Jiro slowly got up from his bed. It wasn't even close to morning and the moon was still up in the sky as he climbed up to the roof of the house. He sat on the roof just trying to comprehend what was happening to him. The dream he had was of his past. It was one of his most precious, yet horrible experiences. It was a beautiful memory stained with the crimson of those that were slain.

No matter how hard he tried to calm down, Jiro was feeling increasingly agitated. He slowly grabbed a hold of his left hand that was trembling. It was shaking like it was trying to unleash a beast. Jiro could feel his s.a.d.i.s.tic side start to boil and begin to erupt. He desperately tried to suppress it. Several long hours pa.s.sed before the feeling of his rage and wrath finally went away. Jiro got up, but the roof was wet, covered in his sweat as he battled with his past life.

-------------

The morning pa.s.sed by as Jiro threw himself into training his friends. In the afternoon, he began to try and learn the Eight Gates technique, but no progress was made. Breaking through the gates required intense physical strain, but Jiro couldn't find much to cause strain. Instead, he had to exhaust himself and train in order to try and break through the first gate. Unfortunately, he couldn't do much. He was too preoccupied.

It wasn't even close to time to sleep, but Jiro was feeling curious. He had been plagued by a sense of unease since the time he woke up and what he most wanted to do was get rid of this feeling. It was bugging him and constantly stopping him from doing his best. The concoction of unease and curiosity was eating away at him so Jiro went to sleep just as the sun began to set.

-----------

Fugaku, Duy, and Teuchi exchanged glances as soon as Jiro went to his room. They were wondering what was wrong with Jiro. He had been strangely agitated during the whole day and he really threw himself into training like he was trying to forget something or not face it. They were divided on whether they should help Jiro.

"What do you guys think? I want to help him, but it seems more like a personal issue rather than something we should concern ourselves with."

"He is our friend. We should help him."

"But can we help him? I think Fugaku is right that whatever is bothering Jiro is a personal issue."

"You guys care about privacy too much. Bah! If it looks like he needs help then we should help. We aren't sure though so we'll wait a couple days."

---------------

Jiro came into another memory of Ezekiel's past. It was a continuation of the previous memory.

The same little girl was looking back at the mansion. All was quiet, the steady chirps of crickets forming white noise. She was wrapped in a lush white jacket with gold b.u.t.tons. She was holding a sky blue blanket that wrapped around a small bundled form. She stood right before the border between the mansion's clean lawn and the harshness of the forest.

Despite her worries, she tightened the hold over the blanket and marched forward. As the darkness of the forest loomed overhead, she flicked on a large flashlight that penetrated through the gloom, revealing her target to follow.

Jiro continued to observe as Ezekiel marched forward through the forest while his little sister followed after him all while carrying the little bundle. He saw that Ezekiel would break the branches in front of him, effectively clearing a way for his little sister to follow without too much difficulty. He noticed the little sister's breathing was beginning to grow heavy and her pace slowed. When she slowed down, so did Ezekiel.

Fatigue continued to catch up to the little girl yet she stubbornly continued to follow after her brother in the darkness. Her breathing was already heavy and her vision was narrowed, only trained on the man she continued to cling after. She had already thrown the flashlight away as it was too heavy, but the bundle still remained in her arms. Her vision was beginning to blur now. The sharp shapes of the forest began to tilt and meld in wondrous ways, becoming blurs in her sight.

Jiro watched as the little girl finally began to collapse. Her form finally beginning to fall. Just before she hit the floor, Ezekiel caught her. His motion was swift. Despite being unconscious, the little bundle hadn't fallen out of her arms. The loud howls of a pack of wolves suddenly echoed through the air.

Ezekiel turned after he carefully put down the little girl. He spared a moment to check on the little baby in the bundle before he finally turned to the wolves that surrounded them. An aura like that of a beast emitted off of Ezekiel as he focused on the wolves. A couple wolves backed down as they whimpered in defeat with their tails tucked between their legs.

A new howl disturbed the air once more, but it came from the alpha of the pack. A couple of missing patches of hair showed that the wolf was experienced in battle, but Ezekiel showed no signs of fear. The other wolves backed off in the presence of their alpha and formed a rough circular shape that was surrounding Ezekiel and the kids.

Jiro was intrigued as he was unable to make sense of this moment. He finally realized why he was feeling so uneasy. He had never seen these memories before. He had only gotten memories of Ezekiel later in his life. Not this.

While Jiro finally figured out the reason for his uneasiness, the wolves had been torn apart. The sounds of flesh being torn apart were not very eerie, but Jiro noticed that not one sound had been uttered by the wolves while they had been mutilated.

Patches of fur dyed the ground in a crimson liquid, but the girl and the bundle were left untouched by any of the filth. In fact, a circle of blood, guts, and muscle still connected to bone were formed around the girl and the baby. The blood and guts continued to give off steam as it met with the cold air. Even though the girl remained untouched, Ezekiel walked over to the alpha which had two broken legs.

He grabbed the scruff of the wolf before ripping the skin off of the wolf. Jiro could see pain in the eyes of the wolf, but it still remained unable to make any noise. The suffering of the wolf ended as Ezekiel stomped down the skull of the wolf, completely eliminating it with a crunch that echoed through the now silent forest.

Ezekiel threw the somewhat b.l.o.o.d.y fur onto the girl which covered her up even more.

Jiro watched with interest as he was enlightened further to the past of Ezekiel, but Ezekiel suddenly looked up to Jiro. They made eye contact.

Author's notes: I generally write on a sort of whim. I say this because I decided to go back and fix up all the previous chapters I wrote. Originally, Jiro was Ezekiel who reincarnated, but it's slightly different now. You don't have to go back and reread the previous chapters. I'll list the changes the next couple chapters when more is revealed. Originally, the name was Herod, but I changed his name to Ezekiel.

PS: I changed the synopsis, but I suck at them. Is it better?

Side note: This is not 500 words. For some reason, QI does not want the author's notes to be over 500 words, but this is at most around 120 words. Rip.

One last side note: I released this at 11:52 PM PST on Sunday.
