Ya Nuo: "We're here"
Huan Hei smiled, "Alright, don't forget your clothes." He handed her the bag of tops that he bought earlier from Amorina.
Ya Nuo: "I'll pay you back."
Huan Hei poked the tip of her nose, "Silly, this is my gift to you."
Ya Nuo: "Too expensive."
Huan Hei: "It comes with the girlfriend package. What kind of boyfriend could be cheap to his girlfriend? Besides, those tops are very cute and would look extremely adorable on you. I want to see you wear them on our dates."
Ya Nuo hesitated a bit before taking the clothes from his hand, "Then next time I'll buy you something with money that I earn from part time jobs! You can't say no to that."
Huan Hei laughed from her silliness, "Sure. I'll take anything you give me, but don't overwork yourself."
Ya Nuo: "Mmm.. I'll go in now."
He waved goodbye and watched her from behind.
"I forgot something." she said and cheerfully ran to him in open arms.
"Hmm?" he questioned curiously.
"Muahhhh. I forgot to give you a kiss. Bye bye~ Message me when you get home~" she ran in her house and missed the loving expression from his face.
He placed his hand flat on his chest and felt the beating rhythm of his heart, 'Ahhh.. my heart will never stop beating for her...'
It's been a few months since Ya Nuo reunited with her family. She loved staying over at her grandpa's and parent's house from week to week. Both places were perfect and very convenient for her because the houses are close to her high school. Even though the houses were close to school, Huan Hei didn't slack off after dating her. He always arrived on time to pick her up for school in the morning. Huan Hei also met her family and ate together sometimes. Her family was outgoing with relations.h.i.+ps and doted on him like he was a part of their family. Things were going smoothly and harmoniously, but recently, something was bothering Ya Nuo.
She always had the feeling of being spied on by somebody, but when she looked, n.o.body was behind her. She thought that it was because her awareness sensitivity is always on high precaution in case of unantic.i.p.ated attacks. Sometimes she touches her desk at school and feels like something is amiss. When she checks the supplies in her desk, nothing was missing or misplaced.
The weirdest thing that she noticed is that when she and Huan Hei secretly hides from others for a small kiss or eat lunch together, a light bulb always tags along. This light bulb is Hen Qing. She always finds an excuse to interrupt them. Once they hid behind the staircase and a bunch of paper boxes, but Hen Qing caught them and said that she had to recycle paper so she started with the stacked paper boxes. Another time, Ya Nuo was in the boys bathroom with him and somebody called the teacher saying that students were smoking in the bathroom. The person who reported this happened to be Hen Qing's best friend.
Whenever Huan Hei was with her, whether it is dating or at school, many coincidental accidents would take place. For example, they were walking back home one day and a plant dropped from the roof almost hitting Huan Hei's head. Luckily, Ya Nuo was there and pulled him away or else the plant would have seriously injured him. Another time was when they were enjoying their meal and found two thumbtacks in his baked cheese pasta. The restaurant apologized and compromised with a free dinner. Even so, how many incidents could combine to make one coincidence? And how many of those coincidences could really be noted as an accident? If it is once, then okay, but it was multiple times. From sculptures on the top shelf slipping off the top row of a steady shelf without anyone touching it to wet steps without warning signs; these are no accidents. When these situations are combined, there are no coincidences. Someone is messing with them.
Huan Hei never paid much attention to his surroundings other than Ya Nuo so he was a natural air head. Even after explaining, it was useless. He thought these were all his bad luck and she was over thinking things.
"Hei, listen to me! These events are really weird because everything is aiming at you! The flower pot, sculpture from art room, wet staircase, and many more! Even if these are coincidences, how come it only happens when I'm by your side? Somebody is messing with us!"
"Nuo, you're thinking too much. People are forgetful and clumsy. Someone could have accidentally pushed the flower pot from the rooftop, forgot to leave a caution sign for wet stairs, misplaced a few sculptures and eventually it became unbalanced and fell from the shelves, and more. Perfectly normal. You're overthinking.
"But all of these occur only on you. Also, only happens when I am with you that these things happen."
"Nuo, if you're thinking that someone is after you, then why would these accidents happen on me and not you? Like you said, these only happens to me. So even if it is someone going after you, isn't it easier to target you? What's the benefit of hurting me?"
"Mm… you're right…"
Ya Nuo sat on her bed after she showered that night and thought about it carefully. 'Right, my a.s.s! It's so obvious that somebody is trying to do something...but he does have a point. Why would anyone deliberately try to harm him? What benefit would they get..?'
Meanwhile, Hen Qing was at a laboratory observing a machine doing its work with a chilling grin on her face. Her lips were crooked and eyes s.h.i.+mmered with inexplicable malice from the reflection of the machine in front of her making her look extremely horrifying. "Hehe… just a little while more…"
Her lips grinned from ear to ear showing a small gap of her white teeth.
The boogeyman s.h.i.+vered from watching his daughter from the opposite side of the lab. "My daughter is quite impressive.. heh.. this time she's not getting away for sure."
