The Journey To An Unknown Destination 5 First Day At The Gym

Her alarm started to buzz and vibrate. She got up, low-spirited. She yawned heavily. She obviously didn't sleep comfortably. After all the pain she suffered last night, her dreams were crushed. But she had planned to get into games, confidentially. She tossing and turning all night. Even in her drams she was upset, thinking of strategies of how to enter games.

She splashed the water on her face, her eyes open wide by the cold water. Torture, she thought. Just when she was about to leave, she held the forum in her hand, all empty. Various games were enlisted on it. Badminton, tennis, cycling, sports climbing, soccer, fencing, shot put, hurdle race, relays, karate, archery. The list was almost endless.

It seemed more like she was entering the Olympics, rather than a usual compet.i.tion between the students and ultimately, different colleges. So many new games were added this year, making it feel more top-notch.

Looking at the time, she headed for college. It was half past seven, quite early. Her mom was busy in the kitchen, she didn't realized that Emily was standing behind her for two whole minutes. Emily sighed and went out on her way to school. When the door close shut behind her, Alicia then realized that Emily had gone.

Linda met Emily in cla.s.s. Emily quietly sat down beside her and took out a book and started to study. All this time Linda stared at Emily, shocked, her eyes open wide without blinking even once. She never saw Emily so upset, at such a little thing, at least that's what she thought. "Emily?" Linda called out to her. "What?" Emily snapped. It lead to another shock for Linda, however, being her bestie, she needed to support her. "Uhm. Remember the promise last night?" Linda asked. Emily closed her book and replied in a low voice, "Yes… So?"

"I thought we'd go to a restaurant or café, but how about we go to a place of your choice? How's that?" smiled Linda. Emily nodded. "So where to?" asked Linda politely. Hearing this, she told Linda about her plans and going to the gym. Linda was quite happy and agreed to go right after school. "I'm pretty sure you'll need a break from studies, let's spend a day out, no doubt you'll feel way better than now!"

Emily smiled. "Thank you for always being on my side." She said. Linda replied while punching on Emily's shoulder, "Hah! Thanks to a best friend, nope. That's what friends are for dummy!"

Five minutes before cla.s.s started Ivy and Hazel entered and took their seats. Shooting rebellious looks at the two, and then completely ignoring them and settling down. It was exactly eight o' clock that the teacher arrived, perfect timing, thought Emily. And started off the day with mathematics. Ugh! What torture, thought everyone.

The cla.s.ses went by rather quickly, in fact the whole day. In the last cla.s.s, the teacher asked for the forums. The students partic.i.p.ating in the sports handed out the forums, except Emily. However the teacher said that you can hand out the forums within this week, before the next Monday, as the forums will be submitted to the main office department of the college. This was somewhat of a good news to Emily, who needed to figure out a plan for her secretive activity.

After the day at college ended, Emily and Linda headed out toward the gym. It was situated near to Emily's house as compared to other gyms in the city. But before they took a step inside the gym, they had a little snack at the café nearby. They were quite refreshed now and entered the gym.

It was a very cool and pleasant area. Different machines arranged perfectly, indeed a heaven for OCD. There was an extremely yummy smell of warm coffee, but they couldn't really see someone drinking coffee. Perhaps some sort of amazing air freshener, Emily thought. Only a few people were exercising on the machines. It was a very quiet place, with not many people.

On the counter nearby, a man was reading a newspaper. As soon as he saw the two enter, he waved at them and greeted, "h.e.l.lo, ladies! Nice to have some new faces around here. Would you two like to register?" He said with a smile. "Only me, sir" Emily replied and the both of them approached the counter. The man said again, "I am Mr. Johnathon. Nice to meet you. You are?" Emily was shocked at this name, as she has heard of this name somewhere before, but couldn't remember where? Emily suddenly burst her bubble of thoughts and replied with a smile, "I am Emily. Nice to meet you too!"

Then Mr. Johnathon handed out another forum, requiring her to fill some basic information. As Emily was filling it out the forum and Linda was looking around. That's when she saw a figure come out from the changing area. At first Linda couldn't recognize the figure, but soon found out that it was Aiden! Her jaw dropped open, she was poking Emily, but she tried to ignore her, after filling out the forum quickly, she turned towards Linda and was about to complain about her act, she stopped and could not believe what she saw as well.

No one knew that Aiden goes to a gym, no wonder how he was so fit? He didn't pay attention to them and went towards Mr. Johnathon, "Sir please hand me a water bottle." As he took the water bottle and turned, seeing the two girls made him feel like them as well – shocked. Emily broke the awkward silence by greeting him, "Hey, Aiden! We meet again, haha. Didn't knew you went here as well." Aiden replied with a faint, "Oh… Hi. Uhm… Yeah, I have been coming here since a long time. The silence around here is pleasing to me."

"I understand." Emily replied quickly.
