"Hey, Darwin, would you miss me if I'm gone?" Ann asks

"...Yes..."Darwin is shocked that a 4-year-old would this type of question.

"I'll miss you too!" Ann replies.

The park is not too far from their house, so it is only a ten-minute walk to the park.

When they got to the park, Darwin wants to head over to the playground to play on the swings, but he is too cool to say it in front of his little sister.

"I want to go over to the swings and play!" Ann pulls Darwin's clothes attempting to pull Darwin over to the swings.

"Okay...Fine...But I got first!" Darwin acts like he is not interested in it, but he did say he wants to play first.

"Okay!" Ann didn't care who goes first, there are not only swings in there anyways.

Ann couldn't wait to play on the swings, so she pulls Darwin's hand and tries to run with Darwin. However, Darwin still wants to act cool in front of his little sister, so he resists himself from wanting to speed up.

"Hurry!" Ann said, "Before the swings are all taken!"

"It's fine, no one is childish like you! Play with swings." Darwin replies.

When they got to the swings, only one was left to ride.

"..."Ann looks at Darwin with a delicate and touching face; it is like she is saying she wants to play first.

"No...You promised me that you let me play first, no backsies!" Darwin chooses to ignore the look on Ann's face and went straight to the swings.

Just when Darwin is about to sit on the swings, a group of children walks toward the swings and shoves Darwin to the side. The push was so sudden that Darwin was not ready for it, he loses his balance and trip on himself and falls onto the floor causing him to burse his elbow.

"What are you guys doing!" Darwin cries. Darwin has never been to a fight before and the fall makes him injured himself; that's something Darwin has never experienced in his life before.

A kid that looks like a bully take a lick on his popsicle and said,

"This is my swing! Who are you!"

"What do you mean? Do you own it?" Darwin didn't know what that kid was talking about.

"HAHAHAHA!" All the kid that came with the kid laugh, then the leader of the group said,

"Yeah! I own it! What you going to do about it!"

"...No...You don't own anything in here...It's the..." Darwin's voice is getting lower and lower until the point he couldn't hear himself talk.

"What! I can't hear you! You little punk!" the kid shout and the others in the playground heard and all laugh.

"Hey, you! You fat little boy, you can't do that! You are hurting people! And plus we come here first! You are a meanie!" Ann then steps in front of Darwin and scream, trying to protect his brother.

"What you say to me!"The leader kid gets mad and shouts back to Ann.

"I said you are a meanie! Meanie! Meanie! Meanie!" Ann repeats herself.

"NO! IM NOT A MEANIE! NO ONE CAN ALL ME MEANIE!" The kid is furious, then process to push Ann to the floor to vent his anger. Unfortunately, Ann is shorter than the kid and she ducks down when she sees him coming toward her with both of his arm sticking out.

Right after the kid misses his push, he then tries another push. However, it looks like Ann knows her way to fights people. After the kid misses the push, she then sticks her both of her arms out attempting to push the kid's leg, but clearly, she is not strong enough. Therefore, she waited for that kid to turn around to do the second push, she pushes the leg that is standing on the ground for keeping the balance, while the other one stepping up to look for a place to stand to adjust the position.

That push messes up the kid's balance and falls on the floor beside Darwin, right after that happen Ann throw punches on the kid's face trying to beat the kid up. However, Ann was outnumbered, the rest of the group rushes toward Ann and starting to tear her apart from the leader kid. Eventually, the group of kid wins the battle, but it is already too late to play on the swings when everyone in the playground saw they bullied a little girl. They left afterward.

Darwin was completely ignored by everyone that is involved, but not Ann. Even though she was beaten by the boy badly, she still running toward to Darwin and ask him how is he doing,

"Are you okay?"

"I'm fine..." Darwin loses words to speak, he thought Ann was an innocent little girl. He would never have thought she would fight the boys that are way older than she is. If it was him, he would of not have done the same thing.

"Let's play on the swings! It's empty now! So I can play with you at the same time!" Ann smiles and pulling Darwin up from the floor.

"..." Darwin starts sobbing up.

"Darwin why you crying? You are a crybaby!" Ann laughs trying to make Darwin laugh too.

"No! I'm not crying!" Darwin acts like he didn't cry, but inside he is starting to love his little sister.

They both than spend a good amount of time on the swings and with each other before going home.

After they got home, mom and dad are still not home yet. Not until it's late at night, that when Ann told mom that one her of her eye is hurting. After knowing what happened today at the park, the parents rush Ann to the hospital and that's when the doctor informs both parents that Ann's cornea had damaged and was late to the hospital causing her eye to lose vision forever.

"NO!!!!! She can't lose her vision! She is so little!!!! Why!!!" Darwin's mom cries out loud in the doctor's office.

"What can we do now to fix my daughter's eye?" Darwin's dad still has his cool and asks.

"We need a suitable cornea for her to immediately!" Doctor said.

"Then let's do it! I'll pay any amount of money if you can help my daughter!" Darwin's mom cries.

"I'm sorry, I know how you feel mam', but we don't have any suitable cornea for your daughter at the moment!" Doctor sigh.

"WHAT! This G.o.d d.a.m.n big hospital doesn't have any cornea for my daughter!?" Dad screams with disappointment.

"I'm sorry to inform you, yes...It is very hard to find a donor that is suitable for surgery for your daughter." Doctor said.

"Why?!! Oh, my G.o.d!!" Darwin's mom cries even harder wis.h.i.+ng G.o.d can hear her despair.

Ann looks at mom then dad and then finally lands on Darwin's eye, mouthing,

"I'm fine, don't worry" Then puts a big smile on her face letting Darwin knows that she is okay.

Darwin sees the smile, then he tightens his fist, then with a straight face and said,

"I can donate mine!" even though he doesn't know what the adult is talking about, but he knows they need someone to give something to his sister in order to cure her.

"What!" The three adult looks at him with shocked, disbelieve.

"Are you sure?" The doctor did not ask the parents instead he chooses to ask the little brave kid.

"Yes, anything!" Darwin said with certainty on his face.

"You will lose your eye! Now, do you still want to do it?" The doctor continues to ask Darwin.

"..." First silence, then, "YES!"

"Are you out of your mind! You are going to lose your eye, which means you can't see anymore!" Darwin'mom asks.

"NO MOM! Ann has already protected me once! It's now my turn to protect her!" Darwin yells at his mom, then looks at his dad.

"Okay, son, you are a man now! You are your sister's hero!" Darwin's dad said with appreciation and tears in his eyes, the two kids are all his child, no matter who loses their eye he will feel extremely sad.

"But..."

Darwin's dad looks at his wife to stop her, then turn around and asks the doctor,

"When can we start?"

"Now! The soon the better!" Doctor pulling out a form for the parent to sign for allowing their kids to transplant the kid's cornea.

It was a successful surgery. Ann was able to see things with the almost blind eye.

"You are in my eye now!" Ann smiles at Darwin.

"I'm in your eye..." Darwin cries.
