Chapter 547: Killing Dan Chenzi with a Punch
That extremely frightening slash allowed Dan Chenzi to see the goal he should’ve been heading towards.
All he had to do was look at Lu Xuan.
The way Lu Xuan moved wasn’t as flashy and bold as that of most supreme swordsmen.
It was different from the typical supreme swordsmen that he knew of, who were devoted to their blades and themselves.
Lu Xuan’s behavior made him seem more like a traveler out to see the world.
Even so, he knew that it was not because Lu Xuan didn’t have much practice in swordsmans.h.i.+p. On the contrary, that proved that Lu Xuan was unbelievably skilled with the sword.
It was as if he himself was an extremely terrifying sword that was sheathed.
That was the sign of one returning to one’s most fundamental nature. Not only did Dan Chenzi not look down on Lu Xuan, but he also thought more highly of Lu Xuan because of it.
The way Lu Xuan looked at that moment was utterly terrifying.
What stunned him even further was Lu Xuan’s actual age.
There was a ma.s.sive difference in the levels of swordsmans.h.i.+p between the two of them.
He even doubted that he could ever even reach Lu Xuan’s current level of skill.
Judging from Lu Xuan’s age, one could’ve said that his talents in the way of the sword were nothing short of being extraordinary. One could’ve even considered him a swordsman with an unparalleled level of skill.
It was as if the way of the sword would’ve never been able to s.h.i.+ne if Lu Xuan hadn’t been born.
From Lu Xuan’s perspective, however, what he demonstrated was just one of the many that were deemed hardly worth mentioning. Due to the heights that he reached in his past life, he knew all the fundamentals that connected just about everything. Since that gave him easy access to anything he wanted to master, that meant that he could master just about anything that he desired.
Even if he wasn’t the most knowledgeable of the way of the sword, he was still essentially at the same level as the handful of the strongest. The skill of that handful of experts was often as vast as the cosmos themselves.
In that regard, he could’ve easily deemed everyone on Earth to have been beneath him.
In other words, it would’ve made sense for him to have looked down on everyone else. It would’ve even been considered to be perfectly fine.
Lu Xuan casually said, “You manage to live. Quite a feat indeed. Dan Chenzi, I heard that you’ve always prided yourself on having a disciple like Yan Han. I’m curious as to how I fare in comparison to your disciple.”
Upon hearing what Lu Xuan had said, a serious expression grew on Dan Chenzi’s face.
It was true that he always prided himself on producing someone as skilled as Yan Han, who was considered a rare breed even among the many grandmasters in the history of the Taichu Path.
He always wore such a status with pride.
Even then, he still had to admit that compared to Lu Xuan, that disciple that he had prided himself of producing was probably nothing much.
It was not that Yan Han was inferior. The man definitely possessed talent unlike any other, making him truly one in a million. This was because he was able to become the best among the many disciples back in the Blessed Enclave.
Very few people in the history of mankind could’ve been considered to be at the same level as him.
However, Yan Han still paled in comparison to the dazzling gem of a person standing before Dan Chenzi.
Dan Chenzi was unable to even muster the courage to refute what Lu Xuan had said. Any attempts in doing so would have been deemed pointless; he would’ve been outright lying.
Lu Xuan wore a faint smile at the thought of how he just hit rock bottom back in his past life against Dan Chenzi, but now he was undoubtedly higher and mightier than him. Fate was indeed a mysterious thing.
Yan Han never once even considered Lu Xuan a worthy opponent back in his past life.
It was not until he began growing at a frightening rate later on that he finally caught Yan Han’s attention. As a result, he became the latter’s mortal enemy.
“Both of you had been plotting against me for one too many times. It’s now my turn to do the same to you people. I’ll cut you down today, and then I’ll cut Yan Han down in the Blessed Enclave.”
Lu Xuan made his plans clear. He had no intentions of hiding them whatsoever.
There was no need to do so, after all.
“You…” Dan Chenzi’s eyes were bloodshot. Not only was he utterly cornered at the moment, but Lu Xuan even made his intentions of cutting down his most prided masterpiece very clear.
At that moment, Dan Chenzi was completely thrown into a frenzy. He burst with an aura of boundless murderous intent, bring about his most terrifying attack.
“I’m going to kill you!”
Spiritual Aether burned all over Dan Chenzi, indicating that he was pulling out all the stops. He was pus.h.i.+ng his powers to their limits within a short amount of time, far surpa.s.sing his previous status altogether.
However, such a move would take a toll on his lifespan at the same time. For someone who was halfway into the Divine Transformation Realm, doing so came with dire consequences.
After all, being half a step into Divine Transformation Realm still fundamentally meant that he was at the Divine Treasure Realm and not the Divine Transformation Realm.
There was very little of his lifeforce remaining. At that moment, he was simply being desperate.
With a roar, Dan Chenzi brought the azure sword in his hand down onto Lu Xuan’s head from above.
Sword light shrouded the surrounding area in an endless barrage of waves, which then instantly turned into countless ma.s.sive sharks that were headed straight for Lu Xuan.
At that moment, a terrifying glint was seen in Lu Xuan’s eyes. He sheathed the Dragonslayer in his hand and clenched his fist instead before heading straight towards the sky covered in sword light.
The flash from his fist instantly shrouded everything, with boundless energy sweeping all over the place.
“Is he out of his mind? Is he seriously going against a divine weapon with his body alone?”
“Does he want to die or something? How could he beat someone half way into the Divine Transformation Realm unarmed?”
n.o.body understood what Lu Xuan was trying to achieve. They all thought that he would most likely be bisected the second he and his fist met the blades. He simply had no chance of resisting such a terrifying attack.
Many found the move to be rather regrettable, thinking that Lu Xuan was too sure of himself. Even so, there was no doubt that the move would’ve still been wasted if he died so easily.
Dan Chenzi wore a rather wicked grin on his face. He was already able to see himself killing Lu Xuan very soon.
It didn’t matter if Lu Xuan was an unparalleled genius who had never been seen before in history. He was still going to die.
However, what happened next confused everyone.
They all saw Lu Xuan instantly crus.h.i.+ng all that boundless flashes of the sword with just a single punch.
All of the ma.s.sive sharks that were conjured by the sword light immediately disappeared into thin air.
Lu Xuan’s fist clashed with the azure sword.
Dan Chenzi was heard shrieking as he lost grip of his sword. The spot connecting his thumb and index finger was subjected to tremendous force, splitting it open right away.
Blood sprayed everywhere as a result.
That azure sword immediately crumbled in midair, shattering into a skyful of glittering pieces before dispersing without leaving a trace of its existence behind.
That one punch shattered an item at the power of half way into Divine Transformation Realm. Such a level of physical power was deemed insanely formidable.
The force of Lu Xuan’s punch remained just as formidable as it landed onto Dan Chenzi.
By then, Dan Chenzi no longer had that inner armor capable of withstanding most kinds of damage.
The punch went right through his body, causing his innards to spray all over the place like a storm raining down on the ground below.
“Dan Chenzi is dead… he’s half way into Divine Transformation Realm. How could he be dead? How could he be dead?”
Many watched with mouths agape as they mumbled to themselves, unable to believe what just happened. Someone who was half a step into the Divine Transformation Realm had died right before their eyes.
