The spring garden party began, at the corner of the castle garden br.i.m.m.i.n.g with out-of-season large roses, n.o.bles and young ladies with gorgeous costumes were laughing. It was a costly party from the wine to high ranked ingredients, the elegant orchestra to the best roses that especially grew in a greenhouse.
Separated from the center where everybody was socializing around Bellard, Tinaria was quietly standing at the edge of the garden, admiring the flowers. There was no one nearby, but even if the surrounding n.o.bles were gossiping while watching in her direction with a scornful look from time to time, Tinaria took a breath of relief, finally being able to calm down.
The highly colored and ornamental flowers had the strong fragrance of large flowers, but Tinaria eased her mind with the small and cute flowers that were growing here and there. It was like the blooming flowers that were cuddled in that back garden———.
During the middle of the garden party, the men naturally went indoor to play chess or talk about politics, and the women went separately at the terrace for a tea break. The place was wide enough to contain all the attending young ladies, sweets and tea sets were brought one by one in the terrace that was designed to have a view of the garden.
In the middle of it, a young maid apprentice pa.s.sed before Tinaria, carrying unstably a tray with a lot of tea sets. Looking at the arm that was shaking by the weight, as she tried to lend a hand since it was dangerous, the tea sets lost balance, slid off from the tray, and fell on the floor with a loud sound. Tinaria rushed over the young maid that was trembling while turning deep blue, and looked around to ask other maids to clean up, but n.o.body wanted to get involved and avoided her gaze.
“Are you injured? If you are okay, could you please go and inform the lady’s maid?”
Somehow, the maid calmed down and accepted, by the time Tinaria quickly collected the big broken pieces in the tray she received from the maid that was kind enough to call out for help, a voice could be heard behind her. Looking back, Bellard, bringing along a crowd of followers that who knew when they approached, was standing, distorting her lips as if she had discovered something very interesting.
