The evil one lowered his head, and after a while, he spoke in a low voice. "You are awake."

What did this mean?

Qingfu raised her head to look at Tianhan. Tianhan also felt puzzled.

So the evil spirit and the lady of the Wu Family knew each other? What was more, they looked like . . . a couple. But this was hard to understand. If the evil spirit loved the lady, why did he hurt the love and occupy her body?

"I have nightmares these days. You are in them." The lady smiled weakly. "So, those are not dreams, you are always by my side."

The spirit lowered her head, having nothing to reply.

Qingfu wanted to ask what their relations.h.i.+p was, but she didn't know how to. She stood there awkwardly. The atmosphere in the room was very strange.

After some time, the lady opened her mouth again, saying, "Thank you!"

The spirit shook his head. "I am too self-fish, I have troubled you so many years. . . I won't come to bother again, and I won't put your life at any risk. Take care!"

Having finished saying this, the spirit moved to jump out of the window, but Tianhan raised his arm to stop him. With a white light pa.s.sing, the spirit was forced back.

Qingfu coughed with embarra.s.sment. "We . . . we came here to catch you."

The spirit was speechless.

The lady sighed and asked Qingfu, "Lady, may I beg you to let him go?"

Qingfu turned to look at her. Her eyes opened wide with surprise. "Why? He almost killed you."

The lady sighed and lowered her head to think how to answer Qingfu. After a while she said, "In fact, I met him ten years ago. I saved his life in an accident. Since then, I got this illness. But only in the recent days, when my illness turned worse, did I fall into a coma. I dreamed of him many times, but I had no feelings for him. Now I know that it was his decision to possess my body and create a chance to meet me."

Qingfu was inquisitive again. "But he can meet you in the real life. Why does he choose to possess your body?"

Lord Tianhan sneered. "That's why we call this an evil spirit. In their hearts, occupation is the most important thing."

Qingfu's heart was thrilled. Her face turned pale, and she looked at him for a while, but she didn't say anything.

The lady sighed and asked, "Anyway, his purpose is not to hurt me, so I beg you to let him go. Would you?"

Qingfu sighed and turned to Tianhan for his suggestion.

"This is your mission. You decide. I have no right to question your decision." Tianhan waved his sleeve and left the room.

Qingfu found that the fetter on the spirit was removed. She turned to the spirit, and said, "Leave, and never come back."

The spirit nodded and changed into a black fog to fly away. The lady let out a sigh of relief and went to sleep and rested.

Qingfu left the room and stared back at the blood on the ground. Suddenly, a panic shone in her eyes and she sighed.

Would the other realms care if they were good or evil?

Qingfu squinted. Lord Tianhan must be waiting for her outside the city. Without any hesitation, she hurried to go out of the city.

In the wood outside the city, Qingfu found Lord Tianhan standing alone. When she planned to go nearer to him, she saw his hand wave and then a white light shone.

Qingfu focused her eyes on him. Soon she discovered what he was doing, and she eased back several steps with incredulity.

Tianhan seemed to sense her coming, and he turned his head to look at her. There was the familiar smell of the same spices around him.

Qingfu clenched her lips, not daring to say a word.

Tianhan turned to her as if nothing really mattered. "Are you frightened?"

After a silent pause, she asked, "Don't you agree to let him go?"

He turned back his attention from her and a cloud came to wait in front of them. He stepped onto the cloud and turned to head on their way back. He looked into the vast distance with deep thoughts.

After a while, he opened his mouth and answered her. "You should know the evil spirits keep their habits. If we don't kill them all, similar incidents will happen again."

He looked back to Qingfu with gravity. "Now you have had a lesson. This trip is not in vain."

Qingfu lowered her head, keeping quiet.

Though the one was an evil being, he was one of their group. Lord Tianhan must not know how panicked she was right now.

If someday she . . .

Would Lord Tianhan also cut the weed and dig up the root?
