Chapter 381: Killing Two Demons Consecutively
That golden monkey was covered in blood and his chest was apparently caved in. There was a palm print left in the crater that Lu Xuan left behind.
Despite the monkey’s severely bloodied state, he still managed to hang on by manipulating all that demonic qi about him; he was doing his best to buy himself time.
He no longer thought of defeating Lu Xuan. He had utterly no idea just how Lu Xuan managed to get that far with cultivation. The monkey, who had been unstoppable before, was unable to even begin resisting Lu Xuan’s attacks at all.
Suddenly, a ma.s.sive rumbling noise rang out from the center of that island, followed by exclamations of joy.
“It’s broken!”
The expressions of everyone present changed at that moment. The protective barrier on that Divine Tree of Enlightenment had been broken.
That golden monkey was in a thoroughly berserk state by then. He knew all too well that he was left with very few options.
All of his qi reserves were instantly mobilized, beginning to burn within his body.
All of his golden hair turned abhorrently pale in a short time.
Lu Xuan was able to immediately tell that the monkey was burning the last of his lifeforce.
“Killing myself just to severely damage you… it’s absolutely worth it.”
That monkey then brought his staff down at Lu Xuan.
Boom!
Terrifying explosions were instantly heard following that, resulting from breaking the sound barrier. The sound rang out twice and even three times over.
The monkey was moving so quickly that all everyone else could see was a ma.s.sive explosive rumble before seeing that staff landing on Lu Xuan’s body.
As the attack was brought down upon Lu Xuan, the terrifying burst of light burned everything in its path.
Everyone else saw that by simply lifting an arm, Lu Xuan successfully caught that incoming staff.
Clang!
The sound of metal clas.h.i.+ng rang out.
That staff stayed firmly in Lu Xuan’s hand, unable to budge at all.
Lu Xuan’s hand was hardly considered huge; his hand was actually smaller than that of the golden monkey before the latter grew in size. Despite that fact, he managed to firmly grasp the extremely heavy staff.
“No way!”
That golden monkey’s eyes were wide open. Blood was oozing from all over his body, and it seemed as if tears of blood were about to roll out of his eyes.
Everyone on that small island was able to sense all of the terrifying demonic power emanating from that staff as it came down upon Lu Xuan.
While the monkey had thought of possibilities of others being able to catch his attack head-on, being able to do so barehanded was totally unexpected.
Even the demons, who were all known for their exceptional physical resilience, would not have been able to take that hit of his which he brought about in full force.
Not only did he put every ounce of strength he could muster into the attack, but he had also burned away all that remained of his lifeforce in the process. He did all of that just to slow Lu Xuan down for a bit, buying the other demons time for escape.
He had never antic.i.p.ated that there was someone so insanely powerful and terrifying among the humans.
Conventional logic dictated that it was something utterly impossible.
The Myriad Demon Valley was able to foster so many unnervingly powerful beings due to its special circ.u.mstances. It was simply unthinkable for someone so terrifying emerging out of regular places.
However, the monkey had no time to think about such questions. It took Lu Xuan only a single pull to forcefully drag the monkey in his direction.
The monkey was at a disadvantage in terms of both physical resilience and power.
Lu Xuan extended his hand like a bolt of lightning. All of the Spiritual Aether around him coalesced into a dragon claw. The claw managed to break through the protective qi surrounding the golden monkey, punching right through the latter shortly afterward.
The golden monkey demon was killed on the spot.
His huge body immediately fell to the ground.
Everyone saw what happened, but no one dared to even think of moving the golden monkey’s huge dead body despite its unmistakably immense value.
The nations would all be willing to pay unbelievably high prices to buy its corpse, which would no doubt have immense research value.
The body would easily be worth over a billion US dollars.
The price was not far-fetched at all, given how the angel’s dead body from before already had an astronomically high price.
However, none of them dared to lay a finger on that dead body. The golden monkey had been someone who could have easily kill any of them before, after all. Even then, such a terrifying being was easily killed in the hands of Lu Xuan; that was what made the news of the golden monkey’s death so terrifying.
Making a move on Lu Xuan’s prey was a surefire way of digging their own graves.
Many watched what happened before them with mixed emotions. The monkey had caused a huge commotion in the northern and central regions of Huaxia, beating down many people from a myriad of sects and clans. n.o.body had been able to stop that monkey.
Before anything else, the monkey targeted the Shaolin Temple, which had existed for over a millennium. The monkey destroyed the reputation that the temple had just begun to regain not too long ago.
Had it not been for the old Celestial Master coming out himself to take care of the monkey, the face of all human cultivators would have been utterly lost.
To everyone’s surprised, such an impossibly powerful and terrifying demon was easily dealt with by Lu Xuan with just a single strike from his hand.
Many of the cultivators present had witnessed how the monkey manage to throw his weight around the place before, along with how that old Celestial Master fought that monkey.
That battle was intense. The old Celestial Master’s art of the Celestial Master Sect was unparalleled, yet he only managed to repel the monkey at best.
Many learned just how powerful and terrifying the monkey was back then.
At the moment, more people witnessed how helpless the monkey was when it faced off against Lu Xuan instead of the old Celestial Master. That was not to say that the monkey was weak; the outcome simply proved that Lu Xuan was unbelievably and frighteningly powerful.
The extent of Lu Xuan’s power had reached such frightening extents that few had even been able to begin to speculate just how powerful he was in the first place.
The US government dropped a nuclear bomb on Lu Xuan before, yet they still did not manage to kill him.
All of the devastating power inherent within Lu Xuan was out for everyone to see.
That woman in a fiery red dress, who was fighting an intense battle with Lu Shanshan, saw what just happened as well. There was no time for her to get angry; she was busy suppressing all that fear and terror inspired.
Never before had any of those demons had been beaten so badly.
Her sixth sense warned her into a frenzy immediately, so much so that one could almost see the danger signs flas.h.i.+ng furiously in her mind.
Lu Shanshan was able to completely overwhelm her, yet she was hardly even one percent as dangerous as Lu Xuan.
Blood spewed from that woman in the fiery red dress before long. Her entire being was wrapped in fiery red energy as she fled the scene at a frightening speed.
She was running so quickly that not even Lu Shanshan thought that she would be so determined to flee before. That woman disappeared before Lu Shanshan managed to react in time.
“Dammit, she’s gone!”
Lu Shanshan was very frustrated, while Lu Xuan took only a single look. He used his golden eyes to utilize his dynamic visual acuity by 10 times over, allowing him to easily catch that woman’s movements.
With much of his strength, he then swung that staff that was still in his hand.
Boom!
Boom!
Boom!
Terrifying sonic booms were heard from the air as the swing of that staff broke the sound barrier, which then caught up to the sound it created before breaking the sound barrier yet again.
That staff caught up to that woman in the fiery red dress at a speed several times that of the speed of sound, punching right through her and sending her cras.h.i.+ng to the ground below.
