Chapter 18: Feeling About
Defeating an amateur didn’t really arouse any excitement in Ai Hui. However, in that short battle, he felt his progress. His increase in elemental energy had a very straightforward influence to his strength. The metal energy he absorbed from the Metal Suspending PaG.o.da was many times more pure than any ordinary metal energy. The elemental energy within his body could still be considered as weak, but to Ai Hui, the three fold growth meant that he had more s.p.a.ce to do many other things.
Ai Hui arrived outside the door of the Metal Suspending PaG.o.da. This time, he didn’t rashly go in, he had learned a deep lesson last time.
The wild wind in the paG.o.da’s interior still whistled about in an intimidating way.
Ai Hui took out the rope he had just bought. One end was attached to a boulder the size of a wicker basket, and the other end of the rope was tied around his waist. Lifting the boulder, he threw it into the paG.o.da.
The rope suddenly grew taut and an enormously strong force propelled over. Ai Hui had long since been prepared for this, but he still staggered due to the pulling force.
The metal wind in the paG.o.da was truly too berserk. The boulder was blown flipping as slamming sounds echoed. The force that came from the rope far surpa.s.sed Ai Hui’s expectation. He put in great effort to stabilize his figure, but he still was pulled a bit closer and closer toward the paG.o.da door.
A sliver of lingering fear surfaced within Ai Hui’s heart. For him to come out of there alive last time, his luck was truly not bad.
Suddenly, the rope loosened, and the force pulling him forward suddenly disappeared. Ai Hui, who wasn’t prepared for that, fell backwards. His reaction speed was extremely fast, the instant he was about to fall on the floor, his hand lightly pushed at the ground. His body rose up and steadily landed on the ground.
Since the rope had already snapped, Ai Hui pulled it outside and discovered that there were many miniature holes that looked like pin holes on its surface.
Ai Hui shook his head. Gra.s.s ropes were still no good. The little densely dotted holes on the surface were made by the silver strands of metal element from the metal wind inside. He’d reckon that the rock was probably not going to last very long too. As expected, the continuous “bang bang” ramming sounds within the paG.o.da suddenly faded along with a crash. The boulder had probably been broken down into a pile of little stones.
The metal wind was truly formidable!
No wonder it was a cultivation site one could only go to after opening the natal palace.
Luckily, Ai Hui made some other preparations, and dragged out a bundle of iron chains. The iron chains were as thick as a wrist, and dragging it to the Metal Suspending PaG.o.da had almost exhausted Ai Hui to death. He tossed one end of the iron chains into the paG.o.da, then dragged it out after a while. The chains were still perfectly undamaged. When he saw the iron railing last time, he thought that an iron chain ought to be able to withstand the metal wind.
Ai Hui used a huge amount of effort and a whole hour to drag over a rock that was even higher than himself from very far away. He had no other choice, all the rocks in the surroundings, whether they were big or small, had all been broken into pieces by him last time.
He tied one end of the iron chain around the rock, and the other around his waist.
After confirming that it was firmly tied, Ai Hui took a deep breath and jumped into the Metal Suspending PaG.o.da.
As soon as he entered the Metal Suspending PaG.o.da, Ai Hui was lifted upwards by the berserking metal wind. As the world spun around him, an extremely strong force suddenly arrived at his waist, nearing snapping it. The iron chain around his waist was stretched perfectly straight. Seeing that his method was effective, Ai Hui couldn’t help but heave a sign of relief in his heart. But before he had enough time to be happy, his back heavily knocked against the wall. He promptly held his head in his hands and curled up, despite feeling as though he was bouncing all over the place like ball.
The amount of time Ai Hui spent here this time was shorter than the last, and he did not wait for himself to reach his limit to come out. Rather, the instant he slightly felt that he was going to burst, he crawled out along the iron chain.
