Prologue

TianWei Palace, the 8th Year after Dynasty of Mighty Qi has ruled the realm of human.

Astral Guru Zhao ChuQi looked up vacuously at the unusual phenomenon, dazed.

As if the snowy sky was torn to a colossal opening: colorful lights twisting, turning in it, constantly gathering up in the middle that it would collapse in another second.

The flunkey behind Astral Guru was also staring at the enormous gap in bafflement– it looks like a giant wound in the sky, he mumbled: "Master, is the sky… falling?"

"The sky… couldn't!"

Astral Guru was quavering, he had no idea what had happened, but there must be something exceptional judging at the scale.

Just as he finished his words, suddenly, a loud noise blasted into the air as if a symphony of trillions of bells. The gap in the sky changed into a thick, dense dark red. One of the scarlet rays plunged from the gap towards the furthest end of the horizon, though it feels right before the eyes.

Astral Guru Zhao ChuQi gawked at the extraordinary phenomenon in the sky, petrified.

Right after, another round of rumbling came again from the sky. Now the gap changed into dark orange, with one of them shooting down again. If the first rumble woke every resident on the ground, the second rammed everyone onto their knees, begging, making kowtow towards the sky nonstop in terror.

At once, people flooded into the front of every house in the Mighty Qi capital– be it in the elite compound or on the narrowest alley, overwhelmed in horror.

In another eruption from above, the blast woke up a famished man at death's door. He lay on his stomach by the high walls of a backyard, miserably waiting for the leftovers thrown out by the slave in the house to survive. However, this moment never came but the astonis.h.i.+ng incident did.

The famish man gathered up his energy out-of-no-where and wobbled up on his feet, his clothes are ragged, his ribs protrude from his gaunt, emaciated chest, as if the dried branches in a blizzard.

"The world is doomed!"

The peris.h.i.+ng man roared hysterically with every last energy in his body. A blinding emerald ray of light shone on the land. Behind him, the corpses were buried under the snow, forming a long, long line along the base of the wall.

On the other side of the wall, the fur-coat-clad rich men went into their backyard, guarded by their slaves. Performing kowtow towards the unusual sight, they shouted: "Auspicious sign from G.o.d!"

Listening to the voices in the backyard, the peris.h.i.+ng man broke out another wrathful roar.

"The world is doomed!!"

The other famish men who were lying around at the base of wall struggled to stand up after hearing his bellowing. Raising their hands up towards the sky, they screamed hysterically: "The world is doomed!!!"

Their voices ama.s.sed, forming a raging stream of anger, charging towards the end of the street. Yet another blast came from above and swallowed those bellowing up. A squad of royal guards came. Golden armored, they beat those bellowing famish men to the ground until they couldn't get up again. They are no different than the snowflakes tumbling in this extraordinary incident—recedes into silence once they fell aground.

No one cares what happened to these lives by the road, what they saw, is the change of the sky, the ceaseless, deafening rumble and the streaks of light that fell from the sky one after another.

"Seven……Eight……Nine……" Astral Guru stared into the sky, murmured "What does this mean?"

"Master!!"

A crisp voice came from afar, a flunkey rushed to his feet in panic: "Master, there's something weird at the Sky Link!"

Astral Guru tensed up, rolled his robe and raced towards the Sky Link.

Albeit his high age, Astral Guru is fit. He ran non-stop towards the base of Sky Link that was built into the clouds, in a glance, he could see lights flickering on top of the obelisk. Like colorful liquid that flows, these lights gathered from above down to the Sky Link Rock and slowly condensed into several words "Decree from Sky G.o.d: rebelling Star Lords, eluded to world, seek and slay the reincarnated!"

Astral Guru's face turned green. He immediately looked further away into the horizon; the seven colored rays are still glowing across the sky.

Just as Astral Guru was rus.h.i.+ng to inform the Emperor of Mighty Qi, another explosion came from the sky. A golden ray shone from the gap in the sky right into the royal palace, followed by another string of words condensing onto the Sky Link Rock: "Reborn fairy, await timing, attainment achieved, slay the rebel!"

Astral Guru was solemn as he stated slowly: "b.l.o.o.d.y rain from above!" He adjusted his hat, ordered: "Send the words: I'll be in the palace to notify His Majesty!"

As the guru set out to the palace, all the Four Gates and Nine Doors of the palace were all opened, an 8-manned litter hurried into the palace. Moments later, more than ten riders left the palace with emergency token, pelted away in different directions.

In the south-western City of Feng,, Moon Purge Clan, Lee family.

"Pus.h.!.+ Push harder!"

Nanny Wen was sweating, holding Madam Xie's legs while she raised her head and shouted.

Madam Xie was bathing in her sweat and as pale as piece of paper, she was panting heavily, her chest went up and down—she ground her teeth, growling.

