Su Lingchuan's heart relaxed a little, but his face did not show it at all while he said Su Qingbai should be shut in the house. These days, Su Qingbai hadn't been let out of the house.

Not seeing Su Qingbai, Jiang Mao had no clue where to start. It was not that he couldn't find a way to see Su Qingbai; he went quietly several times in the absence of Su Lingchuan. The first few times, Su Qingbai ignored him, obviously still angry.

He could understand Su Qingbai. After all, he personally decided to meet Su Lingchuan and had not consulted Su Qingbai beforehand. Su Qingbai felt that he had been wronged and was angry.

But a few days later, Jiang Mao saw that Su Qingbai had lost a lot of weight. On that day, he made a few small side dishes and brought lunch box to give him. He accompanied him to chat for a few days and said a lot of good words. After several times, Su Qingbai seemed less angry.

“Don't come.” Su Qingbai thought for a moment before saying, “Be careful not to be caught by my Dad. This matter is going to take time and spring ploughing is coming soon. I am the only abled-bodied in my house; my Dad won't keep me in for too long.”

Jiang Mao stroked his head. “I have a way not to be caught by your Dad.”

Later, he would come again. Every time he came, he sent meals and chatted up. Even that one time in the daytime when Su Family had something to do outside, Jiang Mao also went to Su Qingbai's bed.

Afterwards, Su Qingbai wore black face every time he mentioned it.

That morning, Su Qingbai didn't dare to take a bath in broad daylight, holding in Jiang Mao's stuffs for a day, in order not to let his Lao Zi find anything unusual. By the time he washed up in the evening, there's not much left.

Besides working so hard at Su Qingbai's side, Jiang Mao also did not relax at Su Lingchuan's side. Su Lingchuan's school was very close to his house. Jiang Mao often went to Su Lingchuan to help, but Su Lingchuan refused.

In this way, Jiang Mao also did not give up. If he wanted to make off with other people's son, he should always show his determination and sincerity.

In spring, wild flowers, weeds, wild vegetables and everything broke out of the soil.

Madam Su liked to go picking wild vegetables with a group of women in the village, and not only did she like to cook for her husband, youngest son and second grandson, but she also gave a lot to her eldest son's and second son's families.

Arriving at the village, there were not any past good friends. Madam Su and the women in the village had little communication, so she didn't go out very often. She either shut in the house doing ch.o.r.es or playing with grandson. Su Lingchuan had observed all this.

Although there was no shortage of wild vegetables picked by Madam Su at home, Su Lingchuan still left her do as she pleased, considering it as her way of relaxing.

Madam Su went there several times and always went out after breakfast in the morning. She didn't come back until mid-afternoon, so no one to feed two adult and a little men in the house.

Jiang Mao took the opportunity to show his courtesy. Before the meal time, he sent food to Su Family very early. Then, before Su Lingchuan came back, he left early.

When Su Lingchuan came back, he saw Su Qingbai father and son sitting around a table of food and drink. Contrary to Su Qingbai who did not move much, at present, Su Caicai who only knew to eat, sleep and play, had already unable to wait and started eating.

Upon seeing Su Lingchuan came back, Su Caicai grabbed a piece of meat and went to Su Lingchuan. “Grandpa~~”

Su Lingchuan frowned and embraced his grandson, whose little mouth and little claws were greasy. “How did you eat to turn up like that?”

Su Caicai couldn't understand. He tore the piece of meat in his mouth and stuffed it into Grandpa's mouth.

Su Lingchuan didn't have to wonder who had brought it. He had the intention not to eat the dish cooked by that man, but Su Caicai was insistent to give Grandpa the piece of un.o.bservable meat.

Su Qingbai understood his son very well. This kid was usually very talkative and sometimes he stubbornly refused to listen to anyone, so he would do what he thought of. Of course, those things were just eating, drinking and playing.

Su Lingchuan had no choice but to bite it.

“Dad.” Su Qingbai whispered alongside. “I'll pour water for you to wash up. After was.h.i.+ng up, quickly eat.”

After was.h.i.+ng, three men in the family sat around the table again.

When Madam Su left, she left them dried food. Su Lingchuan went to eat Madam Su's dried food.

“Dad, don't look for it. I had given mother's dried food to Er-Ge.” Su Er-sao took care of Xiao Rui and sometimes she was unable to take care of Su Qingtong.

Su Lingchuan had to sit down and fumingly stared at Su Qingbai.

“Dad, have a taste. He made all of these for you.” Su Qingbai filled Su Lingchuan's bowl and praising his man not in least modest, “This, and also this, he made them delicious.”

Su Lingchuan wasn't the one who treated himself so badly for that sake of pride. Plus, with Jiang Mao's diligence in wandering in front of him these days and with his experience of his son giving birth for other man's child, Su Lingchuan's acceptance of man with man was very high, and his heart was slowly loosening.

He raised the bowl and had a taste. He got to say that the youngster was a good cook.

…..

As spring ploughing approached, Su Lingchuan had no intention of asking Su Qingbai to stay at home.

Just then, Su Family received a letter from Su Er-sao's parents from the capital, stating that they were coming to the border town to visit their family.

Putting the letter on the table, Su Family sat around, and no one spoke.

“When are my Dad and they coming?” Su Er-sao was the first to speak, she was obviously very happy. When she came to the border town with her husband's family, she had a bad life. She was poor and tired. She also suffered a lot of grievances. Su Er-sao was very happy to have her wealthy family supporting her.

On the other hand, Su Qingtong, who was accustomed to silence and seldom changed his face, frowned at Su Er-sao and said, “What are they doing here?”

Su Qingtong would never forget what his good father-in-law did when his father was framed.

He didn't ask his father-in-law to do anything for his family, but what did his good father-in-law do? Not to mention father-in-law never said a good word for his family, even in order to save himself, he stepped on his father's foot. Although the foot he stepped on was not the key to overturn his father.

After Su Er-sao learnt about how her father's handle things at that time, she immediately went to him to complain. She even firmly accompanied him to the border town in accordance with the past friends.h.i.+p between the two families. Su Lingchuan did not take it hard, but he was not a saint. For the Sun family's way of handling things, it could not be regarded as if it had not happened.

[Su-ersao have a choice whether to follow her husband or not, I guessed]

Su Lingchuan thought; the Sun Family didn't come to see them off when they left, and it was impossible for them to come thousands of miles away only to visit and see them, the son-in-law's family.

Su Lingchuan was a little upset, so he excused himself by going to see if there was shortage of water in the fields and going out to relax.

Recently in preparing for food, Su Qingbai always felt greasy and had no appet.i.te. Jiang Mao came to the riverside to catch fish and make him boiled fish with pickled cabbage.

And his son, too, should eat more fish to be smart.

Su Lingchuan, who came out to relax, happened to meet Jiang Mao, who greeted him from afar. “Uncle.”

Su Lingchuan's steps that were meant to turn and leave stopped.

With the bad news of Sun family ahead, seeing Jiang Mao who was carrying fish into the bucket and coming over in a hurry after seeing him, Su Lingchuan felt that the youngster was not so irksome.
