Chapter 68

"Kill us all?" Loti laughed.

The acc.u.mulation of mana had finally finished at this moment. The mana ball was so bright it was similar to the sun high up in the sky.

"Go!" Loti commanded.

Immediately as the command was issued, the huge ball of mana began to descend.

[Bullet Time]!

Time froze and the mana ball froze in the air. Spring-Autumn carried Rainmist by the waist with one arm and held his sword with the other.

His green eyes s.h.i.+ning brightly, [Attribute Cloak] began to change form. The sword increased in size and began to resemble that of an oversized cleaver.

[Attribute Cloak: Cleaver Form]

"Today, there will be blood," Spring-Autumn said simply.

One by one, he sliced off the heads of the [Users] that took part in forming the huge mana ball.

It was dead silent in the time-frozen world. Spring-Autumn took his time in beheading each individual. It did not matter that he had to hold [Bullet Time] for a long time. Every individual that had the intent to kill received special care for him.

One by one, heads rolled down in the frozen world. There was no funny business with his slices. Blood stained his cleaver and dripped down.

One head.

Two heads.

Ten heads.

Twenty heads.

Thirty heads.

They rolled down the gra.s.s in the timeless world, leaving a trail of blood across the floor.

Boom!

[Bullet Time] ended. A huge crater appeared in the location Spring-Autumn was previously standing.

"Yes!" The surrounding men cheered. That was until they noticed something was wrong.

They turned to look at the [Users] who were behind this attack.

The scene left them chilled to their spine. Dozens of figures stood tall. They were all headless…

Heads rolled down the ground. The green gra.s.s was entirely filled with blood. The red blood was a stark contrast to the fresh green gra.s.s.

Thud!

The first headless corpse fell down.

Thud! Thud! Thud!

After the first corpse fell, the rest followed. A fountain of blood exploded out from each corpses when they fell from the floor.

Loti's knees buckled at this scene. Spring-Autumn had purposely left him alive. He stood in front of the blue-haired man who he once saved from lizardmen.

Loti was kneeling on the ground, holding his stomach as he vomited at the gruesome scene. Spring-Autumn's light brown hair blew with the wind. His bright green eyes shone brightly under the sun. In one hand, he held a blood-stained cleaver, dripping wet with fresh blood. In his other hand, he held the beautiful Rainmist who he knocked unconscious.

"It's time for you to die," Spring-Autumn said with no emotion in his voice.

Thud!

Loti's decapitated head rolled across the gra.s.sy field. He died with an expression of pure fear on his face, vomit still coming out of his mouth.

With Loti's death, Spring-Autumn faced the several hundred stupefied crowd. They did not move. They could not move. They were too shocked by the death of nearly a hundred [Users] in an instant.

Spring-Autumn's lingering gaze on them broke them out of their stunned state.

"I don't care how many of you are here. You are all going to die today," The moment his voice entered their ears, he vanished from their sights.

The moment he appeared again, several hundred of them had already died…

It was a scene similar to what happened before. Heads filled the gra.s.sy field followed by the sound of bodies falling to the ground.

However, even with several hundred gone, the crowd did not seem like they had diminished in numbers at all.

It was unknown who said it. A yell broke out from the crowd. "It's just one man! We can kill him!"

That cry awakened many from their fears. It was a do or die!

"Arghh!" A war cry broke out from the men and they ran like madmen towards Spring-Autumn.

If they did not kill him first, he was going to kill them! Fear was not an option!

Various abilities rained down from the sky.

Fireb.a.l.l.s, wind slashes, water b.a.l.l.s, boulders, arrows, guns.

Spring-Autumn vanished from their sights and several dozen people were once again decapitated.

"He's getting tired! Kill him!" They continued to roar to boost morale.

In Spring-Autumn's eye, all he saw was red.

It was like squis.h.i.+ng an ant to death. An act many had done as a child. It was effortless to kill these lives he had deemed worthless.

[Bullet TIme]

Kill.

[Bullet Time]

Kill.

The sound of water rushed into his ears. He could see the emerging river in his timeless world. It was getting harder to enter [Bullet Time] but he continued to kill.

Blood stained his clothes. His bespoke suit that Rainmist had gifted him was dyed with blood. It gave him a dapper kind of elegance in his bloodbath.

Slowly, the number diminished.

The attacks did not cease. It was relentless. When he exited out of [Bullet Time] the attacks would land.

The former gra.s.sy field became scorched. There were craters everywhere. Some areas became mushy and muddy, akin to a swamp. Other areas had boulders lodged into them. The abilities continued to rain down but it never hit its target.

Spring-Autumn was getting exhausted. There were corpses everywhere around him. The river was getting closer and closer. He could no longer enter [Bullet Time] or else the water would flood in.

He took a moment to stop his attacks.

When he stopped, others stopped too. The crowd had finally realized that their number had diminished by half. Everywhere they walked was filled with blood. The people in the back could finally get a full view of what had happened around Spring-Autumn.

Spring-Autumn's cleaver continued to drip with blood. Another set of abilities rained down from above. This time, he used the cleaver to deflect away the abilities.

Even without [Bullet Time], with just [Chrono Vision], he was untouchable.

"Keep going! He's tired!" The crowd became motivated once again upon noticing that Spring-Autumn was deflecting their attacks.

Boom! Boom!

The abilities rained down nonstop and Spring-Autumn had to constantly deflect it away.

At this moment, a shadow wiggled its way near Spring-Autumn. It was quick, deadly, and silent. Spring-Autumn's green eyes s.h.i.+fted to the shadow. He had seen it coming with his [Chrono Vision]

"Your death has come!" Shadow yelled as he jumped out of the shadow in his werewolf form.

Spring-Autumn had his hands full. He could not defend Shadow's attack at the same time as he was deflecting the abilities away.

Boom!

His body flew away like a kite at Shadow's attack. It was nothing serious, however. At the last moment, he was able to s.h.i.+ft his cleaver into a s.h.i.+eld.

Shadow did not miss a beat when Spring-Autumn flew away. His werewolf form vanished from the spot and appeared again in the air.

In the air, Spring-Autumn could not dodge the attack.

Boom!

He was knocked down from the air, spiraling like a meteor towards the bloodied gra.s.s field. At the field, there was someone waiting for him with a sword in hand.

Unexpectedly, it was Winter!

His [Suppression Sword] gleamed a deadly light under the sun. At the ground, Winter was waiting to attack him. In the sky, Shadow was falling down to hit him with another strike.

Also at the ground was the 500 odd crowd. Their abilities, arrows, and guns were fully charged waiting to strike Spring-Autumn.

A moment of carelessness led to an inescapable situation!

Spring-Autumn's mind remained calmed even at this critical moment. His [Chrono Vision] told him of his future. He held the unconscious Rainmist tightly to himself.

There was only one ability he could bet on now.

[Bullet Time]!

The world became gray and time slowed down.

Woos.h.!.+

The sound of water could be heard. He could see the river closing in. Entering this [Bullet Time] had used up the last of Spring-Autumn's mental energy.

The river closed in rapidly. Faster than he had antic.i.p.ated. He could do nothing as the water completely closed in, was.h.i.+ng him away into the [River of Time].
