Old Serge looked thoughtful as they discussed the food issue. With Leng Jun, their strongest elementalist, no longer with them, the risk of going hunting outside has increased threefold. This time, the hunting crew was led by Jeremy, Leng Jun's second-in-command.

"Jeremy, you will be the captain for this hunting team. Do you agree?" Old Serge asked.

Jeremy responded, "I agree, but... don't call me captain. Only Leng Jun is worthy of such a t.i.tle. I will try my best to bring as many people back alive. I can only promise this much. I am not as strong as Captain Leng after all."

Jeremy left the surveillance room, heading to North Door Z820. As soon as he saw a younger version of Captain Leng, he knew that it was definitely him. He had heard everything from the old man, especially the details about Leng Jun himself.

Leng Jun made the decision to depart first and make some arrangements on his end because he was undecided about seeing the base personnel. Just picturing how those same folks who used to smile at him would now stare at him icily has him in a frenzy. He decided not to meet them this time, as though he could not take it anymore.

"Chuchu, I think. I am still not ready. Let's leave first," Leng Jun said.

Chuchu, who already felt the presence of other summoned elementals coming over, told Leng Jun, {I think it's a bit too late to leave now.}

"What do you mean?" asked Leng Jun.

But before he could respond, a nearby metal door abruptly opened, and before he knew what was going on, someone leaped onto him and gave him a strong hug. It was Jeremy, who ran outside in spite of the below-freezing weather despite having forgotten to wear heavy clothing.

Jeremy said, "Jun-ge! You are finally back! Don't run around this time! We don't care if you are no longer human. Our elemental told us about your situation. We understood everything about it."

"Okay. Calm down. Let go of me," said Leng Jun.

A little while later, Old Serge and the others also stopped by, just after Jeremy arrived. They are obviously overjoyed by Leng Jun's surprise reappearance and content that he is back. Well, the residents of Deep Haven still recognize Leng Jun despite the fact that he no longer has the appearance of a middle-aged uncle, with his hair turning reddish and his eyes no longer looking like human eyes.

"Welcome home, son," Old Serge said.

After Jeremy, Old Serge gave Leng Jun a hug as well. As opposed to their previous encounter, in which he burned his palm simply by grabbing his son. He might give him the same hug as previously. Leng Jun felt the remorse that was hidden in his heart when he saw his father's burn scar on his hand after he had allowed his father to hug him.

Leng Jun said, "I'm home. Both Chuchu and I..."

"Yes, you guys are back. Let's go inside. You can tell us what happens when we are all inside," Old Serge said.

Now that he was back, Leng Jun experienced what it was like to be at home. He was content with Chuchu, but he felt obligated to take care of the base and his foster father. The human race may have diminished significantly, but as long as there is hope, there will be a future for them. Leng Jun shared his surface adventure with all of them.

What had happened in the south, with the other survivors under the Ice Elemental Penguin King's protection, how he had encountered the four Ice Elemental Kings on the surface, and how he had vanquished the Octopus King.

They waited a while to listen to Leng Jun's account of his adventures outside the base because there was a lot to discuss. It might be concluded from his stories that they at last understood the superficial reality of the situation. They had no idea that a ruler of the ice element would support humanity. Moreover, learning the genesis of the apocalypse was unexpected news.

The opening of the base treated Leng Jun the same as before and even teased him with his changes. Like how he suddenly looks a few years younger or his unique hair color and eyes. Everyone wasn't afraid of him and was even welcoming. As for the ones he hunted, the men in the base had long carried them over. That day, a huge feast was prepared to welcome Leng Jun and Chuchu back to Deep Haven.

Without those in the underground knowing, their planet itself was in chaos. The trespa.s.sing entrance of the Beast Race into the world had caused almost everyone on the surface to be shocked. The elementals were the first to notice the invasion from the other race. Fleets from outer s.p.a.ce descended from the sky to the land. The moment these s.p.a.ces.h.i.+ps land, Beastmen warriors pour out of them.

Each eye of these beasts was glowing with excitement and madness. They look around, trying to find the source of strong energy surges within the area, and raid it as before.

A lot of worlds on their way to this planet had suffered from this race. The only thing that gives the other race relief is that they only attack warriors. They don't care about weaklings, and they would even choose to ignore them. The warriors who lost to them would die miserably.

The first ones to notice the invasion of the Beastmen are the Elemental Kings. As for the Elemental Emperor at the center of the Federation Star, it kept sleeping after eating something that made it evolve to its current state.

At the Ice Forest, the sleeping Ice Elemental Wolf King, who was taking an afternoon nap just now, abruptly stood at its feet while looking at the sky. He suddenly gave out a loud howl that echoed throughout the whole North Region. It's a call to summon all of his underlings and make them prepare for a fight.

The Zookeeper Uncle said, "I will send a message to all possible living bases in the world. That's all we can do right now. Little King, we must save ourselves first."
