Chapter 10 - Mo Family Brothers
The birthday party of the Mo family was quite grand this time. Many well-known CEOs of the business world who often appear in financial news, and their sons and daughters, attended.
Gradually, many omegas noticed the outstanding appearance of Luo Fei, and someone asked in a low voice, “Whose that person with Emil? Why haven’t we seen him before?”
A girl chuckled lightly and said, “I heard him introduce himself to Mr. Mo as Emil’s personal a.s.sistant. It’s a pity, he looks so handsome.”
Another girl spoke up: “Even if he is just an a.s.sistant, just looking at his face is quite pleasing to the eye, isn’t it?”
“Are you interested in him?”
“I’m just talking casually. He’s handsome, but I can’t eat it. Besides, I think Mo Han is more handsome than him.”
As those people were discussing, Mo Han suddenly appeared at the door of the hall.
His appearance immediately caused a small commotion in the area, and many omegas looked in his direction.
With a smile on his face, Mo Han went straight to Luo Fei and asked, “Senior, are you full? Do you want to eat some more pastries?”
Luo Fei nodded: “No, I’m already full.”
Mo Han said: “There is also a dance party arranged in the side hall next door. If you’re interested, you can invite your favorite omega to have a dance.”
Luo Fei smiled and said, “It’s better not to, I’m just an a.s.sistant.”
Mo Han didn’t expose him, but changed the subject and asked, “Where’s Emil?”
Luo Fei said: “Just now a girl he knew invited him to dance. That girl seems to be interested in him, so it’s a little inconvenient for me to follow.”
Mo Han nodded and said, “Then let’s go over there and talk.”
He poured a gla.s.s of red wine and handed it to Luo Fei, and then led Luo Fei to a quiet corner of the banquet hall.
In front of the two of them was a huge floor-to-ceiling window, allowing them to clearly see the flowers and trees outside.
Holding a gla.s.s of red wine in his hand, Mo Han’s fingers looked fairer and slender against the crimson backdrop.
Luo Fei turned his head to look at him – his height just reached the tip of his nose.
Since Luo Fei’s height is more than 1.87 meters, Mo Han should be 1.8 meters by visual inspection. This height can be regarded as relatively tall and straight among alphas, but because of his thin body shape, he doesn’t feel so strong. Especially when standing beside him, Luo Fei found that he, who was used to keeping a distance from people, did not reject his approach.
Back then, when they met for the first time on the s.p.a.ces.h.i.+p, the mysterious masked youth had no obvious pheromone smell on his body. Luo Fei was not sure whether he was an alpha or beta at that time. But at today’s banquet, the alpha pheromone on his body was more obvious.
Of course, alpha’s pheromones are not as difficult to control as omega pheromones. As long as one has the heart to restrain themselves, they can diminish the oppressive feeling from being an alpha.
Mo Han restrained himself very well – the faint alpha pheromone on his body is not annoying at all. No wonder so many omegas like him. A personable alpha like him will naturally attract the favor of omegas more than those domineering and fierce alphas.
Sensing Luo Fei’s gaze, Mo Han couldn’t help turning his head and meeting his eyes: “What are you looking at me for?”
Luo Fei smiled: “It’s nothing, I just think you feel a little different.”
Mo Han asked with interest: “Really? You should have seen quite a few alphas. What do you think is different about me?”
Luo Fei commented: “You’re talented and beautiful, and come from such a rich family. Yet you’re clean and don’t have any scandals with any omegas. Simply a perfect alpha.”
Mo Han said calmly: “That’s because I have yet to meet an omega that makes my heart flutter. Most omegas approach me because they want my money. Such a purposeful approach only makes me feel disgusted… …Do you understand?”
Luo Fei nodded: “I understand. Many rich second-generation alphas I’ve met before have countless lovers, and change lovers as frequently as changing clothes. SoI think you’re very unique. In fact, I really appreciate your approach – before meeting someone you like, you don’t mess around with others. This is also a kind of respect for yourself.”
Mo Han smiled slightly, pretending to ask casually: “What about you? What kind of omega do you like?”
Luo Fei rubbed his chin and thought about it carefully, and then said: “The omega I like should be independent and a.s.sertive. They can’t just sit around all day, seeking an alpha’s protection just because they’re an omega, and cry all the time.”
“Oh? You hate crying omegas?” Mo Han said in surprise. “Don’t they say the weaker the omega, the easier it is to arouse an alpha’s desire to protect?”
“I don’t think so.” Luo Fei answered frankly. “People should learn to protect themselves. Even an omega should have the ability to survive independently.”
