Chapter 29: Be willing to divorce

At midnight, it started to drizzle. Gu Yan stared at the rain in front of the window. The rain dripped on the window and slid down. She had got the message that Wen Yunfeng was willing to divorce her. With complex emotions, she called Manla.

Manla was very happy for Gu Yan could divorce Wen Yunfeng. But she found Gu Yan was in a bad mood.

“I know you feel not so good, but you should change your perspective. You have no relations.h.i.+p with Wen’s family when you divorce him and you can start a new life.” Manla persuaded her to think about positive things.

“I know.” Gu Yan was speechless and had complicated emotions. On the one hand, she felt relieved when she finally was able to divorce Wen Yunfeng. On the other hand, she thought herself stupid during these two years and felt angary for what he did to her.

“Well, everything will be fine. How about a celebration after your divorce? You should be happy for you finally don’t need to stay with Wen’s family. You are a nice girl and you will find the Mr. Right in the future.” Manla motivated her.

“Mr. Right? No kidding. I am no longer believe in love.” What was love? She couldn’t understand.

“When you meet the right man, you will know it.” There were some brutes in your life so we should adjust our mentality as much as possible.

“Maybe you are right.” But now Gu Yan didn’t want to think about it.

“Well, tell me when you leave Wen’s family and I will pick you up. Hmmm…and I will keep my eyes on your job, don’t worry.” Considering Gu Yan’s state of mind, Manla worried about her.

“Sure.” Manla hung up after Gu Yan said that.

Gu Yan stood in front of the window in a daze for the whole night.

Next day, Gu Yan went to Wen’s family after was.h.i.+ng.

It was still a short distance to Wen’s family from where Gu Yan took off. She walked slowly in the rain with an umbrella. Seeing the house which she had lived in since she was a child again, she felt desolate. “It maybe because of the weather or my sad mood, the closer I get to this house, the more mixed emotions I have.”

Gu Yan finally walked to the gate of Wen’s family and stopped for a few minutes with her hair wet.

Gu Yan thought she had walked for a long time on this short journey. She took a deep breath and walked into the house without hesitation.

“Long time no see, Ms. Wen.” The butler welcomed and called her gently as always.

“Please don’t call me that. I am no longer ‘Ms. Wen’ from today. You’d better call my name.” The butler was the only one who was nice to her in Wen’s family. But she no longer belonged to Wen’s family.

“Well, finally it comes true. You are a lovely girl but Mr. Wen didn’t treasure you. Then start a new life when you leave.” He knew what was Gu Yan suffered in these two years. “Just go since there was no happiness.”

“Where is Yunfeng?’ Gu Yan forced a smile and asked.

“He is in his study and Grandma Wen is in the living room.” The butler knew why Gu Yan came here and words stopped on his lips.

“Okay, thank you.” Gu Yan put the umbrella outside the door and walked into.

Gu Yan entered the living room when Grandma Wen was sitting in the sofa and enjoying the tea.

When she saw Gu Yan, she put down the tea cup and stared at Gu Yan with dirty looks.

“h.e.l.lo.” Gu Yan said. She wanted to call her “grandma” as always but remembered something.

Grandma Wen would like to insult her as before, but Gu Yan said any words, which made her more annoyed. “Look at you! You finally find a sugar daddy and like a peac.o.c.k. Who do you think you are?” She thought.

“Did you forget the basic manners since you had lived in my house for several years?” She made troubles on purpose, but she forgot that it was her who didn’t like Gu Yan called her grandma.

“Why do you say that? Sorry, I would better shut my mouth.” Gu Yan said impa.s.sively. She didn’t need to please her anymore. She did know the manners, but Grandma Wen would never be satisfied with her whatever she did.

“Well, I knew you are ingrate. Do you plan to revenge us when you find a sugar daddy? Since you came to my family, we gave you a comfortable life. But what did you do? You had an affair when we were in trouble. How dare you came back! you are a b.i.t.c.h!” She never liked Gu Yan because of her origin and she only believed equal marriage. But for the fortune-telling said Gu Yan had a lucky-face, she wouldn’t agree with Wen Yunfeng’s marriage at all. “How dare she came to my house again since she did so many horrible things. Shame on her!”

“You believe it or not, I never betrayed Wen’s family.” Gu Yan knew what they cared about. She did it only because she cared about Wen Yunfeng and wanted to repay Wen’s family. Fine, it was useless to say that.

“Liar! Alright, it is beneath my dignity to talk with you. Divorce Yunfeng immediately and get out of my house!” She didn’t want to argue with Gu Yan any more.

Gu Yan looked at the old woman who didn’t like her when she was a child. Considering she was Wen Yunfeng’s grandmother, Gu Yan also treated her as her own grandma, but Grandma Wen never liked her. Now, Gu Yan treated her like a stranger since she had ignored and tortured Gu Yan for many times.
