Chapter 990: Get a Famous Doctor
Zheng Ren thought about what Zou Jiahua had just said; he had said that he had experienced yet another sudden cardiac arrest last night.
Normally, the frequency of heart ion channel attacks would not be so fast. It was very rare for the ion pump to stop working and the heart to go on strike for two days in a row.
However, the diagnosis given by the System panel was still heart ion channel disease. There was no change.
Zheng Ren did not know what was the cause of the disease caused by the genetic changes. The research direction was more like a castle in the air. It was illusory and untouchable.
Zheng Ren even suspected that the current medical treatment and research on heart ion channel disease were all wrong. They were wrong from the very beginning.
There were precedents for this kind of thing.
For example, in 1996, a report pointed out that the SLC6A4 gene played an extremely important role in the generation of depression.
This discovery was an extremely important breakthrough in the diagnosis and treatment of depression.
However, 23 years later, one day, when they woke up, the people who were doing this research all over the world saw a piece of news: the SLC6A4 gene had nothing to do with depression at all.
All the money, effort, and manpower that had been invested over the past 23 years had come to naught. A British researcher had torn up the data, taken photos, and posted them on social media.
His life had basically been wasted. In the face of an unknown fate, all the researchers were powerless to fight back.
That photo was heartbreaking.
But scientific research was mostly trial and error. Now, looking at ion channel disease, one could use genetic testing to confirm it, but who knew whether it was true or not?
For diseases at the genetic level, the whole world was in a trial and error state.
Now, Zheng Ren was still inclined to believe in the scan provided by the System.
After all, from the moment he came into contact with it until now, the System’s interface had never made a mistake and given him an unreliable diagnosis.
He could give it a try. Zheng Ren made up his mind in the end.
Zou Jiahua seemed to have something on his mind as well. He just walked down the stairs with Zheng Ren without saying a word.
He was in his forties, in the prime of his life. Whether it was his body, experience, connections, or money, he was at the absolute prime of his life.
For a businessman, if he really died unknowingly at this moment, he would die with a grievance.
But it truly was the same for everyone.
The haze of death hung over Zou Jiahua’s head. He even had to be on tenterhooks during his afternoon nap, trying his best to avoid it.
Being alive was more like a form of torture to him.
There were a lot of patients and their families in the 912 hospital. Zou Jiahua simply did not ask his subordinates to call for an elevator. Instead, he walked downstairs with Zheng Ren.
All of this was unfamiliar to him, but in order to show his sincerity, he still came to find Zheng Ren personally.
When it came tos eeking medical treatment and asking for medicine, one’s sincerity would work and be more than enough. What Su Yun said the other day was shocking.
Zou Jiahua no longer thought about the feasibility. Mayo Medical Center gave a suggestion, and Doctor Zheng also said that he could give it a try.
Although it was just a try, but only one person said that he could give it a try. The others did not even have the thought of giving it a try.
Was this a desperate attempt to seek medical treatment? Zou Jiahua thought about it and smiled sheepishly.
From the corner of his eye, he looked at Zheng Ren. It was strange to say that this young doctor looked honest and simple. He was the kind of doctor who could not be found even if he was thrown into a crowd.
However, Zou Jiahua always felt that he was very stable. He was like a mountain that could be trusted and even… could be relied on.
When they arrived at the entrance of the Inpatient Department, a Lincoln limousine appeared in front of them.
The driver opened the door, and Zou Jiahua made a gesture of inviting Zheng Ren and Su Yun to sit in it.
It was indeed a good feeling to be able to move in a confined s.p.a.ce.
“Dr. Zheng, what would you like to drink?” Zou Jiahua asked.
“No.”
“I’m a little fl.u.s.tered today. Please don’t blame me for being rude. You’re still working, so you don’t need to drink. Have a gla.s.s of water.” Although Zou Jiahua was going to die at any time, he still tried his best to maintain his demeanor. His every move carried a gentle yet dignified aura.
He spoke politely, but his words still carried a domineering aura.
Zheng Ren took the gla.s.s of water and only smiled. He placed the gla.s.s of water on the small table beside him.
The interior s.p.a.ce of such a luxury car was still very big. The car was very stable when driving. It would not spill the water with a sudden brake, right? Zheng Ren’s mind was filled with thoughts that had nothing to do with the heart ion channel disease.
“Doctor Zheng, are you confident about the diagnostic treatment?”
“Regarding this disease, coupled with your condition, no one would be confident in treating it,” Zheng Ren said lightly. “Mr. Zou, please be clear. I am only talking about the diagnostic treatment, not the treatment. I believe that you have consulted the relevant professionals and understand the meaning of the diagnostic treatment.”
Zou Jiahua nodded. Just as he was about to say something, Su Yun suddenly took out his phone and waved it at Zheng Ren.
“Boss, there’s a reply from the other side.” Su Yun said, “They’re asking how confident the diagnosis is.”
“Very,” Zheng Ren said.
“Then I’ll let you reply like this.” Su Yun took the phone and started typing with both hands.
“Dr. Zheng is very busy,” Zou Jiahua was a little unhappy and said.
“Yes, there is a consultation case at Mayo Medical Center. Let me take a look.” Zheng Ren said, “This is the only way to treat your disease. It is a disease that can not be explained by current science. However, based on the symptoms, the condition, and the family history, I think it is very likely to be a heart ion channel disease.”
Zou Jiahua was stunned.
Mayo asked Dr. Zheng for a consultation? The medical world was divided into many big and small circles, and there was no difference between them and society.
It seemed that Doctor Zheng’s ident.i.ty and status were quite high.
“Boss, they asked if you can perform the surgery,” Su Yun said.
“Yes, they can, but we don’t have time to go now. Let’s think about it again,” Zheng Ren said.
“Then let them bring the patient here. It should take about 14 days by boat.” Su Yun did not care. “If it’s a plane, it won’t cause high blood pressure because of the change in pressure by bringing a decompression chamber.”
Zou Jiahua smiled. It seemed that this Doctor Zheng was different from the doctors he knew.
“I’m sorry, Mr. Zou. I have a lot of things to do.” Zheng Ren said and smiled apologetically, and then he went on and said, “To put it simply, I think your condition is some kind of disease, and not some kind of bewitchment. Although I can’t explain it with modern medical science, diagnostic treatment should be able to.”
“That is to say, as long as I don’t have another disease after I’m done with it, it will be considered a diagnosis, right?”
“Yes.” Zheng Ren nodded. “Generally speaking, using a pacemaker for cardiac ion channel disease can solve the problem. Your condition belongs to the unsolved genotype and not other diseases, so the pacemaker can solve the problem.”
“What if it happens again?” Zou Jiahua pressed.
“Then I don’t have a good solution.” Zheng Ren said seriously, “If that’s really the case, I can only ask Mr. Zou to find another famous doctor.”
That att.i.tude… seemed a bit too improper. Zou Jiahua hesitated.
