Only when s.h.i.+ Qing got the answer he wanted did he get up, satisfied.

The two of them leaned back on the sofa for hours and watched a food doc.u.mentary together.

Qin Yunsheng wasn’t really interested in it. He was concentrating on s.h.i.+ Qing.

s.h.i.+ Qing wasn’t too interested in the show either. He was concentrating on flirting with Qin Yunsheng.

So the two of them were very intimate as the doc.u.mentary played in the background.

The officer’s ears remained red until s.h.i.+ Qing sat up. Pursing his lips, he lowered his head to tidy up his wrinkled clothes.

The little Marquis raised his eyebrows, seemingly reverting back to his previous behaviour after getting what he wanted from the soldier. His tone held a trace of teasing.

“Did you change your clothes today? But you’ve only been wearing the clothes you changed out of for a day, right?”

Qin Yunsheng’s face was still flushed as he struggled to sit up. Looking at the smiling little Marquis, he swallowed dryly and tried to calm down.

His voice was still hoa.r.s.e and quiet when he finally spoke, like he had just gone through a strenuous set of exercises.

“The s.h.i.+rt from yesterday was a little wrinkled so I changed.”

“Sure, whatever you say.”

s.h.i.+ Qing sat slumped across the sofa. The corners of his lips were slightly curved up. From this angle, he seemed much shorter than Qin Yunsheng.

The young Marquis stretched out his fingers. His hands were white and slender, soft and smooth; a stark contrast to Qin Yunsheng’s hands, which were calloused from training and exposure to the sun and wind.

s.h.i.+ Qing knew this, of course. It was the reason he tried to hold hands with Qin Yunsheng so much, as he could see the man’s desire to touch s.h.i.+ Qing war against his fear of hurting him.

This time however, s.h.i.+ Qing’s hand didn’t squeeze into the man’s grasp.

He just seemed to be very interested in how Qin Yunsheng’s new clothes looked exactly like what he wore yesterday. His thin white finger touched the wrinkles in the fabric, the b.u.t.tons, and the little stars that all Chinese military folks had on their clothes.

But it didn’t look quite like a military uniform.

The officer stayed completely still as s.h.i.+ Qing inspected his outfit.

The little Marquis was not happy that Qin Yunsheng didn’t ask him why he was so interested in his new clothes.

Dissatisfied, his hands withdrew.

“Why are you acting like a wooden log? Why haven’t you asked me about what I’m doing yet?!”

The officer blinked a little nervously. He asked obediently in a low, deep voice, “What are you doing?”

The little Marquis was delighted by his cooperation.

“I’m looking at your uniform, of course! It looks so good on you. I have Marquis ceremonial outfits too, you’ll look good in those as well.”

He was complimented. The corners of Qin Yunsheng’s mouth couldn’t help but curl up.

He explained, “This isn’t a military uniform, it’s my casual wear. I commissioned it from a tailor.”

“Which tailor did you hire? The craftsmans.h.i.+p is so good… Introduce them to me next time.”

Without waiting for the officer to agree, s.h.i.+ Qing smirked and raised his eyebrows slightly, looking up at his boyfriend.

“Did you change your clothes to make yourself more presentable for me?”

s.h.i.+ Qing: “I thought you were a wooden log that didn’t know what a relations.h.i.+p entailed. Seems you’re not completely hopeless after all.”

Qin Yunsheng: “?”

At first, He didn’t understand what changing his clothes had to do with their relations.h.i.+p or with making himself presentable to s.h.i.+ Qing.

Although it was true that he changed his clothes because he had a little boyfriend now and wanted to make sure he was always clean and tidy in front of him&#k2026;

But when the officer met the young Marquis’ teasing gaze, he suddenly figured it out.

His face blushed red.

The officer stammered, “What do you mean?”

s.h.i.+ Qing didn’t even blink. “The thing that every couple does eventually.”

He added: “It’s a necessary part of every relations.h.i.+p. I won’t blame a novice like you for not knowing.”

Qin Yunsheng: …No, he understands.

He felt his face burn just imagining the scene.

They had to do it eventually since they were a couple now, but Qin Yunsheng honestly had never bothered to learn about that. His first reaction was anxiety.

What if he messed up?

He unconsciously began to stall for time.

The officer fidgeted, “Aren’t we moving a bit…too fast?”

“Are we?”

The little Marquis appeared neither red or fl.u.s.tered, like he had been through this countless times before. “How is this fast? It doesn’t feel like that to me.”

It dawned on Qin Yunsheng.

s.h.i.+ Qing had most likely become enamoured with him long ago.

Of the two of them, he was the only one who felt that they had only been in love for a day.

It was natural for s.h.i.+ Qing to not feel that they were moving too fast.

Thinking about it this way, the joy and guilt from before came flooding back. The officer lowered his head as if he had done something wrong.

“If you want to…then it’s okay with me.”

Such words were still a little too embarra.s.sing for him. The tips of his ears deepened several shades after he spoke.

s.h.i.+ Qing: “If you’re not fully committed, there’s no point in continuing our relations.h.i.+p.”

Qin Yunsheng looked up in a panic, stammering, “I am! Committed, that is.”

