A painter; the s. of a drawing master of Leeds; b. 1815. First exhibited at the Royal Academy, 1831; obtained a cartoon prize of 300, at the Westminster Hall Exhibition, 1843; elected an a.s.sociate 1844; elected an R.A. 1848; has executed frescos for the New House of Lords.
