It took just one day for my life to do a 180...
If meeting my so called bonded Alpha was not enough, he suddenly professed his love for me and is actually expressing his regret on treating me bad. It was just too much for me to process. Why was it so hard for me to live a normal, simple life. I need to take a break and digest all the events that happened since yesterday morning
When I returned home, I saw Twen was playing with the tricycle I got him the other day. It was his day off from school. I and him having some lone time to spent is very rare. Twen was busy riding his tricycle round the room, but stopped when he saw me
"Mommy?" he called looking at me in surprise
"What's up munchkin?" I asked. He can really make me forget all my worries. This little devil!
"You don't have work today?" he asked gazing at me innocently
"Mommy was left early today" I smiled at him
Actually that was partially true. After bandaging my hand, Robbie asked me to go back home and think over the resignation again as I have some responsibility and unlike him, I don't run away from it. I can't help feeling that he was trying to mock me. But I didn't want to stay with him for long, so I simply left.
"Mommy what happened to your hand? Did you get burnt again" Twen said quickly getting off his ride and placing his little hands on my bandaged one.
In the beginning of my chef's career, I often came home with oil burns, cut marks and scalding. So, he was used to seeing my hands covered in Bandaids but this was first time he was seeing me bandaged so he was looking very worried. Even though, he grew up mostly alone, he had turned out to be sensitive and caring.
"It is nothing. Mommy is strong. He can handle this little injuries" I said placing my hands on both side of my waist.
He still looked worried, so I said, "Munchkin wanna go for a drive?"
His worries dissolved and he looked at me elated, "Drive!!"
"Yes. A looooong drive to the beaches?"
"Really?" he asked his eyes glowing with joy
"Yes. Now quickly go take a bath and get ready. We'll have a lot of fun today" I told him
"Yaaaaayyyyy....beachessss" he said jumping in happiness and then hurrying to the bathroom.
I don't get lone time with him. So, I should make it up for him. I went and took a backpack. I quickly packed all the essentials; water, medicines, shots, some snacks, flip flops, sun screen cream, umbrella, towels, combs, body wash soap and shampoo. I looked through again to make sure I had everything.
Then, I helped Twen change and I got ready myself. We hurried to our car. After a long time I saw Twen so happy. And we took off.
When I first came to this city, Twen was just a baby. I had no place to go. I begged around for few days to feed Twen. I didn't care about me being hungry but I didn't want Twen to suffer.
One day while begging I came across Fred. He had mixed features and used to speak with weird accent. But he was a very warm hearted guy. Twen got fever at that time and I thought I would lose him. I was frantic. It was one of the darkest days. Fred took me in. He used to live in a house near the beach. The sight from inside his house was outstanding. I was worried that he might have ulterior motive but he didn't. He asked me to do the household ch.o.r.es for him and in return, he would allow me to stay and give me food. I was extremely grateful. I dusted the house, vacuumed it, did the dishes, and washed the clothes.
On his birthday, I wanted to celebrate it and also express my grat.i.tude, so I prepared a simple meal. When he came back, he was very surprised. After having the food, he was very moved and couldn't stop praising me. Next day, he took me to his dad's small restaurant, where through his recommendation, I started my first job. And he was also the first friend I made here. I wish I could meet him again today. Twen should also meet the man who saved our lives.
