave. Saying Goodbye was painful, almost hard to the point that she didn't want to say it out loud.
Lillian Grey was already starting to miss her;
Nonetheless, one thing let Lillian depart hurriedly without feeling so depressed. Thanking Melanie for her hospitality while receiving those icy glares from the elder sister, Gigi, Lillian Grey finally left Giselle's house.

Edwin was in the backyard, busily cleaning the garden area. The sun has already set, and yet his daughter hasn't returned home. As he kept worrying, Edwin heard a loud bang inside the house, along with a voice that seemed to be shouting.
"DAD, I'm home."
The rustling sounds along with the voice can only belong to one person, Lillian Grey.
Dropping his work, Edwin Grey left the backyard. He returned swiftly to welcome his daughter. However, entering the living room, Edwin saw Lillian Grey almost ran along the stairs as she did not spare a look at her surroundings.
Lillian Grey only saw the shadow of her father down in the living room. Despite the flash vision, Lillian saw the sulk face Edwin wore. She felt sorry for not greeting him properly.
Abruptly stopping to her feet, she faltered and then got steady on the floor.
"Dad, How was your day?" she spoke.
Edwin heard his daughter's voice; his face sparkled, rejoicing he replied to her.
...
"How was your group study?" Edwin asked.
Lillian Grey smirked haughtily.
"Dad, your daughter is smart."
Lillian's boastful response baffled Edwin. He s.p.a.ced out for a while before confirming if his daughter is smart or not.
Lillian Grey scoffed.
Seeing her father doubting the fact ridiculed Lillian Grey's bursting confidence throughout the day.
"Mr. Grey, wait, and see this final exam, I will prove it to you!" Lillian declared.
Edwin chuckled, "Alright, you seem to be in a rush. Go get some rest and then we can chat."
Lillian nodded.
"Give me some time, I'll join you soon," Lillian announced as she left to her room.
…
Pus.h.i.+ng the door open, she pulled something out of her bag and then threw it on the bed along with herself.
Falling onto her soft bed, Lillian felt the missing lavender scent. Sighing to herself, she glanced at the object in her hand.

Before leaving, Lillian Grey got stopped by Giselle;
She went to her closet and returned with a fancy gift box.
"What is this?" Lillian asked upon seeing the decorated item in her hand.
Giselle did not respond. Instead, she handed the gift to Lillian Grey.
"For me?" Lillian asked.
Giselle nodded quietly.
At first, Lillian Grey did not understand the situation. Only after staring at Giselle's fl.u.s.tered face, seeing her ears get redden and her wavering eyes afraid to look at Lillian while giving this decorative item. Lillian Grey smirked.
"Is this Lilly's present?" she asked slyly, her tone sarcastically seductive, almost teasing Giselle to deepen the red shade.
It worked. Giselle got more flushed look on her face.
"Y- Yes," she replied, stuttering her way.
'If I tease more, she might explode.' – Lillian noted.
She received the gift box and thanked Giselle.
"Do you want me to open it right now?" Lillian asked.
Giselle's face shriveled in fear, she shook her head like a robot, refusing to let it happen.
"NO, don't- Go home and open it," Giselle's voice sounding like an order.
Lillian Grey agreed quickly; placing the gift inside her bag. Excitement filled with surprise, Lillian Grey was eager to open the present and see what's inside.

Back in her room, resting on her bed leisurely, Lillian Grey examined the item.
The fiery glittering red gift wrapper sparkled like the ruby diamond. The box did not feel that heavy, but it wasn't light either, meaning that something with ma.s.s is inside.
Unable to guess only from the looks, Lillian chose to unwrap it.

If it is the old her, then she would destroy the gift wrapper while removing, ripping it away into shreds. Since this is from Giselle, Lillian handled it carefully. She did not rip out carelessly but using scissors she managed to unfold the cover clean.
Stripping it away neatly, Lillian saw a smooth, clean peach-colored rectangular box. Opening it, she found a note on top of the set.
Collecting the note and keeping it aside, she took a look at the a.s.sortment.
In it was an Antique feather Quill dip pen with writing Ink. The feather was in Ruby Red color. The set came with a cute little violin stand to place the pen.
Lillian's eyes lit up, gleaming in shock as well as over joy.
She is not the type to get excited about gifts, yet this one stunned her.
Giselle knew how much Lillian Grey loves literature. Both have spent a lot of times outside school at the local public library. This side of Lillian Grey is often considered to be gentle like a breeze. No one can call her a beast. With eyes full of excitement, she flips through the pages, at often, her expression changes according to the story.
If it's a romance, she smiles.
If a character dies, she frowns almost tearing one time because it was one of her favorite characters.
If its mystery, her brows would knit themselves together in curiosity as she read.
Like this, Giselle has seen Lillian Grey express more when she reads novels.
To think that, remembering her love for books, Giselle presented Lillian Grey with a suitable gift.
Lillian Grey was left speechless.
She remained frozen for several minutes; her eyes never left the item on her hand. After a while, she got snapped out of it and remembered the hand-written note.
//

It a small, simple note yet the message written on it warmed Lillian Grey.
She smiled as she read each word, injecting it into her heart, relis.h.i.+ng the warmth it spread inside.
