Mirandawas.e.xhaustedaswellastearful.Eagler,whowashavingtoaskhis questionsovertheclumsybarrierofthefrontseats,madeasketchystabat pattingherhandinafatherlyway.Sheinterpretedtheintentionbehindthe gestureandwepttheharder,chokingoverthedetailsofredswimmingtrunks,no shoes,blueeyes,fairhair,noscars,suntannedskin...they'dbeenatthe seasidefornearlytwoweeks...theyweregoinghomeonSat.u.r.day.