“…” Mo Han raised his red wine gla.s.s and took a sip, but didn’t speak.
“The times have already changed.” Luo Fei looked back at him, and continued, “If it was more than ten years ago, omegas would be protected by the a.s.sociation like rare animals, and when they became adults, marry an excellent alpha and give birth. They don’t need to learn survival skills at all, because their alphas will always support them. However, since Congress reformed the marriage laws, many omegas have shown excellent abilities in all walks of life. Their abilities are no worse than alphas. If omegas still cling onto such an outdated concept of “I am an omega, others must support me”, then the reforms back then will be meaningless.”
“…” His thoughts are surprisingly consistent with his own.
As expected of the First Prince, his views were influenced by His Majesty Xize, and he is very democratic and open.
For the first time, Mo Han took a serious look at the alpha next to him.
Luo Fei’s facial features are indeed very handsome, somewhat similar to His Majesty Xize’s, but with the youthful vigor of a teenager. After all, he isn’t yet twenty years old. He also doesn’t have the arrogance and pride of those second generations from military or political families. He has a sunny personality, is cheerful and talkative, and doesn’t use his status to suppress others.
This First Prince’s conduct is not bad.
However, Mo Han didn’t want to be his princess.
To be precise, Mo Han doesn’t want to be with any alpha – he wants to lead others, and doesn’t like being oppressed.
Noticing Mo Han’s mind wandering, Luo Fei could not help but lean over and ask, “What are you thinking about?”
Mo Han calmly looked away: “It’s nothing, what you said right now reminds me of the president of the Omega a.s.sociation giving a speech.”
Luo Fei: “…”
The president is his father…
Luo Fei hastily coughed lightly, and said: “I was just talking casually, and made you laugh.”
Mo Han smiled and said, “No, I think what you said makes sense.”
When he said this, he picked up his red wine gla.s.s again.
The housekeeper, who was secretly observing the two from a distance, hurried over immediately, and whispered a few words into Mo Han’s ear.
The smile on Mo Han’s face quickly vanished, and his face became extremely ugly. He nodded to Luo Fei and said, “Sorry, I have something to deal with.”
“What happened?” Luo Fei was puzzled. ”Do you want help?”
Mo Han said: “My younger brother needs something, so I have to excuse myself first. You should go to the dance hall next door and play for a while.”
Younger brother? Is it his fraternal twin omega brother, Mo Lin?
Mo Han turned around and quickly left the hall, looking very anxious. Puzzled, Luo Fei couldn’t help following secretly.
***
Outside the hall, the housekeeper disappeared at the end of the corridor, as if he was going to do something very important, while Mo Han walked towards the depths of the garden alone.
Luo Fei stepped lightly, relying on the cover of trees to follow behind at a distance.
This is exactly the garden that Emil and him pa.s.sed by before. After a while, a three-storey villa appeared in front of him.
Mo Han opened the door and walked into the villa.
As soon as he entered the door, Luo Fei heard the screeching sound of dishes being smashed, followed by a young boy’s weak voice: “These things are unpalatable, I don’t want to eat…”
Then came Mo Han’s voice: “You dropped the lunch I asked the kitchen to bring to you?”
The boy was obviously crying: “That’s right… all of you went to grandpa’s birthday banquet, but you didn’t let me go. You don’t regard me as a member of the Mo family at all… woo woo woo… Just because I’m a cripple, can only show up in a wheelchair, and will embarra.s.s you, right?”
Hearing this, Mo Han’s voice could not help revealing a trace of anger: “Mo Lin, what are you talking about? It’s for your own good that we didn’t let you partic.i.p.ate in the birthday banquet! Your body is so weak, and father is afraid you will be stimulated and lose control of your emotions, so we let you rest here with peace of mind. Can you stop thinking about it?”
The young man choked up and said, “I know you hate me and don’t want to see me. People outside say I’m mentally ill… Let me go, okay? I won’t be an eyesore to you if I don’t stay here.”
There was a bang, followed by what seemed to be the screech of a wheelchair running over shards of dishes. Immediately afterwards, the door of the villa was pushed open.
A teenager appeared in front of Luo Fei in a wheelchair.
He wore white pajamas, with messy hair hanging down to cover his forehead. His face was as pale as paper, his eyes were red from crying, and his face was covered with tears.
Luo Fei: “………”
Is he Mo Lin? The mentally ill patient Emil mentioned earlier?
Guess who that is!
(I’m imagining Mo Han talking to himself; that’s dedication!)
