He had tried to offer me more percentage, and strictly speaking, it would be better if I had more percentage. It would mean more stability once I left the royal life with, or without my mother. But with the limited time and skills I have, I do not need anymore. Thus, we agreed that in the future I would receive the benefits of having my weapons be made before any other ones, free of charge once enough funds flew in.
And of course, among the deals of the contract, the most important one was; neither side shall betray the other. If by chance they do, they shall have their blood spilled in the most painful manner.
Due to the previous encounter with the bug known as Ken, I summoned Opal and ordered her to send Phillip back and remain by his side until further notice. She was upset about it, and while I didn't need to necessarily have her guard Phillip, it was better to be cautious - even towards those with pesize brains.
I walked towards my mother's room and found the door wide open. I walked in and found a healer holding their hands out as they had a magic circle summoned onto of my pale mother. Upon noticing my presence, Coco picked me up and patted my back softly as we awaited for the healer to finish the examination.
The healer retracted the magic circle and let out a tired sigh, wiping the sweat from his forehead. I frowned deeply when he turned to face us. Adam, I remembered. Adam Sinclair. He was one of the royal healer in charge of keeping those of the royal bloodline's healthy. More specifically, he was in charge of my mother and I. But because he did not want to be involved in my schemes, I had him killed off by blaming him for a future man-made epidemic that killed off two thousand citizens. When in reality it was his brother that had made the creation, and he was the genius who found the cure for it.
I felt my heart feel heavy.
"How is she?" Becca, who stood on the other side of my mother's bed, asked. Sir Sinclair smiled softly, "She simply over a.s.serted herself. The proper rest and medication should be enough. On the other hand, I've found traces of an unknown magic that does not belong to her. I can't seem to pinpoint exactly what it's doing to her, or where it came from, but as it isn't damaging her in anyway, it should be fine."
Again, I noticed. In my last life I had heard the same, exact words from him. And he was right. Whatever magic existed in her didn't cause any damage, and her death was her own fault. Yet the gnawing feeling eating away at me didn't go away. Many questions flew across my mind as to what it could be, and why it was inside of my mother; living silently and without the slightest movement.
As Draco escorted out the healer whom I've once wronged, Coco carried me back to my room. And in the body of the child me, I felt my eyes get drowsy before sleep consumed me.
