Chapter 1246: Chapter 1246: The Good Samaritan
“He’s even more capable than a secretary, taking on even more responsibilities. All the secretaries have to listen to him.” Ever since he started working with the Deputy Director, Ji Fang had broadened his horizons significantly.
For instance, meeting a top architectural master who graduated from the architecture department at MIT.
The look in everyone’s eyes was complex as they watched Zou Yi approach. They quickly stopped talking and greeted Zou Yi with awkward smiles.
“a.s.sistant Zou.” Ji Fang hurried forward, ingratiatingly saying, “The Deputy Director asked me to hand over all matters to you. I’ve got all the materials prepared. Do you have time right now?”
“Are you in a hurry?” Zou Yi, with his thick brows and big eyes, had a face that was honest and straightforward, with a bright and upright demeanor, as opposed to Zhou Hengguang’s n.o.ble and handsome features and his deep-set eyes that bore a hint of mischief.
He looked like a nice guy, someone people could trust.
His wheat-colored skin and well-built muscles suggested he often conducted field inspections and spent many years outdoors. Knowing that he was an architectural master, those unaware would think him a construction worker toting bricks on site!
Zhou Hengguang paled in comparison, looking more like a scholarly, handsome, yet frail young n.o.bleman.
He seemed less and less like an architectural master, an expert in bridges.
“The Deputy Director is in a hurry to go out of town, and I need to drive for him.”
Ji Fang couldn’t help but reveal a smile to Zou Yi, thinking it was no wonder the Deputy Director was highly averse to a.s.sistant Zou.
Zou Yi frowned, “You’re going to drive for Big Brother?” He was unhappy.
He should have been the one driving for Big Brother.
If he had known, he would have resisted Big Brother’s threats and not gone abroad to study. He had been deceived by Big Brother; otherwise, the chance to drive for Big Brother wouldn’t have been s.n.a.t.c.hed away by such a weakling.
“Yes! The Deputy Director is in a hurry. After I hand over the materials to you, I need to go to his house to pick him up. The rest will be troublesome for you, a.s.sistant Zou, and thank you for your cooperation.”
Zou Yi couldn’t refuse Big Brother’s arrangement and followed Ji Fang to Zhou Hengguang’s office to take over the work. These tasks were all familiar to him; after all, as a professional a.s.sistant who had been helping Big Brother with homework since they were young and later dealt with work matters for him, it was a seamless transition.
Although he had been abroad for several years, the knowledge he gained was also for the sake of better a.s.sisting Big Brother.
Zou Yi’s professional capabilities left Ji Fang speechless once again; complex and tricky problems handed over to Zou Yi didn’t even need an introduction, as he could understand them at a glance.
“Now the Deputy Director can do as he pleases,” Ji Fang muttered to himself.
Zou Yi glanced at him unhappily, “Big Brother should be able to do as he pleases by right, it’s because you are too incompetent and have been holding Big Brother back.” The more he looked, the angrier he became; even a good-natured guy like him couldn’t help but get mad.
He gave Ji Fang a severe reprimand.
“These, these and these… Such simple matters, and you actually made Big Brother handle them personally? What kind of secretary are you?”
“I…” Ji Fang felt like crying.
Simple, is it?
These were clearly very difficult, with complex calculation methods that he simply didn’t understand.
If he knew all that, he wouldn’t need to be a secretary for someone.
Ji Fang felt wronged.
“I have to go now, if I’m any later the Deputy Director will get angry.” Seeing that he had dragged on too long, Ji Fang had no choice but to leave Zou Yi in a hurry. When he reached Zhou Hengguang’s house, there was already a brand-new, golden-brown Land Rover parked out front.
The sleek design and the large, domineering frame occupied the s.p.a.cious doorway, making Ji Fang’s sedan look like a child’s toy in comparison.
And there was Zhou Hengguang, leaning lazily against the car door, greeting Ji Fang with a cold smirk.
