IP Chapter 97.2
Incurable Pain | Chapter 97.2
During dinner, Bai Xunyin asked Yu Baiqi how he was doing in kindergarten.
The little boy tilted his head, thinking for a while, before slowly saying, “There are fifteen cla.s.smates.”
Bai Xunyin had taught him how to count before. Their whole family were science geniuses, and Yu Baiqi, at his young age, was good at ‘mathematics’.
Bai Xunyin couldn’t help but smile and used a soft tissue to wipe the sauce from the corner of his mouth before continuing, “Did you make any good friends?”
“Yes!”
Yu Baiqi smiled, lifting his spoon with a crisp voice.
“Xiaohao.”
Hmm, it sounded like a boy’s name. Indeed, little boys loved to play with other little boys.
Before Yu Baiqi turned two, he actually liked to play with Ah Mo’s Sheng Wu, but once he started talking, it seemed like he knew the difference between ‘boys and girls’.
Bai Xunyin thought amusingly and fed him a meatball.
After Yu Baiqi slowly chewed and swallowed, she asked softly, “Baby has made a good friend, that’s great. How about the teacher? Do you like the teacher?”
In a child’s learning age, the teacher played a very important role, almost more important than parents.
Adults didn’t need to teach children to respect teachers because once students stepped into the cla.s.sroom, respect and fear for teachers were almost innate. But Bai Xunyin hoped that Yu Baiqi could feel a sense of joy from his teacher from an early age.
“I like Teacher Wu.”
Yu Baiqi’s eyes curved as he struggled to remember the conversation he had with Teacher Wu that day.
“Teacher Wu called me Xiaobai and said I’m cute and smart. She also asked what Dad’s name was.”
Bai Xunyin was taken aback. “Asked about Dad?”
“Um.”
Yu Baiqi nodded. Children at this stage were in the stage of imitating adults. He seemed curious when he saw his mother, so he repeated the questions from the day in the same manner as Wu Qingqing—
“The teacher asked, um, what’s Little Bai’s dad’s name? Where does he work? She also asked why Mom didn’t come to pick up Little Bai.”
Bai Xunyin fell silent for a moment, then suddenly laughed.
She pinched her son’s chubby cheeks, picked him up to wash his face and paws. Occasionally, she looked up at herself in the mirror, with a smiling face but a hint of coldness in her pupils.
She hadn’t expected that Teacher Wu would ask these questions. It seemed she would have to go to pick up Yu Baiqi tomorrow.
Most likely, it was because of Yu Luoyin’s natural charm that attracted others.

- Procreation Campaign
In the afternoon, several patients injured in car accidents were brought to the hospital, and Yu Luoyin a.s.sisted in a major surgery from the afternoon until late at night.
He stood in intense concentration for more than seven hours straight, feeling as if his shoulders and back didn’t belong to him anymore.
When Yu Luoyin drove back home, it was already around eleven.
With a child at home, they naturally went to bed early, so it was quiet and dark. Yu Luoyin quietly entered the house, not even taking off his shoes, when he heard a ‘click’ sound, and the small night light in the living room turned on.
He looked surprised at Bai Xunyin, who was wearing a nightgown and sitting on the sofa. The woman’s large eyes were looking at him deliberately, seemingly waiting, with no hint of drowsiness.
Yu Luoyin was pleasantly surprised and approached, lowering his voice to ask, “Waiting for me?”
What else?
Bai Xunyin blinked a few times, catching the clear fatigue on Yu Luoyin’s face before standing up.
“Let me make you a bowl of noodles.”
Last year, she didn’t even know how to boil water, let alone cook.
But this year, she had learned some simple dishes—though they weren’t particularly tasty.
But Yu Luoyin was always working late. Even if they couldn’t enjoy a perfect dinner, having something homemade was better than takeout or going hungry.
As for why she didn’t consider him cooking…
Bai Xunyin always felt that someone who had just finished several hours of surgery shouldn’t be cooking, just as Yu Luoyin wouldn’t let her do it when she came back late from work.
The warm orange light in the kitchen was gentle, s.h.i.+ning on the slender figure of the woman in a nightgown.
She clumsily cut the tomatoes and spring onions on the chopping board, her movements awkward but earnest. Meanwhile, a pot of water was boiling on the stove, emitting steam.
It was a peaceful and serene moment.
Suddenly, Yu Luoyin felt his previously growling stomach quiet down. He went over, gently embraced Bai Xunyin’s slender waist from behind, and lightly kissed the nape of her neck.
“Wife, aren’t you tired?”
Bai Xunyin also had to get up early for work and even had to work overtime, yet she was waiting for him at this late hour.
Unconsciously, Yu Luoyin felt that both of them had turned into genuine ‘workaholics’, whipped by time like stubborn donkeys.
They should… they should find some time to rest properly.
Yu Luoyin thought to himself.
“Not too much.”
