Chapter 520: Friend or Foe
A Dragon-snaring La.s.so was conjured in Lu Xuan’s hand right away, which flew at Yun Shuangying and wrapped around him.
Yun Shuangying did his best to flee right away without much effort, yet he ended up the same ways as his people from before: being whipped by the weapon and then bound. He shrieked before cras.h.i.+ng to the ground hard.
Lu Shanshan had only finished killing the one that she was fighting at that moment, severing her enemy’s head with one swipe of her sword.
Everyone was shocked by the sight. Lu Shanshan quickly killed off her enemy, yet her feat utterly paled in comparison to that of Lu Xuan, who easily took down over a dozen people all on his own.
Simply put, Lu Xuan was too insanely quick.
Lu Shanshan also killed her enemy faster than everyone expected, even though they knew what happened when beings at the Divine Treasure Realm fought with one another.
Such beings were no longer considered to be rare in that time and age. In truth, several people had already witnessed battles between beings at the Divine Treasure Realm, whether in person or through footage online.
It was common for such battles to take up to half a day. At times, they would only end when both parties had exhausted all of their Spiritual Aether reserves after fighting one whole day.
It was frightening enough to see how Lu Shanshan was able to kill someone at the Eighth Tier of Divine Treasure Realm, who was at a higher level than her, in such a short amount of time. Nevertheless, she paled in comparison to Lu Xuan.
Everyone then finally realized that a storm was indeed brewing.
It was especially so with those renowned figures before Yunxuan Villa, who were all practically high-ranking members of the Human Alliance. They all knew a thing or two about the Blessed Enclave.
With pa.s.sages leading to heaven, h.e.l.l, and other planes of existence being blocked by Lu Xuan one after another, the Blessed Enclave became the greatest threat to the Human Alliance because it was the closest to Earth.
Many saw such a thing to be something very distant in the future, and some even thought it would’ve been perfectly fine if those from the Blessed Enclave showed up.
However, what happened right there served as a wake-up call to everyone.
The advent of those from the Blessed Enclave was around the corner.
Those who claimed to be masters in cultivation were especially aware of the ma.s.sive threat and tension that such an event would bring about.
Their powers, which those masters prided themselves of so much, would have still rendered them utterly helpless before those from the Blessed Enclave.
Without surreal ent.i.ties like Lu Xuan and Lu Shanshan around, they all would have probably had to kneel before those from the Blessed Enclave.
They had almost no way of fighting back against beings of such ma.s.sive power; there was simply no way for them to resist such ent.i.ties.
“The world’s going to the dogs!”
“A storm is brewing.”
“Luckily for us, we have Yunxuan Villa. Without them, we wouldn’t have been able to fight back.”
Any forces who had been around for decades and did not get eradicated by Lu Xuan’s hand essentially supported Lu Xuan. At the very least, they did not stand against Lu Xuan; it would have only been a matter of time before Lu Xuan wiped them off the face of the earth.
They were utterly shocked by what they had just realized.
Everyone reeled back the complacency they felt before. The peace that lasted for years had eroded their wills and ambitions. What happened just now prompted them to come to their senses and go back to training earnestly again.
By the time Lu Shanshan finished cutting off the head of the one she fought, several fighters from the Heavenly Palace arrived to take away those tied up by the Dragon-snaring La.s.sos.
Everything seemed to have returned to how it was before. Fanfare was played and fireworks were shot, making it seem like the festive mood from when Liu Wanrong celebrated her 60th birthday.
Even so, everyone knew that things would never be the same again.
All of the ma.s.sive craters on the ground served as a reminder of what actually happened there.
Once the festivities were over that night, the renowned figures left and returned to whence they came. Only Lu Xuan’s family, Yun Ling’er, Yang Chengsi, Zhang Hongyang, and the other inner circle members of the family were left.
That was the only time that Lu Xuan made his appearance for the past year. Naturally, they all had to come and see him.
“Xuan, those people that you tied up with the la.s.sos are still alive, right?”
Liu Wanrong asked.
Lu Xuan nodded his head and said, “They’re alive and locked up. All of them are powerful fighters in the Divine Treasure Realm. As long as they’re not tortured, they’ll stay alive.
Everyone nodded. They were all beings at the Divine Treasure Realm, so they naturally knew just how powerful Divine Treasure Realm fighters were. The surreal functions of their mystical bodies far exceeded the imaginations of common folks, after all.
Their bodies were so hardy that extreme environments, like the cold at both poles and even the heat in a volcano, would not be enough to harm them.
They were powerful enough to even evade nuclear missiles. While they were still far from being able to take nuclear detonations head-on, they were at least able to evade them.
One could even say that nothing that existed in the natural world would be able to harm them. The only beings that could do them harm were beings of such levels as well.
Liu Wanrong wore a serious look on her face as she continued, “Even so, you could’ve just killed them off. Why did you spare them? As long as they’re still alive, people like them would be able to bring about disasters at any time.”
Yang Chengsi, Zhang Hongyang, and the others were looking especially serious. None of them had the kind of powers that Lu Xuan possessed. Lu Xuan might have been able to think nothing of those people, but the same could not be said with them.
Lu Xuan then said, “Those people are bait to me.”
“Those from the Blessed Enclave are about to come, and there is simply no way to avoid it. I’m sure everyone here knows that, and what happened was but the first wave.”
Everyone nodded. They all knew what happened, which was exactly why they had to be especially alert.
“Now that I hold their people as hostages, I’ll be able to gauge what they’re up to.” Lu Xuan said, “The advent of those from the Blessed Enclave is a double-edged sword to the planet.”
“There is no doubt that the power commanded by the Blessed Enclave is a ma.s.sive threat to the Human Alliance as of now. However, the comprehensive cultivation heritages that they possessed were no doubt a ma.s.sive boon to the Human Alliance as well. If they were to be able to integrate into the Human Alliance, we would see a huge leap in the Human Alliance’s power in a short amount of time. The power of the Human Alliance could easily grow tenfold within just 10 years.”
“Even so, wouldn’t those people agree to integrate with the Human Alliance easily? Didn’t those people want to rule over the Human Alliance instead of integrating with the Human Alliance?” Liu Wanrong immediately pointed out everything that was wrong with Lu Xuan’s explanation.
The fighters from the Blessed Enclave mastered top-notch powers, so they thought next to nothing about the Human Alliance. There was simply no way that they would ever kneel before the Human Alliance, which they had never even seen before.
Integrating into the Human Alliance meant that the Human Alliance would be taking the lead. Having the Blessed Enclave take the reins would mean those from the Blessed Enclave were the masters. The positions were completely different depending on the arrangement.
Lu Xuan then answered, “That’s correct. There’s no way they would agree to it easily, so I’m hoping to determine who will be our friends and who will be our foes. That’s the first problem we have to deal with.”
