Chapter 135: Insanely Powerful
Translator: Nyoi-Bo Studio Editor: Nyoi-Bo Studio
Song Lingfeng’s actions were quick, as quick as a bolt of lightning, as he pounced onto Lu Xuan in the blink of an eye.
All the snow on the path he treaded dissipated in the wake of his burst of power.
He looked like an arrow that had just been let loose, attacking at lightning speed.
“Burning Sun Strike!”
Song Lingfeng’s hands were red hot. All that power generated from his Spiritual Qi had truly made his hands burn.
That was a kind of ability unlocked only when one reached Deity level. There was a saying that went, “the feats of a formidable martial artist reach the realm of G.o.ds.”
The term “G.o.d” in that saying was referring not to a true G.o.d residing up in the heavens but to abilities that felt nothing short of G.o.dlike.
In other words, when one’s martial arts abilities were trained and honed to such levels, the martial artist themselves would have become little different than a living deity, with every single move they made packing a great deal of power.
Such was the true meaning of the level’s namesake.
That was what enabled Deity-level beings to completely overwhelm National Guardians. Despite their formidable feats, National Guardians were still mortals of flesh and blood. It was only when one reached Deity level that one’s feats could no longer be a.s.sessed with conventional logic.
Only then would one’s feats be regarded as truly G.o.dlike.
Flames shot out of Song Lingfeng’s palm strike, stunning all in the crowd who witnessed it.
Many people had only heard of Deity-level beings before and had no idea just how terrifying they were. If a National Guardian were to perform the same attack, they would probably only be able to make their hands red-hot.
However, when a Deity-level being performed the attack, their hands actually burned with scorching flames.
At that moment, there on the mountain, the crowd finally saw what “G.o.dlike feats” meant with their own eyes.
Lu Xuan, on the other hand, dished out a simple punch nonchalantly. When compared to the shocking palm strike that Song Lingfeng just threw, Lu Xuan’s punch hardly seemed worth mentioning.
However, the crowd then heard a grunt and saw Lu Xuan easily block the flaming strike without any difficulty.
Song Lingfeng did not stop after his attack was blocked by Lu Xuan. He had long speculated just how capable Lu Xuan would be, after all.
It was very possible that Lu Xuan was a true Deity through and through, which meant that it would be impossible for Song Lingfeng to severely damage him with just a single hit.
Song Lingfeng then lashed out with another strike while the blizzard continued to rage. The formless Spiritual Qi brought out by the attack immediately burst into a red hot glow as soon as he performed the strike, coming down on its target with terrifying might.
That one attack from Song Lingfeng was monstrously powerful and terrifying compared to attacks from ordinary people.
Even common National Guardians would certainly not be able to take such an attack and emerge unscathed.
“This is interesting. You are indeed far more powerful than Qiu Zhen!”
Lu Xuan laughed for a bit. Qiu Zhen had forced his breakthrough into Deity level, causing many of his feats to be significantly less than G.o.dlike. While there was no doubt that he had been far more powerful than common National Guardians, he was nonetheless far below the likes of Song Lingfeng.
“Qiu Zhen? Was that fool even worth being compared to me?” Song Lingfeng smirked and continued, “He was a n.o.body back then, and I’ve just become famous.”
The attack closed in on Lu Xuan as he continued to talk.
Lu Xuan then simply waved in response, performing the Heaven and Earth Sleeve and sweeping all the scorching red Spiritual Qi away.
“Heaven and Earth Sleeve.”
Lu Xuan laughed again and said, “I let you do whatever you wanted earlier. My turn now!”
A powerful aura then burst out all around Lu Xuan. He took mystical steps, and a ball of Spiritual Qi began to spin furiously in his hand, materializing into a long blade in an instant.
The blade cut through the air with a flash. A glowing red burst of Spiritual Qi shot out in the very next moment.
That attack easily dissipated all of Song Lingfeng’s attacks.
The old man was forced to retreat from the flash of the blade, but he continued to glare at Lu Xuan.
He had not been pulling punches with the two consecutive attacks he unleashed before. Each one of them packed powers ferocious enough to easily cause National Guardians grievous injuries.
However, Lu Xuan took those two attacks head-on like they were nothing. The entire process looked incredibly effortless.
It was right there and then that he truly realized that Lu Xuan was anything but common and ordinary, that he was absolutely greater than every other man he had encountered so far.
Lu Xuan made his move at the very next moment. The crowd saw him clawing at the ground and throwing up a great number of snowflakes. Then, the snowflakes coalesced into a snow dragon, which launched itself straight forward immediately.
Boom!
The snow dragon headed straight for Song Lingfeng.
Song Lingfeng unleashed a flurry of flaming attacks in an attempt to block the snow dragon’s a.s.sault.
However, he remained incapable of dissolving the snow dragon. He was unable even to dispel any attack from the snow dragon.
Boom!
The snow dragon crashed straight into Song Lingfeng.
Song Lingfeng was. .h.i.t squarely and instantly sent flying through the air.
The crowd was utterly shocked. The exchange of blows had been happening at incredible speed and with unparalleled fury. Every single attack packed untold amounts of power.
National Guardians were already considered surreal beings, yet Deities had proven even more terrifying than National Guardians at least 10 times over.
Any residual wave from their battle could have put even National Guardians on the defensive.
“Die!”
Song Lingfeng’s body spun several times in midair before he was able to completely dispel all the power that Lu Xuan had infused within the snow dragon that had hit him.
He felt his circulation was thrown into chaos all over his body, as if he was about to vomit blood at the very next second.
He forcefully suppressed the raging blood and then lashed out quickly into the air. The snowflakes gathered around his hands as if they were commanded to do so.
He then shoved them out with great force. The scattered snowflakes sliced through the air like throwing knives.
It was the “Celestial Maiden Scattering Flowers”, a method of using thrown objects as projectile weapons.
The crowd saw how the snowflakes shot through the air like arrows. Some hit the rocks and managed to bore actual holes into them.
The force behind the snowflakes evidently surpa.s.sed that of conventional small arms.
One can easily imagine just how frightening that attack by Song Lingfeng was.
However, Lu Xuan activated the Heaven and Earth Sleeve yet again, which easily dispelled the snowflake projectiles.
“Song Lingfeng, are you telling me that’s all you’ve got?” Lu Xuan said coldly.
“It’s still too early for you to be so c.o.c.ky, Lu Xuan!”
Song Lingfeng roared and cranked up the powers all through his body. Terrifying Spiritual Qi burst out of him, and he shot into the air like a koi fish spinning against raging currents. He then let loose, again shooting like an arrow and heading straight for Lu Xuan.
“Why don’t you have a taste of the ultimate technique I’ve been training for many years, The Burning Sun Explosion!”
He was encased in scorching red Spiritual Qi, turning into something like a bolt of red dynamite in an instant.
Song Lingfeng arrived just in front of Lu Xuan, clas.h.i.+ng with him right away.
Boom!
The clash between the two men sounded as suddenly and loudly as explosives blowing up. It threw up a huge amount of snow, making the scene look very harrowing.
“Gosh, this is really something!” That was the thought that crossed everyone’s mind when they laid eyes on that remarkable sight.