Bai Xunyin’s voice was calm and gentle. She lightly nudged him with her elbow.
“Go sit at the table. It’ll be ready soon.”
She wasn’t good at presentation, but she was fast.
Before long, a bowl of hot soup noodles, garnished with green onions and red tomatoes, was placed on the table by her.
Yu Luoyin didn’t mind the simple soup; he blew on it a couple of times and started eating heartily.
Sitting across from him, Bai Xunyin took advantage of this rare moment of peace and quiet to tell Yu Luoyin about her brief conversation with Gu Yan earlier in the evening.
“Mom actually has a point. At my age, this promotion might be the best opportunity.”
Whenever she talked about this, Bai Xunyin felt a bit uneasy and sighed softly.
“But going to the inst.i.tute will definitely make me busier.”
Logically, she should accept this proposal and prepare for it.
But emotionally… they were both too busy, and it wouldn’t be fair to Yu Baiqi.
Missing out on their child’s growth was something they didn’t want, especially with Yu Luoyin’s example in front of them—everyone knew the importance of parents to a child.
Yu Luoyin obviously understood the dilemma. He pondered for a moment before speaking.
“Actually, when I was a child, I didn’t resent my parents because they weren’t around to accompany me,” Yu Luoyin smiled, a bit embarra.s.sed.
“It was because I couldn’t see them more than twice a year, and I could only occasionally see my uncle and the housekeeper face to face.”
Because when he was young, it was the busiest time for Gu Yan and Yu Yuan.
Later, they weren’t as busy, and he didn’t need so much affection.
But that wasn’t the point; what he wanted to say was…
“But we won’t be like that.”
Yu Luoyin raised his eyes and looked at Bai Xunyin firmly.
“Even if we’re busy, we’ll come home, we’ll value Baiqi’s education, and we won’t let him feel lonely. He won’t be the next me.”
“So, feel free to do what you want. Get promoted, go to the inst.i.tute, as long as you want to.”
Bai Xunyin knew Yu Luoyin was a very clever person who could quickly understand her thoughts.
What she was worried about, what she cared about…
But she didn’t expect him to let go without hesitation and provide perfect explanations and support.
For a moment, her fingertips felt a bit numb from the vibration of her heart.
Bai Xunyin was torn in her heart, but after a while, she said softly, “You’re right.”
They shouldn’t give up on themselves or their careers for the sake of their child.
But at the same time, they would never become workaholics like Gu Yan and Yu Yuan.
Once they understood this, what seemed like a difficult knot to untie suddenly became clear.
Fortunately, there was Yu Luoyin to provide enlightenment.
—
Bai Xunyin suddenly wanted to kiss him, so she walked over and kissed the corner of the man’s mouth.
But unexpectedly, after being too busy to have any contact for almost a week, their bodies ignited like dry tinder upon contact.
The woman’s slender and soft waist was controlled by Yu Luoyin, whose eyes suddenly darkened.
He pressed her against the table.
He savored her, as if savoring a delicious dish.
The atmosphere in the dining room seemed to become even more indescribably intriguing, and Yu Luoyin became extremely excited.
Bai Xunyin was afraid that Yu Baiqi would make trouble, so she tightened her body and didn’t cooperate so much. She kept humming, and her cold voice became even more pa.s.sionate.
The man bit her lower lip and wanted to love her hard.
Fortunately, tonight, Yu Baiqi behaved very well, so that his own father had a good time.
After was.h.i.+ng up and lying on the bed, Bai Xunyin is tired and lazy, lying on the bed a finger are lazy to move, only beautiful body curve slightly undulating.
When Yu Luoyin leaned over the bed to blow her hair gently and softly, Bai Xunyin remembered another thing.
“Right.”
The woman looked up slightly, her teal eyes still containing undiluted of desire, watery, “How’s that kindergarten teacher of our little one?”
“That teacher ah.”
Yu Luoyin black hair had small droplets of water which dripped on the white and delicate skin of Bai Xunyin. He obnoxiously and intentionally went over for a kiss, his voice murmuring, “A girl, quite young.”
But if he didn’t have to, he didn’t really want to go send Yu Baiqi to school.
A girl, young?
Bai Xunyin narrowed her eyes thoughtfully, remembering the words Yu Baiqi repeated at night, she said, “I’ll go send the little one to school tomorrow.”
“Uh-huh.”
Yu Luoyin casually responded, actually feeling that this question was irrelevant at all.
He thought about other things.
The man’s long, slender fingers teasingly pinched Bai Xunyin’s chin, and suddenly said meaningfully, “I suddenly have a way to avoid our little one being alone.”
Bai Xunyin froze, “What?”
Yu Luoyin smiled, his clear and elegant eyebrows were cunning, he lowered his head and lightly sucked on a small black mole at the faint corner of the woman’s eye, his voice hoa.r.s.e.
“Doesn’t he want to have a sister?”
