"Hey, Aiden." Cyril said softly as he quickly dried his eyes and pretended like nothing ever happened. Aiden huffed in irritation. "What's wrong with you?" Cyril asked in a slightly irritable tone. Hearing those words Aiden lost his cool as he turned around and pushed Cyril to the door of a cubicle with a loud bang, "What's wrong with me you ask? What's wrong with you?!" Aiden bellowed.
Cyril was shocked at his behavior and pushed him back as well, yelling in reply, "That's none of you business!" His eyes welling up with tears.
Cyril must have become really weak because when he pushed him back, Aiden was had hardly moved from his position. Hearing his response and looking at his face, Aiden nodded lightly and sn.i.g.g.e.red, "Huh, then what's wrong with me is none of you business either! You wimp! Go cry in front of your parents." Aiden bolted out of the washroom in rage.
Cyril, when heard those words, clenched his fists as tears started rolling down his cheeks like a stream and he banged the door behind him in frustration.
Exams pa.s.sed by and Aiden completely ignored Cyril, not even bothering to look at him. Their summer vacations started and ended, during which their results came out and everyone started to take admission in college. On Aiden's first day in GCA, he spotted Cyril as well. He was so angry that he wanted to change his college. The last person who he wanted to meet in GCA was Cyril.
However, now he could not, admissions had been closed everywhere. All he could do was ignore and endure it.
Even in the first two college years, Cyril had challenged Aiden multiple times, which most of them Aiden had won. As they started to get famous and attract everyone'e attention, their rivalry and battles became more intense because then, it was not only between the two, but everyone else would also be judging them and of course they had to prove to them who was better. But he could still not forget the day he lost to Cyril so badly and in return was ridiculed by him.
Time flew by and looking back, Aiden felt it was absurd of him to behave like that but he could not remove the thorn from his heart which had been p.r.i.c.ked on the day, he had fought with Cyril and then ended their friends.h.i.+p.
Now... here he was, with Emily and Cyril. 'Trying' to forget the past and move on.
~End of Aiden's flashback~
After cla.s.s had finished, the three of them walked towards the archery court. Seeing Aiden and Cyril together caused a commotion between the onlookers.
"What the-" "Oh my gos.h.!.+" "I'm not blind, am I?" "They are actually together?" "What are they going to do?" "What is Emily doing with them?" "Look, they are moving towards the archery court!" Everyone present at the moment started gossiping and made their way towards the courts as well, to see what was going to unfold. "OMG... Are they going to do archery?" "Are they having a compet.i.tion, again?" They started mumbling to each other.
Sure enough, the three of them took a bow and some arrows and started to aim and shoot them together. After one shot, they paused, talked a bit, laughed and took another shot.
"My skills are totally going down! I should practice more." Emily declared after her first shot. It was a 6. "Hmm.. You are right, you should definitely gear yourself for the annual sports compet.i.tion ahead." Cyril nodded as she scored a 9. "I haven't done archery in ages, I'll totally suck." Aiden stated as he released his grip on the arrow and it shot across the field, right into the center of the target. He scored 10 points! "Haha! That must be pure luck." Aiden laughed.
Emily punched him on the arm, "Hmph! Don't try to be modest, we all know you're good at everything Mr. Perfect!" Aiden laughed at her remark. "Hey! I'm also the best." Cyril pouted. Emily chuckled at Cyril's cute behavior.
"Erm... Why are people gathered around us?" Emily muttered as she looked around. So did Aiden and Cyril. When the students realized that they were looking at them they quickly dispersed and went back to minding their own business saying, "Oh, I thought it would be something big." Yeah, they're just chatting and having fun." "Did Emily pursued them to become friends?" "Hm, I'm not sure." "Why is she trying to be a saint?" "Eh, why do you care, it is a good thing to be honest." "Ivy won't be happy about this!" "Hahaha!"
Emily shrugged, "Whatever. Let's head back to cla.s.s or we'll be late. Which cla.s.ses do you have? I have math." "Same." Cyril replied. "Ugh, history." Aiden complained. "Haha, okay then, we'll see you later after college." Emily said and headed off to cla.s.s with Cyril.
