Chapter 343: Accusation and Clash
Chu Yan’er and Lu Jiaxuan were both left dumbfounded.
It was obvious that neither of them ever expected things to have taken such a drastic turn.
Lu Zhengqing instantly made his move, yet it took Lu Xuan a simple thought to blow up his entire arm.
The radicality of the turn of events had evidently exceeded what they expected of cultivators.
At that moment, the commotion that took place there caught everyone’s attention.
Everyone saw how Lu Zhengqing cradled his shoulder as he screamed.
Everyone was stunned as they asked those around them what just happened.
Those big shots who had made it and were all chatting away somewhere faraway quickly rushed to the scene as well.
One man that looked to be in his fifties saw that and went up to Lu Zhengqing with a concerned look. He asked, “Zhengqing, what happened? Who did this to you?”
That middle-aged man had fury written all over his face as he glowered at everyone around him, seemingly determined to find the one who hurt his son.
“It was him, father!” Lu Zhengqing glared at Lu Xuan.
That middle-aged man glared at Lu Xuan with angry eyes and berated, “Who are you and why did you hurt my son? Oh, you are done for. Once I’m done calling the police, you’ll spend the rest of your life behind bars!”
Lu Xuan was slightly stunned. For many years, there was hardly anyone who would make such threats directly to his face.
Call the cops? What could they possibly do?
“Lu Tianyi, I don’t think my son would just act so rashly. Besides, this is Huaxia, not somewhere overseas. You can’t just do whatever you please here.”
Lu Tianxiang came and stood before Lu Xuan at that moment.
“Lu Tianxiang? So he’s your son?” Yet another square-faced man who had an air of authority about him had now appeared.
“Dad, we were almost cursed by this Lu Zhengqing guy!” Lu Jiaxuan said to the middle-aged man.
That square-faced middle-aged man was none other than Lu Jiaxuan’s father. His name was Lu Weiguo, the man in the Lu Clan who managed to become a high-ranking official at the provincial level.
“What?” Lu Weiguo’s expression drastically changed. He was considered a high-ranking official and had only heard of the Gu curses in the past. As spirit qi became increasingly restored to the world, however, he then came to know better of such things after having run into several weird happenings himself.
To n.o.body’s surprise, Lu Zhengqing immediately said in denial, “I did not!” His face was ashen as a cold sweat broke out. “They’re setting me up!”
Lu Tianyi more or less knew what happened when he heard that. Nevertheless, he still sided with his son and said, “Do you people know what you’re saying? My son knows nothing of the curses or whatever you were talking about. Don’t think for a second you people could set us up just because we’re now in Huaxia.”
Lu Tianxiang smirked and said, “Lu Tianyi, are you really gonna do this? Setting your son up? Do you even know who my son is? How hilarious! Who do you people think you are?”
The elders of the Lu Clan felt very awkward at the moment, as what happened right there and then involved two very accomplished big shots in the clan after all.
The clan had to depend on those two to supply funds and manpower if they needed anything done, and those two looked like they were about to tear each other’s throats out.
Everyone present at that moment then turned their gaze towards Lu Xuan. He was the cause of what happened, and they had no idea what Lu Xuan had been thinking.
Lu Xuan held Guoguo in his arms, sporting a rather sheepish grin on his face as he said, “You said that I set you up, huh? My dad was right. Who the h.e.l.l do you think you are? Do you really think you’re actually worth my time? You’ve clearly overestimated yourself. You should be well aware of whether or not you’re training in the Tame Head arts better than anyone.”
The expression on everyone’s faces changed right after hearing what Lu Xuan said. While none of them knew what Tame Head truly was, they nonetheless heard about the art on the internet. It was clear to everyone that it was not something good.
Lu Zhengqing immediately retorted, “I did not! Don’t think for a second you could just accuse me like that! I’m training using true Maoshan Shangqing Mystical Methods! I’m of the renowned and the righteous!”
“A renowned and righteous sect training in Tame Head curses? I wonder who has truly fallen; is it the Maoshan Sect, or is it you?” Lu Xuan chuckled as he set Guoguo down and stood with his hands behind his back.
Lu Xuan’s presence intimidated everyone. That few words that had left his mouth seemed to have an extremely high level of credibility.
At that moment, Chu Yan’er looked at Lu Xuan with curiosity in her eyes. She had initially thought Lu Xuan to be a simple rich guy from a rich family, who had little else to him other than his good looks.
From the looks of things at the moment, however, it became clear that Lu Xuan was more than meets the eye.
He was able to detect the Gu curse bugs, while she remained totally unaware of what they were. It had also only taken him a single thought to blow Lu Zhengqing’s arm off.
“I’ve already contacted the Maoshan Sect, so I’ll just leave it to them to clear things up,” Lu Xuan added.
Upon Lu Xuan mentioning the Maoshan Sect, Lu Zhengqing’s expression worsened. A tinge of fear could be seen in his eyes.
No one else around here knew if he had been training in the Tame Head curses, but he himself should’ve known about that well enough.
If the local rite of the sect were to find out about that, they would definitely be done for.
The Tame Head curses were considered heretical arts, but the Maoshan Sect was known to be a renowned and righteous sect. If others outside of the sect were to find out, there was no doubt that the Maoshan Sect would face immense humiliation.
There were still worse things to come. If the others were to find out about that, there was little else Lu Zhengqing could do but atone for his actions through death.
While there were several benefits for someone to join a renowned and righteous sect or clan, that also left them subject to several limitations.
“Who was it who dared to harm my student?”
A man was seen shouting as he descended from the air at that moment. That man was actually a Celestial Realm cultivator dressed in Taoist garb. He looked to be a Taoist in his sixties with silver hair, yet he still looked rather young.
As his robe billowed in the air, he was able to briefly suspend himself in midair using his powerful Spiritual Qi.
Everyone from the Lu Clan became pale at the sight.
After all, a cultivator of such a level of power could easily slaughter every single person of the Lu Clan in an instant if anything were to go south.
Lu Zhengqing instantly shouted, “Master, it was him! He’s the one who blew off my arm and accused me of training in Tame Head!”
That old Taoist’s face changed upon hearing that. He turned to glare at Lu Xuan as his eyes filled with murderous intent.
“You fool. You actually dare to make a move on our people of the Maoshan Sect. I don’t care who’s the one behind you. I’ll make sure you never make it out of here alive!”
That old Taoist shouted right away as he performed a seal. Everyone heard a thunderous rumble before a bolt of lightning was instantly blasted onto Lu Xuan.
“Lu Xuan!”
Lu Tianxiang reacted on instinct, wanting to help out. However, that old Taoist made his move without warning; Lu Tianxiang was unable to react in time.
A bolt of lightning blasted onto Lu Xuan’s body, yet the man emerged totally unscathed. He made it seem as if he had been hit by a mere breeze.
“This is the best you could do with the Lightning Hand technique of the Shangqing Mystical Methods of the Maoshan Sect, huh?” Lu Xuan smirked and shouted right away, “Get down here!”
That old Taoist felt himself being pulled by a powerful force right after Lu Xuan shouted, dragging him down from midair to the ground.
