Chapter 746: The Primordial Spirit of the Sacred Ancestor
Translator: Nyoi-Bo Studio Editor: Nyoi-Bo Studio
“Is he of the sacred ones as well?”
Xuanyangzi realized right away what was going in his mind.
It was very likely that Lu Xuan was of the sacred ones as well.
Everything would’ve finally made sense if that was the case.
When Liu Haotian referred to Lu Xuan as his uncle, he initially thought that Lu Xuan might have actually been a fake; the information about Liu Haotian’s mother’s side of the family was well-doc.u.mented as well.
There wasn’t someone named Lu Xuan among them, and his mother was not of the surname ‘Lu’.
Based on the current situation, however, that relations.h.i.+p between the uncle and the nephew might have not been from Liu Haotian’s mother’s side, but one level higher. That meant that it had something to do with Liu Haotian’s father or even Liu Haotian’s grandfather.
That was the only possibility that came to mind.
All his doubts about Lu Xuan had completely vanished. It didn’t matter what Lu Xuan’s surname was or if he had shown himself to them before. There was no mistaking Lu Xuan’s bloodline, which was unique to the sacred ones.
If that hadn’t been the case, he wouldn’t have been able to resonate with the Sacred Ancestral Stele.
For the past several thousand years, they have tried everything they could to activate the stele. Each time, the results indicated that none of the methods they tried could invoke the Sacred Ancestral Stele’s resonance. It was just like how the sacred ancestor who founded the sect had put it; only those of the sacred bloodline could invoke the Sacred Ancestral Stele’s resonance.
It became apparent that the blood in Lu Xuan’s veins was the same as that in Liu Haotian, and there was no doubt about it. There was no doubt that Lu Xuan and Liu Haotian shared the same blood in their veins.
The only reason why n.o.body knew of his origins was that Lu Xuan had never shown himself. There were no records of it found throughout the entire Holy Sun Continent.
Xuanyangzi also quickly realized that there was more than one branch to the Liu Clan’s sacred bloodline. There had been someone of sacred bloodline a long time ago, but n.o.body knew where they went later on.
If Lu Xuan was from that line, he could indeed be Liu Haotian’s uncle.
Various thoughts rushed into Xuanyangzi’s mind. He even dared to say that Lu Xuan had something to do with that daughter from the Liu Clan all those years ago.
If that was the case, then everything would’ve made sense.
Xuanyangzi felt that he had definitely discovered the truth.
That was precisely why the look in Xuanyangzi’s eyes seemed somewhat more amicable when he looked at Lu Xuan. It didn’t matter what Lu Xuan’s surname was; there was still no doubting that Lu Xuan was of the sacred bloodline.
Everyone under the sacred bloodline would’ve been under the sect’s protection.
Xuanyangzi also came to realize why Lu Xuan had been so antagonistic and hostile when he talked before. If he was in Lu Xuan’s shoes, he would have been just as irked after knowing that he had become someone else’s prey.
He would have definitely wanted to tear those people apart as well.
It would also have been completely normal to kill every last one of them.
Under such circ.u.mstances, he could understand Lu Xuan’s demeanor much better.
Deep down, Lu Xuan was completely oblivious to Xuanyangzi’s speculations. He didn’t care if anyone found out that he had born Taoism apt.i.tude; that was not something he deemed so shameful that he needed to hide it.
The Chaos Heaven Stabilizer Bell took to the sky, conjuring a ma.s.sive barrier to s.h.i.+eld both Lu Xuan and Liu Haotian.
Despite being inside the central gates of the Immemorial Path, Lu Xuan still kept his guard up.
He had no idea when Xuanyangzi left. At that moment, he was already completely steeped in that mystical light that surged into his body.
Within his mind, the light gradually took a humanoid form.
That figure, who wore imperial robes, stood with his hands behind his back. While his looks remained obscured, the strength that emanated from that figure was far beyond what anyone else had seen so far.
Lu Xuan attempted to ask, “Sacred ancestor?”
That figure turned around and said, “You are correct. I am your sacred ancestor. I just never expected to have a descendant like you. You’re indeed quite the specimen.”
That Huaxian dragon that Lu Xuan’s primordial spirit took form in coiled around that golden sacred ancestor, staring at him as it emanated a faint pressure.
That sacred ancestor wore a rather startled expression, making it apparent that he had never seen anyone capable of making their primordial spirit so vivid that it looked more like a true living dragon than a mere construct of one’s spirit.
Not even the sacred ancestor was capable of doing anything like that.
The sacred ancestor said, “There is no need for you to be worried. I’m but a construct of primordial spirit.”
Despite what he said, he saw how calm Lu Xuan looked. The young man never seemed to have worried in the first place.
The scene became rather awkward and frustrating, as it was completely not what the sacred ancestor had imagined. Lu Xuan looked as if he never cared that he showed up, and knew what he was all along.
“Greetings, sacred ancestor.”
Lu Xuan cupped his hands and bowed.
That was an act of a descendant bowing to his ancestor. His status was such that aside from his own parents, the sacred ancestor would’ve been the only one throughout the whole world who deserved such treatment.
The sacred ancestor immediately said in response, “At ease.”
When Lu Xuan bowed to him, he felt his eyebrows twitch and his back go cold. A rumbling thunder seemed to have gone off in his mind as well.
He felt like he had just done something unspeakably horrendous.
That was something that he never experienced before. Many of his descendants had bowed to him, yet none of them had ever made him feel this way.
He felt his skin crawl right away, especially when he was reduced to little more than a sliver of spirit. That made him more acutely attuned to death. He felt like he was taunting death itself at that very moment.
‘Dammit. I’m nothing but a sliver of spirit now. I could still run into something like that after I’m dead.’
He wondered just how formidable that descendant of his would have to have to make him, the ancestor, having his skin crawl just because said descendant just bowed to him. He felt like he was about to die a second time.
He knew that he absolutely couldn’t take another bow like that.
Lu Xuan noted that the sacred ancestor was no longer able to keep his cool and was getting fl.u.s.tered. Lu Xuan thought the entire scene was rather amusing. He had to restart from scratch in cultivation in his current life because he no longer retained his former rankings. Even so, he was still different from everyone else.
Common people would have probably died just because he bowed to them.
If he were to bow like that during his prime, he would have completely reduced the sacred ancestor to dust even if the latter was also at his prime.
That was not a joke; that was the truth.
It was due to the fact that the sacred ancestor had acquired an abundance of good karma from saving his world. As Lu Xuan’s ancestor, he was actually able to withstand such a bow from Lu Xuan.
The sacred ancestor commented, “I was initially just curious since there had been two of you here this time. I never expected that you would be someone of such caliber. It would seem that you had your own encounters then. I’ve looked into your cultivation system. It doesn’t seem like something found on the Holy Sun Continent. It seems that you’ve been to other worlds then.”
Lu Xuan nodded and continued, “You’re correct. I’m actually from a completely different world.”
The sacred ancestor then added, “You may not know this, but your line started with me. However, I am not a native of the Holy Sun Continent myself.” Lu Xuan’s brow twitched as the sacred ancestor continued, “I was from some other world too that had accidentally fallen to the Holy Sun Continent through a s.p.a.ce-time fissure…”
