I Am Legend 18 Boss Fight 1

The team walked through the pa.s.sageway. It was very dark and the air felt moist.

After sometime, they arrived in a small and white room, similarly like a laboratory kind of room. Inside the room, there were many type of monsters corpses on the tables and fluids with different colors inside transparent gla.s.s tubes, just at the side of the room.

The room wasn't bright nor dark but rather, it was quite dim. Smell of rotted flesh was in the air, must probably coming from the dead monsters. Some of the elves had turned pale from the smell and wanted to vomit, while the four big shots, Ryth, Hill, Llyod, and Woodgard would just covered their noses.

"Ugh, what the heck is this place?" Ryth thought to himself, feeling disgusted. "These are all monsters' corpses… yet, the dungeon boss itself is a monster. Is it doing an experiment on its own race? This is just like a mad human being doing experiments on other human beings as well, like in the movies."

"Looks like we are up against a mad monster," Ryth mused. "No wonder there are feeling of evil miasma around here."

"Yeah, but I think every evil being is mad like this one, Ku ku ku!"

"You still can laugh at this situation? Look at your surrounding, it's so gross." Said Ryth to Daedalus, as he touched his forehead, getting dizzy because of the smell.

"Ku ku ku!"

Ryth look at his minimap, there is a red dot in the next room.

"Everyone, the boss is on the next room, be ready." Said Ryth to the team.

"Yes!"

They slowly walked to the corner of the room. There was a huge door, hidden by bunch of broken cupboards. Llyod and Hill pried away the broken cupboard from the door and slowly pushed the door. As the door opened, a loud and cracked voice can be heard from inside the large room.

"GAGAGA! SO YOU LOT CAN MAKE IT HERE, EH?"

They both turned to the voice and saw a human-like creature, standing in the middle of the room, in front of a large table. It wore a lab-suit with a large red stain. Apparently, if one can look closely, the red stain appears to be blood. It's taller than Llyod and not only is the lab suit was red, its skin was also red.

As they come closer, they could that it has two horns on its horn with sharp eyes, a scar on one of its eyes.

"A high orc!" exclaimed one of the elves.

Ryth immediately activated his skill to see the status and saw its name, race, level, job and HP bar.

The level is quite low for a boss, however, its HP was quite high, possibly due to its race of being an orc and the effect of the miasma.

"GAGAGA! very nice! I have many experiment materials coming for me!" The boss licked its lips as he watched Ryth and the group with excitement in its eyes.

"Ugh, gross... what a weirdo." Ryth wiped the cold sweat on his forehead.

"It sure is... I get the creeps, just looking at it." Llyod added.

"But it is definitely strong so be careful." Ryth warned everyone.

The high orc has 2 swords on its left and right waist. Seems like it can battle both hands. This may pose as a problem for Ryth and the others to battle against.

"It's swordman, dual-wielder, on top of that." Hill said.

"Get ready!" Ryth shouted, "Archer, make some distance! Llyod, tank it! Hill, make sure it has no time to breath, attack its blind spot! I will pair up with Llyod!"

"Sir! Our side jobs are healer! We can take turns to heal the team and attack the enemies!" Said one of the elves. He gestured at the other 4 elves behind him, who was also holding one-hand swords.

"Eh? You guys are healers?"

"Yes! We are combat healers!"

"Ah, I see... so they have cleric as their second job. That's good." Ryth thought to himself.

"Okay! Two of you, attack it with me! the other three, heal whoever gets hurt! But your priority is to heal Llyod! Swap with your friend if you ran out of mana and attack it while replenis.h.i.+ng your mana! Normal attack is okay but just make sure that the boss has no time to react for counter!"

"Understood!"

"Woodgard, I'm counting on you to deal the damage!" Ryth said.

"Yes!"

"Daedalus, maybe I will need to use the new weapon. Be on guard. I might call on you at any time to exchange my weapon."

"Roger that, partner! Ku ku ku!"

Although being a swordman is strong where they could deal high damage but unfortunately, Ryth's level is low, compared to the boss. Hence, the damage that he can dealt with are quite limited. So, it is more realistic to make Woodgard the main attacker, while Ryth and the others help to fend off the boss's attacks from Woodgard.

Llyod ran forward and shouted.

{Battle Cry}!

"Oh? You want to play with me? Sure, GAGAGA!"

'Taunted' text appeared above its head.

The boss ran forward and took out one of its sword. The agility of the boss was fast as it swept the sword across.

"Clang!"

The sound of the boss's sword and Llyod's sword clashed sounded throughout the room, the wind caused by the clash blew the laboratorium tools that were near them.

Luckily, Llyod was able to fend off all of its attacks with the help of Hill and the archers.

"Attack it while it's still taunted by Llyod's skill! Hold nothing back!" Ryth shouted to the team.

The elves and Hill began to attack the monster non-stop, dealing many damages. The damage it received appeared and vanished at visible speed.

Ryth ran to the right side of Llyod and the boss, unsheated [Vengeance] and activated his skills.

{Cut}!

The {Whirlwind} skill dealt around 550 damage per attack while some of it were critical hits.

After Ryth done with {Whirlwind}, he activated {Stream of Light}. Six slashes landed on its body, it dealt 1800 or more damage per attack, some of it were critical hits as well.

Then, Ryth ran to a nearby table, his right leg stepped on its edge. Using the edge, he boosted himself and jumped backwards. In mid air, he activated a skill as he decend from above the boss's head.

