Zhuang Yue didn't replied to what Xia Wei said. Instead, she pulled her hand away from Xia Wei's hold and averted her eyes from Xia Wei's stares. "That man called Feng Qiang, is he your a.s.sistant?" Zhuang Yue asked out of nowhere. Xia Wei was silent for a while because Zhuang Yue's question surprised him.
"Yes, he is. He saw you at the mall. He was the one who informed me that you are already back." Xia Wei said. Upon hearing what Xia Wei said Zhuang Yue suddenly started laughing.
"I see. So that's why he was really familiar. Turns out he was your a.s.sistant." Zhuang Yue said while laughing while Xia Wei's confusedly stared at her. After laughing for a few seconds, Zhuang Yue suddenly stopped and turn her head to Xia Wei again and gazed directly into his eyes. "I'm sorry, Alber…Mr. Xia but I can't do what you are asking me to do." Zhuang Yue said coldly and seriously.
Xia Wei was taken aback by her words because this is the first time Zhuang Yue treated him like this. "What do you mean by that? Aren't you----" Before Xia Wei could finish what he was saying, Zhuang Yue interrupted him.
"I'm already married. I also have a daughter. I'm sorry but we can't happen anymore, Mr. Xia." Zhuang Yue said looking so serious.
'I'm sorry, Alberghi. But I really have to do this.' Zhuang Yue thought.
Xia Wei felt a little hurt by her words because it was obvious that she really doesn't want to have anything to do with him again but hearing her words also made him laugh. Xia Wei laughed so hard that he looks crazy. Now it was Zhuang Yue who was confused. She threw him a blank look.
Xia Wei's laugh lasted a while, this was the first time he laughed like this. After laughing, he turned and looked at the confused Zhuang Yue. "Are you wondering why I laughed?" Xia Wei asked casually, his tone also has a hint of not being bothered at all by what Zhuang Yue had said earlier.
Zhuang Yue didn't replied to him but she nodded instead. Seeing her nod, Xia Wei smiled and said: "I just find what you said funny. Married? That's a lie, I know that you are still single. Daughter? If you were talking about the child that's with you when Feng Qiang saw you, I know that she is the daughter of your brother and your sister-in-law. Do you really think that I would believe what you've said earlier knowing the fact that you are still single and not a mother yet?"
Zhuang Yue wasn't shocked by what Xia Wei said because she already expected that Xia Wei already did an investigation about her.
'Even though I'm not married, she really is my daughter. Our daughter.' Zhuang Yue thought.
Seeing that Zhuang Yue wasn't shocked didn't bother Xia Wei because he thought that Zhuang Yue might already knew the reason that he knows that much was because he had investigated her already. "So what are you still afraid of? Why can't you stay with me?" Xia Wei asked seriously this time.
"You are already getting married. I----" Before Zhuang Yue could finish what she was saying Xia Wei interrupted her.
"I won't be marrying anyone but you. If you do not believe me, we can go to the Civil Affairs office this instant and registered our marriage first before having the ceremony." Xia Wei said while smiling. Zhuang Yue's eyes widened hearing what Xia Wei said and she stared at him with disbelief. She really didn't expect Xia Wei to say that but deep inside it made her really happy.
"So don't think about me getting married to anyone but you. Even if I'm engaged to that woman Su w.a.n.gshu, I won't marry her." Xia Wei said seriously. "Besides, I was not the one who made that engagement in the first place, it was my old man. No matter what happens, you are the only one for me. Not her. I won't marry any other woman aside from you even if I die. So please trust me and don't leave me again" Xia Wei continued and then he rests his head on Zhuang Yue's shoulder. Zhuang Yue let Xia Wei rest his head on her shoulders while she observed him. He did look so tired.
"Alright. I will tell you the truth since I know that you already investigated me. Yes, I'm not really married." Zhuang Yue said and then upon hearing her, Xia Wei smiled and said: "I know."
"But what if I really do have a daughter already? Will you---" Before Zhuang Yue could finish, Xia Wei interrupted her again.
"About that…" Xia Wei said and then he lifts his head from Zhuang Yue's shoulder. He turned to Zhuang Yue and stared directly into her eyes. "If you really do have a daughter, I will accept her. I will accept both of you. I will treat her as my own. I will be a father to her. I will love her as much as I love you." Xia Wei continued while looking so sincere.
This time, after what Xia Wei said, the tears that formed around Zhuang Yue's eyes earlier fell down uncontrollably. Xia Wei was shocked upon seeing Zhuang Yue's tears. He didn't know what he said that made her cry.
"Why are you crying?" Xia Wei asked anxiously while wiping Zhuang Yue's tears using his hand. Zhuang Yue didn't answer him but she asked him a question again instead.
"Then what if I am really married and already have a family?" Zhuang Yue asked in a choked up voice.
"Then I will wish you and your family's happiness. I will let you go but I won't stop loving you. I will love you, only you, until I die even if I am not the one by your side." Xia Wei said seriously. This made Zhuang Yue cried more.
"Jeez! Why you crying so hard right now? I didn't say anything that to make you cry, right?" Xia Wei said while looking so anxious. But Zhuang Yue didn't answer him.
"You're so stupid. If you really do that, you will be alone your whole life. It will be better if you marry someone else rather than being alone." Zhuang Yue said while crying still.
"I won't be happy even if I married someone else apart from you. I don't mind being alone as long as I can see you happy. Your happiness is my happiness because you are the most important person in my life." Xia Wei said seriously and then he chuckled and speak again. "Yes, I'm so stupid but I'm willing to be so stupid my whole life for you because I love you."
Hearing Xia Wei's confession for the first time, Zhuang Yue didn't answer and remained in tears. Xia Wei didn't know what to do to make her stop crying. He was not used to seeing the woman he loves crying. Xia Wei can't think of anything to make Zhuang Yue stopped crying so he just pulled her and kissed her pa.s.sionately.
