"Firstly, good job on making it through the sprint. After the earlier training and just a little bit of recovery, you were all able to sprint at full speed for an extended period of time. I'll also be giving explanations on why everything I'm saying is important so pay attention."
"This tip applies to all of you. Become sensitive to not only killing intent, but hostile intent. s.h.i.+n.o.bi that intend to kill with only one blow might hide their killing intent or try to disguise it has hostile intent instead so become sensitive to the nuances behind the intents"
Duy, Teuchi, and Fugaku s.h.i.+fted a little on their makes.h.i.+ft seats. Jiro was not one to give complements and hearing one right from the beginning was nice. They also mentally psyched themselves up a bit in preparation for the criticisms that were bound to follow."
"Duy."
"Yes?"
"Training the Eight Gates technique is great, but how would you hit someone far away?"
Duy didn't ponder on the question much and simply replied. "Sensei said that we wouldn't need to worry too much about range as we would be part of a bigger unit."
"Seriously? You guys are ok with being part of a bigger unit instead of being part of the elite? Especially you Fugaku?"
"The clan needs more exposure in a good way. I'll be able to give the clan much more well deserved recognition by partic.i.p.ating with the other ninja."
"I get more recognition than all three of you combined. Just get leagues above the other ninja then your efforts as well as power will be recognized."
"People are fearful of those with too much power, especially, the Uchiha. They talk behind you and keep on mentioning Madara, the traitor."
Jiro clearly recognized that his argument was not getting across. Even if it was, Fugaku was too stubborn. He would still try to work with other ninja that were more like cannon fodder or meat s.h.i.+elds. He could at least work with clan ninja that had some specialties, but he was stubborn in thinking about working with other ninja.
"Whatever. Duy, you need to figure out a way to gain range in your attacks. I don't think that you would be able to succeed so I'll teach you how to close distance in a quick manner. Learn well because some s.h.i.+n.o.bi specialize in attacking from a distance. You need to know how to catch up to them."
Duy nodded in agreement even though he was insulted. With a smile, he kept listening as Jiro moved onto Teuchi.
"Your surprisingly good at defending yourself. You lasted longer than I expected, but you suck at attacking. Your counter attacks are alright, but they could get some improvement. I don't expect you to favor attacking so you should learn some Ninjutsu that are meant to trap or slow down opponents. However, your team was supposed to be an a.s.sault team so it better be something that brings harm as well."
Teuchi smiled as he nodded brightly. The unexpected amount of praise brought his spirits up. He exchanged grins with Duy who was grinning just as much.
Jiro finally turned to Fugaku who looked ecstatic. He was trying to cover his excitement up, but his s.h.i.+ning eyes gave him away. Jiro took a few seconds to formulate his thoughts before he began to speak.
"I can't teach you much Fugaku. Your biggest flaw is your unwillingness to use Ninjutsu. You just need to expand your options in a fight more. Unfortunately, I can't help you in training your Sharingan. My Sharingan is totally different from yours. The contract that I have with Kana significantly changed my Sharingan. I am barely able to see Chakra with it, but I can see material things at a very far distance like they are close."
"One last comment for all of you. Train the Eight Gates well. If you take too long to break through a certain gate, the enemy would be able to kill you. Make sure you can break through the gates in a very short amount of time. And for the your own sake, train your body with my body refining technique. The Eight Gates has a serious drain on one's body and you need the technique's help to get further along."
"I don't now if I am qualified enough to tell you this, but be careful about training together in order to have more synergy. I never synergized with others, but I could tell that you guys team up together well. If someone breaks the synergy you have, you will all suffer a drastic decrease in ability just like how you were affected by my killing intent."
After the quick lesson, Jiro developed several ways to train his friends in the areas where they lacked. He would have to personally just spar with Duy so that he could slowly learn from being beaten how to close the distance. Jiro wouldn't be able to personally help Teuchi or Fugaku so they would have to train on their own or research on their own.
As for team exercises, Jiro knew that the things that could be trained was their resistance and sensitivity to killing intent. As for team synergy, he just figured that he would try his best to ruin the synergy during a spar while his friends tried their hardest to keep it.
A couple hours pa.s.sed by as Jiro continued to spar with his friends. He was fully intending on making them into at the very least Jonin level in some aspect. He also knew that there would be lots of time for them to train during the times they wandered around so he didn't push too hard for now.
------------
Jiro looked up at the night sky once more as his friends went to bed. Kana wasn't with him. It was just him. Jiro looked up at the stars s.h.i.+ning in the night and wondered about many things. In his past life, he had run away from the responsibility of being a leader and leading his clan. However, Jiro could see that even though he had vowed to not get involved in matters relating to leaders.h.i.+p of the clan, he was still getting involved.
It wasn't as if he was dragged into leading or helping his friends, but he was doing it of his own will. He could see the patterns of war already. If Jiro had learned one thing from history, it was that war always took away. He didn't want his friends or his twin to die. He wanted them to live. Jiro clenched his fist as he continued to stare at the blinking stars.
The soft wind blew at his hair, yet he was occupied with matters of the present and future. He was going to make sure that none of the people who mattered in his life died. As Jiro continued to make a vow about his conviction to make his friends ready for the future, he suddenly smiled realizing that he wasn't alone. Jiro got into bed and fell asleep.
-----------------
Jiro got up to a strange situation. He was viewing the memories of his past life from the perspective of a viewer.
"Big brother! What are you doing? The clan needs you!"
A little girl dressed in a comfortable silk pajama clung at the arm of a teenager dressed in all black. His youthful face was already haggard with the stress of working for others and his eyes s.h.i.+ned with determination. The girl was too young to notice, but behind that haggard face and determined eyes was an icy ruthlessness.
"I'm leaving."
The little girl with dark hair tugged even harder on her brother's arm. Tears welled up in her eyes as she lost all sense of rationality. She started begging, crying, and screaming for her brother to not go. She would get the guards involved and make sure that her brother would stay. She suddenly stopped as she realized that no guard was coming at all. She opened the door of her room.
Crimson stains lined the hallway. An eyeball was hanging on the lamp creating a shadow that stretched across the hallway. As blood slowly dripped off the eyeball, a part of the shadow fell down as well. The once pristine white hallway was stained with red. What had once been a clean and glossy white marbles was a cracked ground that greedily sucked away at the crimson that slowly dripped from broken bodies. A detached arm was shoved into the mouth of a guard who had once been alive. His jaw was grossly distended and his eyes were rolled back as a mixture of saliva and blood coagulated on the floor.
She looked farther down to see similar scenes. Bodies torn to pieces. Men and women having suffered horribly before the scythe of death took their last breathe away. Even with all the carnage, as she took a breathe of air, it smelled clean. There was an eerie silence and artificial cleanliness that penetrated through the house.
The girl stumbled backwards but she b.u.mped into something- someone. She turned with eyes that were traumatized. A reflection of all the grisly deaths were s.h.i.+ning in her eyes. Ezekiel smiled. A mirthless, cold smile. A grin that stretched so far it distorted his face. The silence of the mansion was broken by the shriek of the little girl.
Once again, there was no reply, only silence.