Nanny Wen was on edge as Madam Xie was in labor for 2 hours already. It's a terrible sign— any further delay, both of them will peris.h.!.+

Seeing Madam Xie's cracking lips and thick white foam at the corner of her lips, Nanny Wen ordered: "Quick, quick, feed her ginseng tea to boost her energy!"

The two maids beside—one holding a tea tray and another a spittoon—the maid who was holding the tea tray immediately stepped forward. Madam Xie drank the hot tea in s.h.i.+ver, took a deep breath and ready to push again. All of a sudden a strong wind gushed in; a rainbow colored ray shone from the sky through the window. At once the room was illuminated to a degree that, combining with the wind, everyone in the room has to shut their eyes in reflex.

As they were panicking, came a baby shriek. When Nanny Wen checked, the baby was already halfway out. She pulled the baby out, swiftly cut the cord and wrapped the child in silk after the bandaging.

The glare and wind came and went away instantly; the moment Madam Xie opened her eyes, she felt her void abdomen, relieved, she smiled weakly: "Boy or girl?"

Nanny Wen smiled: "Congratulations madam! It's a boy!"

The maid next to them greeted loudly in joy: "Congratulations sir, congratulations sir, madam gave birth to a son!"

Before they finish the sentence, the door opened abruptly; a balbo, well-built man in Chinese clothing barged in, delighted: "My wife has given birth? Where's my son? Where's my son!" He searched for the child while he said so and hugged the son as he found him. He laughed in jovial: "My son looks exactly like me! Hahaha, I have a son, the Lee family has offspring now!" there and then, he darted out in joy.

In a moment, everyone in the room was stupefied; Madam Xie gawked at Nanny Wen and the baby in her lap, giggled: "What… did sir carried away?"

The empty handed maid next to her replied: "I think it's… a spittoon."

Madam Xie: "……"

Looking at each other, everyone was speechless. The room fell into deep silence at once, where only the deep, loud voice of a man in pride could be heard: "Look, look! It's my son! What do you think, do we look a like?"

Now they could only hear a loud laughter from outside, Madam Xie covered her face in pain: "quickly, tidy up the things!"

The maid beside her couldn't get it: "Why so, madam?"

Madam Xie cried: "We can't stay here anymore! It's too embarra.s.sing!"

Two carriages sped away from the east gate of City of Feng. As the war flag on the city wall vanished gradually from sight, Madam Xie breast-fed her baby in her lap with motherly love. The maid beside her sighed dully: "Madam, are we really leaving?"

Madam Xie was certain: "I had been planning for this. n.o.body lives with no pride. The Lee family was once the top clan, how could we bare the defamation?"

The maid didn't agree, but she mindlessly pulled away the curtain and looked outside, keeping it to herself. At far, a large horseman charged towards their direction, with the crimson emergency arrow on his back, the fletching danced crazily as he gallops—apparently it is very urgent!

The maid and Madam Xie watched in curiosity at the rider as he rushed by towards the gate, the man has a staggeringly loud voice, he shouted at the gate: "Shut the gate! Shut all the gates!"

The soldier at the gate wasn't happy: "Who are you, do you know where this place is? How could you shut all the gates!?"

The rider took the token out and said: "Order from His Majesty! In every town that the unusual light shone on, all the infants that were born on the day, along with their whole family, regardless of their status or gender, must be slain!"

These words are as if thunder for the two in the carriage, they were frightened and pale, trembling, yet only the baby with big glowing dark eyes who knew nothing managed to continue sucking milk from Madam Xie's breast, looking at his other innocently.

Fortunately the Old Master Lee was still drunk and asleep at the back of carriage, else he would make noise and that would be the end of Lee family!

Madam Lee extended her trembling hand, knocking against the wall of carriage, her voice was quavering: "Don't stop, keep moving!"

The coachman was also quavering: "Where to, Madam?"

Madam Xie replied: "The further the better! Quick!"

"Chia!" the coachman shouted, the carriage sped up. After a moment, as the gate became further away from them, the two in the carriage gave out a sigh of relief.

The maid stroke her chest out of relief, before she could say a word, she realized Madam Xie was glaring at her: "If you still want to live, you must not tell a single word about what happened today! Do you understand!?"

The maid nodded, swallowing back her words.

The ambience in the carriage is so tensed up that the maid felt like she was sitting on a carpet of needles. A moment later, she tried to start a topic: "madam, what would you name your son?"

Supposedly, this is the old master's job. But now that the old master was possessed due to an accident while practicing kungfu, he became delirious. Only Madam Xie could decide now.

Madam Xie looked at her son compa.s.sionately, in a soft voice she replied: "He was born in the unusual phenomenon, he came with the wind. I would call him… Lee ChengFeng!"