Ai Hui, who had come out by pulling at the iron chain, heaved a long sigh. The outside and inside of the paG.o.da were two different worlds. Ai Hui managed his time very well, this time, his mind was clear-headed, and he even had energy left over.
He began to beat at his own body.
After he had finished cultivating last time, he was reflecting upon how he should absorb the metal energy. There was no need to doubt Ai Hui’s pursuit of strength, but even if that was the case, he still would not want himself to be beaten everyday until five in the morning. That was absolutely not some kind of beautiful experience, he did not want it to happen a second time.
So he thought of this present method.
If he wanted to absorb the metal energy, the first step he had to take was to scatter the silver strands of metal element in his body. If he didn’t absorb that many silver metal wind strands the first time, then maybe he could handle it himself.
It was similarly a beating, beating himself felt completely different then getting beat by another person.
Ai Hui beat his own body without holding back. At the same time, he carefully observed the changes happening within his body. How much strength was needed? What kind of technique was the most effective? They all had to be slowly felt about.
His own apt.i.tude was terrible, and he was also poor, so the only thing he could do was to think more about it.
He gradually felt like he seemed to have gotten the hang of it, but very quickly, he discovered a different problem. He couldn’t reach the metal energy in the muscles on his back. After a brief period of pondering, his gaze fell upon the Metal Suspending PaG.o.da.
This paG.o.da had been blown at by the metal wind for so many years, so it ought to be quite st.u.r.dy. Ai Hui might as well use his back to ram at the paG.o.da’s walls since there was no other item that was more suitable. Very quickly, he found out that he thought too much. The paG.o.da’s walls were as hard as iron. After knocking against it two or three times, the bones in his entire body had nearly all fallen apart.
There were still quite a lot of silver metal element strands within the muscles of his back that had not scattered. Ai Hui suddenly thought of the move, which rammed into the lungs, that he used in his battle with that swollen amateur guy.
The move that left a deep impression on Ai Hui was still nevertheless the one used in that time’s blind battle. He had firmly locked the opponent in place, and the opponent tried to use it to throw him off. That time, the other party’s power was oddly huge, he had nearly let go, which greatly shocked him. Due to his former years of highly intense physical activities, he was pretty confident in his brute strength.
He could sense that his opponent’s elemental energy was also not that strong, and they were not too physically strong either, yet they could release such an explosive power. It was clear that their accomplishments were quite profound.
Ai Hui carefully pondered over it for quite a long time, he also knew this move. In the Savage Territories, he had learned many of these kinds of moves that were unsystematic, unusually fragmented, yet were still extraordinarily useful.
But he had rarely used them. With his strength, if he had been locked in place by the enemy, he was basically dead, and would not even have the chance to use that sort of move.
He was inspired today, and used it to knock the swollen amateur guy flying, which allowed him to see that there was another place to use this move.
He began to repeatedly use this move against the paG.o.da walls.
Not long after, he discovered something nice. Inside the paG.o.da when he was curled into a ball, the location in which the most silver strands of metal element were, was exactly his back. Not only was the explosive power shocking, it also had a vibrating effect.
No wonder his own arm had felt numb in that blind battle, so that’s how it is.
Seeing his own way of thinking being enormously effective boosted Ai Hui’s morale, he began to earnestly work even harder.
Once the silver strands of metal element were all scattered loose, Ai Hui went into cross-legged meditation and began to absorb the metal energy.
After an hour, Ai Hui opened his eyes. He could feel his and his elemental energy’s growth. Even though the improvement was smaller than last night’s, this was within expectation. Thinking about that Elemental Repairing Soup, Ai Hui’s flesh started to hurt for a bit. Although last night’s progress was outstanding, the expenditure was gigantic. Today’s progress might be smaller, but it had barely costed anything.
Even though this kind of cultivation method was long and arduous, to Ai Hui, as long as he could see hope, he did not mind it at all.
He, who wasn’t willing to sink down to depravity amidst darkness and inferiority, didn’t mind at all.
