But deep inside Paul was mortified. His relations.h.i.+p with Laura was not that serious. They've been a couple for almost a year. Moreover, he became bored with their relations.h.i.+p that he looked for some adventure and there he met Ingrid, the woman who sparked his interest.
However, accidents happened, Laura got pregnant and both of their families wanted them to get married soon. But he could not marry Ingrid because he thought that she's an ordinary woman, his family won't accept her. Whereas Laura's the daughter of his father's business partner.
'Well, I didn't promise Ingrid anything, we're just having fun and there's no harm done." He thought so he decided to ignore and forget everything.
Ingrid was brought to the hospital but she seems like dead. Her eyes went black and her body's trembling. Liane has been calling her name but she didn't respond. Her best friend panicked and cried, too at the sight of her.
"I am so sorry, sis. It's my fault that I insisted to go, if I wasn't driven by emotion, you'll not be like this. Sis, please look at me. Listen to me." Liane said while sobbing.
Her condition didn't improve as the days gone by. The doctor explained that she's suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder. She would try to hurt herself; she wouldn't speak nor look to anyone but just stared outside the window.
Because of anxiety, Ingrid couldn't sleep and became dependent to sleeping pills. Liane was the one who was there for her and didn't leave her. At night, Liane would often be awakened by Ingrid's who keeps saying
"I'm not good enough, I'm not worthy to be loved." Then Liane would again embraced her, comfort her and shed tears silently for her best friend, because everytime she would try to call her parents she would scream and would accuse Liane that she'd betray her, too. Almost every week they would often go to her psychiatrist to check for improvement.
Until one day, Ingrid got up early, took a bath, cleansed herself thoroughly and prepared breakfast for her and Liane. When Liane woke she panicked again thinking that Ingrid did harm to herself again, but to her shock, she saw her in the dining room, waiting for her.
"Good morning, sis. I miss you..." Ingrid's smiled and her smile was the most beautiful smile Liane had seen in her entire life.
Liane fell to her knees and cried. "Oh G.o.d! Thank You for bringing back my best friend!"
They both cried for about an hour and after that they laughed and ate their breakfast. They both decided to resign in their work and transferred to Diamond country and applied in Clint Briggs Company.

"I was so humiliated and degraded at that time. Just the thought of me introducing myself as the girlfriend of that b.a.s.t.a.r.d of a man, I wished that I died that day due to shame! It was hard to move on, and that left a scar but the wound is still fresh. It didn't heal, and I think I couldn't love anymore. I'm still afraid Cliff... even until now."
Clifford wanted to go back and smashed Paul's face, to ruin his life and take everything he has. He was never been so furious in his life, his heart ached for this woman, and he'll do everything just to protect her and their son, even if it cost his life.
He slammed the steering wheel and diverted his anger to it, however, Ingrid needed his comfort this time.
Ingrid didn't notice that her face were wet with tears until Clifford wiped it with his hands. She did not cry like this for a long time because she promised to herself that she will never ever love a man nor shed even a single tear for them.
But Paul's sudden appearance brought back the painful past that she wanted to bury and forget.
"I'll make that b.a.s.t.a.r.d pay for everything he has done to you. He needed to be taught a lesson!"
"Oh no please don't Cliff. He's not worthy of your time nor your attention... but the only thing I feared is that you'll be just like all of them, sooner you'll also leave me because I'm not good enough and you will later realize that I'm not worthy of your love and attention."
All of a sudden Clifford's tears fell. His heart breaks for her, her insecurities deeply rooted that mere words is not enough to comfort her. He wanted to wipe all those painful memories that she experienced.
He pulled the woman to his embrace and as he spoke he shed tears, "For the wrong men, you'll never be good enough, Ingrid, but to me you are more than enough and you're worth loving."
