Chapter 1094: Shameless
Editor: Nyoi-Bo Studio
Zhou Hengguang smiled but said nothing.
The old expert continued to lecture him. “You never lacked money growing up, so why did you work in a factory? Isn’t that a waste of your talent? Regardless of your reasons, it would help if you focused on serious matters starting today. Even if you want to date, put it aside for now. Tomorrow, we’re organizing a team of experts for a field trip to observe the local climate, and you must attend.”
A dark light flashed in the depths of Zhou Hengguang’s eyes behind his gla.s.ses. After a moment, he responded, “Don’t worry, I haven’t delayed anything. It’s our Dean who’s making a fuss.”
“Your Dean is concerned about you. If you delay official business, we’ll all be concerned. If not, you’ll end up exhausting yourself. Take care of your body while you’re young.”
“I know. Please hurry, everyone is in the car waiting for you,” Zhou Hengguang said, trying to end the conversation.
“Hmph! You find it annoying when I talk too much,” the old expert grumbled. Then, turning to Ji Fang, he glared and scolded, “You’re too useless. Take good care of your Deputy Director, or I’ll hold you accountable.”
With that, he swung his arm and left in high spirits.
Ji Fang wanted to cry. He knew that no matter what the Deputy Director did, he would be the one to suffer.
“He left. Why are you still standing there?” Zhou Hengguang kicked Ji Fang, bringing him back to his senses. “I asked you to deliver a message, why are you back so late?”
“The big boss invited me to dinner. I didn’t dare refuse,” Ji Fang explained, thinking of the delicious meal. Life was hard enough, and he couldn’t pa.s.s up good food.
Zhou Hengguang snorted, feeling jealous. “I can’t even go eat, but you’re lucky.”
Ji Fang was speechless. “Vice Director, I’m here because of you.”
“Indeed,” Zhou Hengguang replied coldly, his beautiful face stern. “Why did you come back empty-handed? I don’t have time to eat, so why didn’t you pack some food for me?”
Ji Fang’s mouth formed an ‘O’. “I… I forgot.”
Help! The Deputy Director was too shameless. Making such a request boldly was brave, but he had to tell the truth.
“Don’t forget next time,” Zhou Hengguang said.
“Got it! I’ll remember. What do you like to eat, Second Boss?” Ji Fang asked immediately. Tonight’s dishes were sumptuous, cooked to perfection, especially the dumplings and the braised chicken.”
Zhou Hengguang’s face darkened. He hadn’t had time to eat dinner yet. This br*t must be doing it on purpose.
“Alright! You’ve got guts,” Zhou Hengguang said.
“I don’t dare. I’m just trying to figure out your taste,” Ji Fang said, laughing nervously. It felt good to tease a bit.
Zhou Hengguang’s thin lips curled into a cold smile. “Since you’re so attentive, make another trip and ask my sister-in-law to make a new meal for me to pack. I haven’t had dinner yet.”
Ji Fang was dumbfounded. “Deputy Director, you… Are you serious? I’ve already left. Isn’t that a bit too shameless if I go back again?” Ji Fang, a thin-skinned young man, was uncomfortable with the idea.
