After recalling some information about his employees, Caesar decided to head towards the workshop where he had first decided to craft the crossbow. If his memory served him correctly, a large group of engineers and blacksmiths had long agreed to help him craft weapons for payment.

The experienced engineer, Danny, and the proficient blacksmith, Roy were his two main a.s.sets. From his understanding, both had agreed to help him and become his employees on the condition that he continuously supplied them with exotic patents.

Caesar, however, had not given them any new blueprints or ideas for a long while. Thus, it was long overdue that he held a meeting and proved himself to his workers so that they adored him even more. Naturally, it was also time for him to give out more bonus paychecks and promotions.

A business cannot thrive if its workers have no sense of progression nor improvement. Promotions give employees a goal and something to strive for, however, this also causes a bit of difficulty for the boss. If one were to promote the wrong individuals, an innumerable amount of problems would occur.

Thinking to here, Caesar quickened his pace and soon arrived at the more northern side of Rahvin kingdom. The buildings were built tall and st.u.r.dy, not a single speck of dust in sight. In contrast, the houses on the western, eastern, and south side of Rahvin kingdom were built of cheap materials.

Caesar couldn't help but admire the vibrant colors and strong bricks that decorated the large buildings as he moved through the somewhat desolate streets. They were wider than normal, however, not many merchants nor civilians pa.s.sed by. An a.s.sortment of guards, mansions, courtyards, and other rich luxuries scared them off.

This was where most of the n.o.bles lived, as such, most normal people steered far away from here. The stories of corrupt n.o.bles kidnapping and murdering commoners were far too normal for any intelligent person to tread into this zone.

Unfortunately, Caesar's workshop belongs here, which was where Danny resided. Thankfully, however, because it was a well-known fact that they worked for Caesar, none of the n.o.bles dared to cause troubles there.

As such, Caesar's lone figure soon transversed the quiet streets and entered into a very open and squarish area. The dirt was layered perfectly and not a single protruding rock could be seen, but many different contraptions, tables, and umbrellas were present.

A group of older men were busy hammering down on a few unfinished ballistae and trebuchets. Sweat soaked their clothes as the sound of hammering echoed out, not a single complaint was uttered from their lips.

Danny could be seen on the far eastern side of the squarish field drinking a gla.s.s of chilled water whilst wiping his sweat with a piece of cloth. He possessed a beaming smile as he observed the large batch of finished crossbows in a nearby crate.

Caesar stayed there and dallied for a few moments before taking a few steps forward and loudly clapping his hands, garnering the attention of those present. The dozen or so engineers immediately s.h.i.+fted their attention to Caesar, resulting in their eyes opening up wide in surprise.

He wasn't ornamented in his usual fancy outfit, however, his breathtaking appearance was very hard to forget. As such, Danny immediately tossed his gla.s.s of water to the side and excitedly approached him.

His face seemed to have dropped a few years in age as he reached Caesar and shook his hands wildly. "I thought you had forgotten about us!" Danny stammered, "we' have been loyally crafting weapons for months now, however, we have only received money as repayment." he said with a sigh and looked up at Caesar expectantly.

Although Danny enjoyed the extra money, it wasn't actually necessary for an engineer of his caliber. The fact that he owned a house and a workshop within the northern side of Rahvin kingdom was a testament to that. The reason he had agreed to help Caesar in the first place was due to his respect he felt towards him, as a fellow craftsman.

Nonetheless, Danny never failed to continue and craft the weapons each and every day for Caesar. Just the mere chance of Caesar returning and granting him another complex blueprint brought a smile to his face.

Caesar knew of his expectations and first calmed him down before scanning the other workers. "Would it be possible to gain the statistics of the hardest working workers?" Caesar asked, his intentions being vague.

After hearing his words, Danny quickly recollected himself and nodded his head before heading towards a small table. A stack of papers rested on the small platform and Danny browsed through them for a few moments before finally grasping a rather old looking piece of parchment.

After grabbing the piece of paper, Danny quickly returned back and handed it to Caesar. "This is a list of the workers that had clocked in and out during our few months of work," Danny said, "each worker is required to clock out when he leaves, and clock in when he enters."

Caesar briefly nodded his head and scanned through the paper whilst inwardly blacklisting and praising the individuals that worked lazily and hard respectively. He scrutinized the piece of paper for a few more moments before raising his eyes and gazing upon the anxious workers.

A small chuckle escaped from his lips, "don't fret, none of you have done anything wrong in particular," Caesar said, "it's just that I am looking for outstanding workers to promote and grant a pay-raise."

After talking to here, Caesar stashed the piece of paper in his right pant pocket and smiled lightly. He didn't even need to hear their replies to know that they were excited and looking forward to the future.

"Tomorrow at dusk, we'll be holding a meeting at the palace," Caesar said, "Just give the guards my name, and they should let you pa.s.s. I'll inform them when I return." He continued as he turned around and waved.

He figured he would go over the important things tomorrow, while also helping the fox-kin integrate into the military. This way, he could hit two birds with one stone whilst also further increasing the strength, productivity, and influence of Rahvin kingdom.

The tongue-tied workers refrained from saying anything and even Danny slouched his shoulders disappointingly. He had missed his chance to ask Caesar if he had invented or thought about anything new.

"I'll be the first one there tomorrow!" Danny roared at the top of his lungs and returned back to work, hoping his words reached Caesar's ears.
