"Ladies and gentlemen, our beloved friends from the press, we are indeed very grateful that you're all with us today for the press conference of our new movie, Sweet Memories."
Everyone clapped their hands when Director Han started his greetings. He was seated right next to Producer Zhang, then Si Weimin. The spot beside Si Weimin was designated for the female lead so Xu Jia Li sat there. The two of them acted civil as they nodded to each other.
On Xu Jia Li's left was Li Yun, then Qi Xenjin. The other casts were standing at the back.
Qi Xenjin was really in a foul mood when she saw Xu Jia Li wearing a beautiful gown. She tried everything to mess with her and yet Xu Jia Li was able to pull off a magnificent gown in a short span of time.
She was in awe when she realized that she knew that design well. It was a timeless cla.s.sic tulle gown designed by a Chinese-Italian fas.h.i.+on designer. Andrei Portenari was known to make only one gown for every design which made his creation more sought after. She once saw it on a magazine and fell in love with it in an instant.
She even asked Hui Ruo to contact the designer but they were informed that it was only already purchased. They tried to ask the name of the buyer but they didn't disclose any information.
This made Qi Xenjin even shock to see Xu Jia Li wearing it.
Li Yun kept gazing at Xu Jia Li which made Qi Xenjin abhorred her presence. However, she pretended to be cool as she smiled sweetly at everyone. Deep down, she was fuming with anger that all she wanted was to hurt Xu Jia Li.
'That b.i.t.c.h! Where on earth did she get that gown? Why did she always have to steal Yun-ge's attention? Just wait you b.i.t.c.h!'
On the other hand, not once did Xu Jia Li pay any attention to Qi Xenjin. She acknowledged Li Yun earlier when she nodded at him but that's how far she could get. Her whole attention was focused on the man beside her.
Xu Jia Li's heart beat fast when Si Weimin's elbow brushed through hers. She could also smell his signature perfume mixed with his manly fragrance. She contained her emotions as she tried her best to remain calm.
However, Si Weimin pretended to accidentally hold Xu Jia Li's hand as he grabbed the gla.s.s of water on the table. This only made Xu Jia Li's heart pound faster.
Xu Jia Li gasped a little before she secretly pinched Si Weimin on his side. Then, she saw him typing on his phone. Her phone vibrated after a while and she suppressed her laughter when she read his message.
[Do you miss me that much? :D]
[I don't even remember who you are. :P ] Xu Jia Li playfully answered.
[Tss. You're vicious. :C You can't even admit that you miss me and all you wanted is to touch me. xD]
Instead of answering, Xu Jia Li pinched Si Weimin again. This time she made sure to do it harder.
[Ouch! That hurts! You still owe me, remember? And now, look! You even pinched me two times. I think you're getting really bolder. I'm racking my brain for the best compensation. Hmm, how about you give me a kiss? :P]
Xu Jia Li's face turned red after reading Si Weimin's reply. She had no courage to continue since Si Weimin was so good at teasing her. She placed her phone on the table and focused her attention on the event.
A warm smile flashed across Si Weimin's face when he saw her blush. He leaned closer to his side before he whispered, "You look so beautiful in that dress. I thought I might not see you ever wearing that."
Xu Jia Li's eyes widened with disbelief. She didn't know that the anonymous fan who sent the gown was actually Si Weimin. She somehow felt a bit grateful for Qi Xenjin for ruining the gown she was about to wear because she had the chance to wear Si Weimin's gift instead.
She sneaked a glance at Si Weimin before she pretended not to hear what he said.
"We will start with answering some questions from you. Our only request is for you to refrain from asking irrelevant questions. We may start. Thank you" Director Han stated.
The reporters were disappointed when they heard Director Han but they chose to hold back with their questions.
One of the reporters stood and asked, "For Director Han, when will the shooting commence?"
"We will begin filming next week."
Other reporters followed as they asked important questions about the movie. When everyone had their turns, Reporter Hong stood up before he asked in a rude manner, "My brothers in the press, why asked unimportant questions like that?
All attention was now focused on Reporter Hong.
He grinned as he continued, "Why don't we ask relevant questions that really mattered? Didn't anyone want to know why Li Yun suddenly had a huge fight that they want to conceal? Should we just stand here while they feed us with c.r.a.p? They don't even tell us about the male lead!"
Reporter Hong stopped for a while before he emphasized, "Is it really Si Weimin? The male lead is Si Weimin right? Since he can't let anyone get into Xu Jia Li. And because Xu Jia Li kept on hara.s.sing Li Yun, CEO Si became furious that he let out his anger on him."
"It was also Xu Jia Li who got between Qi Xenjin and Li Yun's relations.h.i.+p. We all know how this dirty thing works."
After hearing what Reporter Hong said, their gazes focused on Li Yun, then Xu Jia Li and Si Weimin.
"What? Can't anyone open their eyes? What we have here isn't an ordinary love triangle. They keep protecting Xu Jia Li because she always work her ways with men!"
"Stop! Stop slandering Senior Xu! H-how dare you judge her? No one should judge her for what she decided to do. Please stop!"
Qi Xenjin stood on her seat, tears already forming on her eyes.
The reporters' conviction about Xu Jia Li's scandalous affairs intensified. Qi Xenjin's words strengthened their doubts.
Xu Jia Li couldn't help but laugh inside. She really admired how two-faced Qi Xenjin was. While Si Weimin only threw a disgusted look on Qi Xenjin's way. The two of them were as calm as ever.
"Senior Xu…" Qi Xenjin was about to walk towards Xu Jia Li when she was stopped by Li Yun. She could feel the force in his hand around her wrist. Afraid to cause any commotion, she slowly sat on her chair.
'Stupid b.i.t.c.h! How dare you seduce Yun-ge!'
