"Hey, how long are you going to sit there staring at me?" I blinked several times and realized that I was daydreaming and the angel was talking to me.
She was standing behind the counter at the bar, drying the gla.s.ses with a towel.
"I wasn't staring at you. I was thinking. You just happened to be there in front of me," I lied through my teeth as I turned away and raised my eyebrow at the gla.s.ses.
There was no way I'd admit to having erotic dreams about her in the middle of the day. "Why are you the one doing that? Where are your helpers?" I asked pertaining to the waiters.
"Well, we're booked for an event tonight and we're kinda short on staff so I called you," Yesha answered sheepishly and I knew instantly that she wanted something from me.
It wasn't surprising but a little disappointing. Since Yesha had taken over Matt's bar a week ago, she'd never asked for my help until now regardless that I dropped by this place day after day.

"Okay. So how many additional waiters do you want me to hire?" I asked casually as I mentally computed the amount needed for additional staff but then Yesha chuckled and I lost my thoughts.
"What's so funny?" I asked and he chuckled more as he pointed at me.
"You. You're funny," she answered and I frowned. "May I know why?" I asked mockingly as my eyes settled on her lips – the lips which I had been kissing in my dreams for some time now.
"I didn't call you to make you hire additional staff," she said and my frown deepened.
"Why did you call me then? Don't tell me you missed me and want to see me badly," I added flippantly as I gave her a bored stare, though deep inside, I was waiting for her reaction. If she didn't call me to hire more staff then was it possible that she's attracted to me too?
"Of course, I miss you. I wanted to see you badly too," Yesha answered with that innocent look of hers. Her tone was placating as if she was talking to a child and I became suspicious, most especially when she suddenly handed me a piece of black cloth.
"What's this?" I asked and she smiled.
"Your uniform. I think we call it an ap.r.o.n," she added with a giggle and I felt horrified as I looked at her.
"You are seriously not asking me to wear that."
"Ah, but I'm seriously asking you to wear this. We're short on staff so kindly make yourself useful," she added as she turned to leave but I caught her arm.
"I'm an effing president of a huge corporation and you're asking me to serve drinks?" I asked incredulously and she nodded.
"You promised Jane and Matt you'd help me out. But if you're too scared to taint your precious hands by helping out mere mortals such as moi, then that's fine."
"Who the heck's scared of work?" I asked, definitely annoyed. This angel, like her sister had some guts. "For your information I work my a.s.s off fifteen to twenty hours a day," I ground out as I put on the ap.r.o.n.
"Ah yes…sorry about that comment then," Yesha countered glibly as she walked around the counter and helped me tie the strings behind me.
When she did, our hands touched and I felt electricity coming from her that I immediately took my hands away. She must have misunderstood it.
"Bear with your poor people allergy for a while," she said as she finished tying my ap.r.o.n and stepped around to look at my face. "Just pretend you're a philanthropist helping out your poor friend with business," she added with her eyes sparkling with mischief. "Just tell me when you've had enough and about to break out in hives. I have some anti-poor people allergy medicine in the cabinet."
Ha. Ha. Ha.
"Will you quit with that poor people allergy joke? Jane's the only one I allow to bully me like this," I said disapprovingly, though my mouth's already twisting into an amused slant.
"Sure, sure, Your Majesty," she replied in a singsong tone of voice as she really turned around to go to the kitchen and I smilingly followed after her.

A week pa.s.sed since I started helping out at the bar. Yesha really refused my offer to lend the business additional capital for additional helpers. I knew she needed it since Matt and Jane were out of reach at the moment and Yesha didn't have the funds to hire helpers instead.
It wasn't about pity this time for me. G.o.d knew the bar – seeing how popular it had quickly become with the crowd gathering there every night was worth the capital injection.
The businessman in me knew that giving money to the bar was a good investment but Yesha refused my offer since this wasn't her business. She was just there to supervise the place while the couple was gone.
Perplexed, I watched her slave over the bar tending – serving work night after night. Though not hiring help meant I was helping out each night too, I could still see her get weary after closing hours.
She looked very tired and yet she still smiled, and it was something which drew me to her more and more. The more I tried to find flaws on her, the more I couldn't see anything and I ended up falling for her further.
As much as I hated to admit it, I, Adam Kingsley, who had vowed not to dally with anyone beneath my rank and money, was beginning to think of a future with her. I was already resigning to the fact that fate had f.u.c.ked me up, making me eat my words. But there was no helping it I thought as I gazed at her.
Even though I knew that if she agreed to a personal partners.h.i.+p with me, the thought that it might be because of my money would still hover us, I didn't care anymore at this point. I just wanted her. If she wanted my money then she could have it. f.u.c.k, but I prided myself at being good at making lots of it anyway. She could spend as much as she wanted as long as she's mine.
"Oh, my back," I heard her groan as she sat wearily on one of the chairs.
It was already the wee hours of the morning after another night of endless serving of drinks and exchanging of idle chitchat.
"I think I broke it this time," she continued as she s.h.i.+fted on her seat and I chuckled.
"Do you want a ma.s.sage?" I asked casually and she lifted her heavy lids to meet my bold stare as she raised her hand.
"Yes please with cherries on top," she answered softly as she groaned again and I laughed. "Why don't you change your clothes first? I'll give you a ma.s.sage after that," I offered.
I was in the mood to spoil her. She looked too adorable sitting like an exhausted kitten in front of me. Besides, after acquiring yet another company earlier, I was feeling very accommodating.
"Okay," she answered in a soft sigh as she pushed herself up and trudged towards the locker room.
The regular workers had long since gone and there were only the two of us here. As I waited for her to emerge, I sat on the chair and thought of plans. Yesha and I had been in very good terms and I could say we're already close. I could tell she liked me too, and I smiled smugly knowing that I could make her mine very soon.
Or so I thought…
