He trained feverishly every day. From time to time Jun YanZhi would come by Wen Jing's residence to visit the big tortoise. He was quiet and with little to say. Sometimes he would also freeload a meal.
Wen Jing discovered Jun YanZhi had a few preferences.
One day, he gave the large tortoise a plate of the red cherry-sized spirit fruit and placed it on the bed. This kind of fruit was picked from the trees on the cliff. They had a very good sweet and sour taste and the large tortoise liked them a great deal.
Wen Jing stepped outside the door and then turned back. The red fruit had been completely consumed. The large tortoise stared motionless at the completely empty plate. Wen Jing thought it a bit strange and asked Jun YanZhi who was sitting nearby: “Why did he eat it so quickly?”
Jun YanZhi responded mildly: “Maybe he liked it.”
Wen Jing frowned, gave the tortoise another plate, and went outside again. Peering back through the doorway, he saw Jun YanZhi pick up one of the red fruit and put it in his mouth.
To go as far as to s.n.a.t.c.h food from the large tortoise……
In the end, he found that Jun YanZhi very much liked to eat small fruit. He enjoyed eating anything between the size of a jujube (Chinese date) and a longan, like that red cherry-sized fruit. If it didn't come from Wen Jing, he wouldn't want it. But as soon as Wen Jing took something out, sooner or later, they would one by one end up in his mouth.
Wen Jing sewed him a small bag. Filling it with small spirit fruit, he could hang it at his waist and take some out at any time.

Spring became summer and the weather turned hot. Jun YanZhi headed down the mountain on business and was away for over two months.
One day Wen Jing was in the courtyard cultivating 《Jade Pure Qi》. Around him, the spiritual energy surged as someone dropped out of the sky.
Caught off guard, Wen Jing jumped.
“Ma, master?”
It had been over half a year since he'd last seen Duan Xuan. As expected his face was once again covered with a thick unkempt beard, his hair was in disarray, and he didn't seem to have the slightest care for his own appearance. With an expression as cold and sharp as a knife blade, he tossed a manual 《Lesser Yang Art》.
“……thank you, Master.” It was clear to Wen Jing that Duan Xuan wanted to pa.s.s on this technique and he promptly picked it up.
Without a word, Duan Xuan turned a flew away.
《Lesser Yang Art》was a top-ranked auxiliary technique that worked with warm Yang const.i.tutions. Its purpose was to manipulate warm yang energy in order to promote fluid control.
Overjoyed, Wen Jing carefully studied the manual.
He had to admit Duan Xuan's strange approach to education had some effect. His comprehension was low, but six months of careful study of the merit law's difficult and obscure language eventually resulted in some improvement in his understanding.
The so-called aim of using one's own experiences to learn and study really left a deep impression and resulted in being more likely to deduce many things.
Strange to say, after this, Duan Xuan came every few days to inspect his progress. Although he only stood to the side and watched, Wen Jing was on pins and needles. He felt as though a drawn whip lay behind him and he dared not neglect his cultivation in the slightest.
Less than a month later, Wen Jing used the 《Lesser Yang Art》to guide the warm yang energy within his body. The energy surged within his body and he broke out into a sweat all over. Clenching his teeth he persevered for another half day until he began to feel his consciousness going fuzzy and restless.
Just as he began to feel unwell he felt a rush of cool energy flow into him from his shoulders.
After a while, the heat in his body gradually faded away. Wen Jing opened his eyes and saw a man standing beside him dressed in black clothes. Slender phoenix eyes gazed at him.
Jun YanZhi pulled Wen Jing to his feet and wiped the perspiration from his forehead: “What caused this?”
Wen Jing then spoke of Duan Xuan's delivery of the 《Lesser Yang Art》, saying: “It's probably because I was too impatient these last few days and cultivated too hard.”
“The peak examination will begin in less than half a year, presumably Master wishes to pay special attention to you.” Jun YanZhi's expression relaxed and he said mildly, “It seems you've reached Qi Refining level 8.”