He grit his teeth, “I’ll do it whenever you want!”

The young Marquis nodded in satisfaction and stood up. “Then let’s do it now.”

“Now?”

Qin Yunsheng’s face went blank. The way he looked around the lounge and blushed could almost be called pitiful.

The officer was about to combust with shame.

“This is the lounge! Are- are you sure?!”

s.h.i.+ Qing was already unb.u.t.toning his coat. Those ruby red lips muttered quietly, “What’s wrong with the lounge? I think it’s fine.”

“B-but there’s people outside and no lock on the door! Someone could come in at any moment!!”

s.h.i.+ Qing: “So what if they do? Why are you dilly-dallying, hurry up!”

Qin Yunsheng: “……”

Doing that in a place like this really went against his sense of honour and integrity.

Especially in a lounge where anyone could come in at any moment!

Absolutely not!!

Even if s.h.i.+ Qing insisted, he just couldn’t!!!

The little Marquis threw his coat on the sofa. His pretty face looked at Qin Yunsheng with discontent.

“What are you staring at?! Why can’t you even do such a small thing for me?! Are you really committed to being my boyfriend?! How can we be a couple if we don’t do this?!!”

Qin Yunsheng: “……”

But couples usually didn’t do that in a lounge that can’t even be locked, right..?

The officer grit his teeth and steeled his nerves. He got up and strode to the door…

–And barricaded it with a nearby table!

He was a little nervous. His face red and stiff, he unb.u.t.toned his s.h.i.+rt with trembling hands and his back facing s.h.i.+ Qing, who was leaning on the sofa.

His slim and form fitting jacket was taken off.

Qin Yunsheng carefully placed it on the sofa and started loosening his tie.

Then he heard the little Marquis asking him softly from behind, “What are you doing?”

The officer paused and stood up straight. His back was still to him.

“I…I’m getting undressed.”

s.h.i.+ Qing’s voice seemed confused. “What are you undressing for? The jacket alone is fine.”

Qin Yunsheng: “!!!”

Did he not have to take his s.h.i.+rt off?!

Was that really okay??

The haughty urging of the little Marquis could be heard again.

“Why are you always s.p.a.cing out?! Hurry up!”

The officer closed his eyes in shame.

He grit his teeth and placed a hand on his belt.

A hand tapped him on the shoulder, causing Qin Yunsheng to jolt.

s.h.i.+ Qing was obviously quite happy, which made his voice become soft and glutinous like mochi.

“Qin Yunsheng, turn and look at me.”

Qin Yunsheng turned with a nervous antic.i.p.ation.

In front of him was the young Marquis who had put on the officer’s jacket. The jacket that was a little wide to him had been secured around the waist, highlighting how slim s.h.i.+ Qing was there.

His hands were working hard to fasten the belt, making the jacket that wasn’t so well-fitting, fit.

s.h.i.+ Qing smiled when he finished and walked around a few paces. He looked gleefully at his boyfriend.

“Don’t I look good in your clothes?”

He ran back over to the couch and picked up his lab coat, which he tossed on unb.u.t.toned.

“This way you can’t see that it’s a little big.”

Qin Yunsheng: “……”

The little Marquis examined himself in the lounge mirror before turning around and petulantly urging the officer. “Why are you so slow today? Hurry up and put on my coat.”

Qin Yunsheng: “……”

The officer was thoroughly confused.

“Your coat?”

“Yeah.”

s.h.i.+ Qing smiled at him with his hands on his hips. “Wearing each other’s clothes is a milestone of any relations.h.i.+p, wouldn’t you agree? If a man and woman fell in love, it would be the woman wearing the man’s s.h.i.+rt or something. But since we’re both men we can just wear each other’s clothes.”

After saying that, the little Marquis patted his flat stomach. “Your clothes are a bit too big on me, so mine might be a bit too tight on you. But that’s okay! I always wear loose clothes so you should be able to fit.”

Qin Yunsheng: “……”

The officer felt like he could no longer keep up with his partner.

With a numb and tingling face, he asked his little boyfriend, “But why are we doing this?”

The little Marquis actually put his hand up and counted off the reasons one by one on his fingers.

“One, your clothes look good, so I’ll feel good wearing them. Two, couples exchanging clothes can make them closer. Three, if we dress like this, everyone will know that we’re a couple. Then you won’t have to worry about that witch s.h.i.+ Yiyi sticking to you.”

He was willing to wager that the last one was the main reason.

He looked helplessly at the little Marquis.

The little Marquis righteously raised his little chin as he gave out his order.

“I’ve explained it to you, so put it on already!”

The officer silently obeyed.

His body was much more defined than s.h.i.+ Qing’s, so this ‘loose’ jacket was still a little tight on him.

But thank goodness it wasn’t too tight. It was just enough to outline his good figure.

Having changed his jacket, Qin Yunsheng was about to move the table away from the door when the sound of someone pus.h.i.+ng the door from outside could be heard.

“Eh?”

Then came Tan Mingyi’s puzzled voice.

He knocked on the door and raised his voice to ask, “Who’s in there? Why is the door locked?”