The attack damage appeared on its head, with 50% chance of critical hit. Ryth was lucky enough this time.

"GAAAGH!" the boss screamed in pain, "You won't get away with this! Looks like I have to eliminate you first!" it turned towards Ryth, swung its sword using a skill {Cut}.

"Watch out!" Llyod shouted. The taunt skill wore off pretty quickly. It seemed that the miasma effect help to speed up the duration of the debuff and taunt skills.

Just when Ryth readied himself to use {Deflect} to block the attack, Woodgard appeared on its back and stab the boss.

"GAAAAGGH!" it screamed in pain again as Woodgard keep attacking it nonstop.

"His attack is crazy! When he use {Stealth} and then activated {Backstab}, the damage is multiplied!" Ryth mused as he move backward to distance himself from the boss and wait for his skills's cooldowns. "And his normal attack is already crazy enough to deal huge damage!"

The teamwork of Woodgard and Llyod were amazing. Just from the two of them, the damage that they dealt with was quite huge that the boss's HP fell to 60% in no time.

Ryth's skills's cooldown was already over. He ran towards the boss again as he activated {Burrowed Soul}.

{Dual Slash}!

He attacked its right side waist with it.

The {Dual Slash} attack was indeed terrifying and with dual [Vengeance], each dealt 10100 damage. Followed by Hill's {Skull Piercer}, the boss's HP fell madly, hit the 50% mark.

"Seems like I have to take you all more seriously." The boss took out the other sword, and its fighting stance changed.

"Everyone! Be careful! The boss's attack patterns will change from here on out!" Ryth shouted, the {Burrowed Soul}'s duration was already done, he continued, "Daedalus, give me the [Ryuujin's Will]!"

"Alright!"

The Lightning sword appeared on Ryth's left hand, the katana let out a blue lightning spark, Its color is white and the grip is painted in dark blue.

"Hill, cripple it! Once its effect is gone, Llyod, taunt it again!"

"Understood!"

"Woodgard, deal as many damage as you can!"

Hill use {Cripple} with his new bow, each cool down only lasted for only 2 seconds.

Woodgard moved forward with his pair of daggers, quickly use {Quick Step} to get nearer to the boss and activated {Dual Stab} to stab the boss.

"GAAARGH!" the boss screamed in pain as it got paralyzed by the effect of {Dual Stab} for 4 seconds. The team used this chance to attack it without delay.

Hill's {Skull Piercer} dealt an astronomical damage, while Llyod swung his great sword and also dealt quite a damage. All of them using their skills nonstop.

When Ryth saw the HP of the boss already hit the 30% mark, he quickly ran towards it, jumped and activated his skills simultaneously.

{Half Moon}, followed by it, he use {Cut}, {Stab}, and {Whirlwind}. The boss screamed. Once its paralyzed effect had wore off, it swung its two swords.

Ryth use {Deflect} to block it as he activated another skill, {Stream of Light}!

The damage was doubled since he wielded 2 swords, [Vengeance] and [Ryuujin's Will].

The damage total was over 20.000. The boss couldn't react as it was slowed down by [Vengeance]'s effect and [Paralyzed] by [Ryuujin's Will]'s effect.

Although the effects from the attack were low, it was still good enough. Usually, when dealing against a boss, effects from the attack may have no effect or little effect.

After the {Stream of Light} skill ended, Ryth use {Lightning Piercer], the active skill of the lightning katana.

"GAAAGH! I will kill all of you!" the boss screamed in anger.

It immediately increased its speed, attacking blindly. Some of its attacks managed to injure some of the elves. The elves who were in charge of healing the team quickly cast their spells to heal them.

Llyod used his skill {Heavy Swing}, {Breaker}, and {Dual Swing}.

The boss managed to avoid the skills, except the {Heavy Swing} as it nearly pushed him away.

"Clang!" The boss managed to hit Llyod's armor, but its sword couldn't penetrate through it. Yet, imjury was still done as it did managed to damage the armor. This is quite surprising because Llyod's armor was made from ebony ingots!

"It's going on a berserk state! It imbued its swords with magic and miasma! Be careful! Elves, go back to where the archers are and focus on healing! The three of us will handle it!" Ryth shouted as cold sweat began to fell from his forehead.

"This is bad! We have no pure tanker on this raid since there wasn't any tanker in the dark elf's village! We need to end this quickly." Ryth gritted his teeth and said to Daedalus. "We will be using it!"

"That? Are you sure? The cooldown is a whole full day. You won't be able to use it for 24 hours."

"It's okay! Just turned to the mana tracer mode!"

"Very well!" Daedalus shouted as the [Eye of Daedalus] turned red.

The boss HP has already hit the 10% mark. It howled in anger, "GAAAAARGH! I'M MAD, DIE!" it grabbed a sword near it and put it on its mouth.

Its whole body shrank and now the high orc was as tall as Ryth. But the miasma gus.h.i.+ng out from its body became even darker. Now the boss wielded 3 swords!

"Watch out! This is its last berserk stage! Although its body shrank, but its speed increased a lot!" Ryth shouted to warn his teammates, "Llyod, use your taunt skill! Healer all of you, heal Llyod!"

Ryth raised his right hand to the air as a dark green light gushed out from [Vengeance]. Power started gathered to Ryth as he shouted, "{Beyond the Boundary}!"