Wen Jing concentrated and rotated his spiritual energy through one cycle and said with delight: “Qi Refining level 8.”
Jun YanZhi nodded: “……you've ascended very quickly.”
“I'll make you something to eat.” Wen Jing happily headed towards the kitchen.
After dinner, Jun YanZhi played with the large tortoise on the bed for some time. He showed no interest in leaving and his robe had become somewhat wrinkled.
Wen Jing took down his clothes that had been in the courtyard drying in the sun and told him: “Senior brother Jun, I'm heading to the waterfall to bathe. Can you close the door when you go?.”
Jun Yanzhi's eyes half closed and he pulled out a red fruit from the pouch at his waist and took a bite. He said mildly: “I wish to bathe as well. I'll come with you.”
Wen Jing looked at the slender figure that appeared in the doorway: “Uh……ok.”
The breeze was refres.h.i.+ng that summer night and the two walked single file through the mountain. Wen Jing asked: “Senior brother, this next trip down the mountain, will you be finished with your matters?”
Jun YanZhi lowered his gaze: “They'll be settled.”
“That's good……”
Not long after, the two arrived at the base of a waterfall.
Fragments of moonlight poured onto the surface of the lake like water. Their surroundings were full of the sound of water.
Droplets of water landed on their bodies and wet their clothes. Jun YanZhi slowly began to disrobe, slowly revealing the figure underneath.
Wen Jing put down his clean clothes. Raising his head, he caught a glimpse and promptly became dazed as he stared blankly at him.
Before his eyes, the man's robe dropped to the ground revealing his inner garments. His collar gaped open exposing graceful collarbones. His garments clung damply to his figure along with his hair. With lowered eyes, he said: “Junior brother…….”
“Wh, what?”
At that moment Wen Jing gave off the impression of a small animal longing to throw himself over and take a bite. He clenched his fist.
“Junior brother, why aren't you disrobing?” His quiet voice was soft and gentle.
“I……”
“Come.”
“Senior brother, You go ahead and finish bathing. I'll go back to my room to wash up……”
On saying this, he turned and fled.
Jun YanZhi immediately stopped undressing.
He looked at the back of the fleeing person, his expression growing dark and dissatisfied.
He coldly washed up, dressed, and at last restored his mood.
Fifteen and a half……sure enough, still too early……
No hurry, he had plenty of patience. He could slowly wait.
Jun YanZhi walked slowly back to Wen Jing's room only to see the dim light of a candle as the youth sat on the bed and dried his wet hair.
“Ah……Senior brother Jun?”
Jun YanZhi picked up the storage bag on the table and said lightly: “I came back to get something. Go to sleep.”
As he said this he walked to Wen Jing's side and casually touched the large turtle while breathing out onto Wen Jing's face.
“I'm leaving.”
As he said this, he shut the door and was gone.
“Good night senior brother.”
Wen Jing looked out the window as he waited for his hair to dry. He fought to keep his eyes open. Tired, he lay down on the bed and a moment later there was silence.
The door made a slight noise as the figure of a slender man slowly entered. Towards the large tortoise, he released a bit of spiritual energy.
The head of the tortoise moved and it crawled down and anxiously headed to the doorway.
Jun YanZhi looked at the sleeping youth for a moment and then extinguished the candle on the table. Arriving at the bed, he pulled Wen Jing into his arms and softly stroked his hair.
Leaving for two and a half months had clarified many things. At this moment his only wanted to embrace the youth and sleep.
He lay Wen Jing's body back down on the bed and briefly kissed his lips. A hand wandered into the young man's clothes. Arriving at his waist, he stroked and caressed the soft skin without restraint.
The thing below slowly raised its head.
Jun YanZhi panted softly. He kissed deeper, wreaking havoc in his mouth.
It was the first time he had felt this way.
He wanted to invade, suppress, and join them together.
Some things were a matter of instinct and didn't require instruction.
I don't like giving out spoilers but that's a wicked cliffhanger. So, FYI, the activities here do not continue into the next chapter. (〃ω〃)
