Transcendence 2 1

When Nova opened her eyes, all she could see was the colour white. White walls, white floor, white everything.

"h.e.l.lo host!" A cheerful voice spoke.

Red eyes shot up, spying a floating fluorescent red ball. "What are you?" She questioned immediately. She knew she had died, she vividly remembered the pain and the blood that dyed her skin and clothes.

"Wuwu, host is so mean to system~" The ball cried, irritating Nova, but she squashed the irritation.

"System? Does this mean that my soul is here but my body is dead?"

System perked up. He could nearly cry tears of joy. "Host is so smart!" He praised, flying over and nuzzling her face.

Her eyes soften slightly, but she pushed the ball away from her. "Explain."

"Host's physical body died, but hosts soul is still alive. This is hosts Soulscape. Host must complete 10 tasks to return to her original world before she died." System explained happily.

"Are there rules that I need to know?"

"Yes. While system can help host more than normal systems, there are still limitations until host can upgrade system. System is a Revenge system, but the tasks can differ and so can the bodies host must use."

Nova let the information sink in. So far, she had deduced that she would need to take over bodies from ten different worlds before she could return to her own world to take her revenge. "Do you have a shop or anything similar?"

System bobbed up and down. "System has a shop where host can purchase skills or items. Because host is a beginner, host has been gifted a package from the higher ups to help. Would host like to open it now?"

Nova nodded, opening the package and raising a brow at the contents.

"Host is so lucky!" System shouted happily. "Host has been granted one free skill, 500 points and a health potion. Would host like to use the free skill or points now?"

"Can I use them during the worlds?" She asked curiously.

"Host can! When host enters the Soulscape, time will pause momentarily and she will stay in the Soulscape for however long and time will not pa.s.s." System answered dutifully. "Does host have any more questions or does host wish to proceed to go to the trial world?"

"If I don't complete the worlds tasks' will there be any punishments?"

System froze, before laughing nervously. "If host fails the trial world, her soul will be destroyed without the chance of reincarnation. If host fails a world after the trial world, she will be sent to a punishment world and system will not be able to help fully, only to give information."

Nova sighed. She pushed her black hair behind her ear and stared at the system with skepticism. "System, I want to go to the trial world."

"Yes host! Transferring host...5%...25%...75%...100%. Good luck host! System will give you information once you enter!"

When Nova opened her eyes, she was in a room with light pink walls, stuffed toys along the walls and shelves and a princess type bed that had canopy's hanging off the sides. Sliding off the bed gracefully, she walked over to a full length mirror and noted with surprise that the body she was inhabiting shared some of her facial features and her eyes.

"System, why do we share similarities?" Shes wondered, still staring at her appearance.

"Because Host will only inhabit bodies that share some features to her. But, host's red eyes were a must." System cheered, bobbing up and down behind her.

"So, who am I?"

"Host is now Mia Johnson, daughter of two working parents and sister of the heroine, Sarah Johnson." System answered. "Mia Johnson was cannon fodder for the heroine and the male lead, Kay Lenard. Sarah was the typical white lotus to everyone but her sister, who died because of bullying that her sister started with rumours. Because this is your trial world, you've arrived just when the rumours start."

Nova hummed thoughtfully, eyes narrowing. "So, all Mia was useful for, was cannon fodder to push the heroine and male lead together?" A smirk rose onto her full, pink lips as mischief flashed through her eyes. "So what are the missions?"

A screen flashed in front of Nova. "1 - Expose Sarah for what she is. 2 - Become more confident. 3 - Find love."

Her brow rose at the missions. "Hoh? Mia was very sweet." She noted, before she shook her head to focus on the task at hand. "Give me the memories, please."

System lit up happily, transferring the memories to his host. As Nova absorbed Mia's memories, her face darkened as she pulled up the bottom of her sweater to see bruises on her abdomen, colouring blue and yellow. "Don't worry Mia, I won't let Sarah get away with this."

"Thank you." The last of Mia's soul breathed happily, before fading away to be reincarnated.
