Jian Dan hardly ever went up from the front desk; the last time seemed to be several years ago, and the staff at the front desk had changed countless times since then.

“I’m looking for your Mr. Chu, could you swipe the door for me?”

Do you have an appointment?”
“Appointment? No!”
“I’m sorry, Miss, but without an appointment, I can’t let you in!”
“I’m here to see my husband, what do I need an appointment for?”
“Husband? You mean, you are Mr. Chu’s…”

“I’m so sorry, Mrs. Chu, I’ll swipe the card for you right now!”
