Welcome To Arcana 16 The Hostel

He was overdue for a proper bath or shower. He had to constantly stop and ask for the location of the hostel. He didn't want to use the system for something so plebeian. He finally got to the hostel. There were a bunch of level ones, twos, and threes going in and out of the Hostel.

This made him instantly uncomfortable, but he wanted a bed to sleep on. As he walked into the hostel somebody random b.u.mped into him, "Watch it, a.s.shole...what the f.u.c.k, you smell like s.h.i.+t!?"

He ignored the young lad and moved on. He found a girl probably late teens standing sitting behind a desk. Lv 3 Tiana, Indifferent nature. She gave him her best smile, with her nose twitching slightly, "How can I help you today?"

"I need a room with food, and preferable a bath or shower included."

"Oh, thank G.o.d." She gave him an embarra.s.sed look, and cleared her throat, "I mean, of course. I have the perfect room for you. That will be seventy-five dollars per day."

"I was told it was fifty."

"You need a private room for that…uuhm, unique smell."

Now he was starting to get agitated.

"It will be communal by nature, with shared bathrooms and kitchen area. You will come down here for the food. Meals are served once a day. Your room doesn't have air conditioning but the communal resting area does."

Radley nodded his head and gave her the money, "What is your name?"

"Radley."

She went to the back of the room and got a key, "Here you go. Go up the stairs over there. It will be in the third-floor, room three zero five. The final room in the hallway."

Radley nodded one last time and headed up the stairs.

He found the room and went in. It was deserted. Either he was the only one here or everyone else was busy.

He went into his private room and dropped his bag. He looked for the showers. He found it down to the right side. He went in and saw a naked girl standing there. For some reason, Radley had no reaction. Like he was impotent or something.

She was young. Late teens, maybe even early twenties. She had red hair and green eyes. She had a naive looking face. Her personality suggested as much. Naïve Nature. Level 2. Her name was Ruby. She was short and really amazingly built.

The girl looked at him, and saw he wasn't even responding, "What the h.e.l.l is wrong with you?!"

Radley ignored her and started to remove his gear. This freaked the girl more, "Jesus Christ, have some common courtesy."

He turned and looked at her, "Sorry, I have learned common curtesy means about as much as a fart in the wind. I don't have any particular hang-ups about nudity. So, if it makes you uncomfortable that is your problem. I just really need a shower."

"What the f.u.c.k!?"

Radley already started to shower. She scoffed and stormed out of the Bathroom.

He showered for two hours long trying to get the smell out of his gear but even after all that, there was still a faint lingering smell. Well, at least he was clean.

He went to his room and opened a window. He hanged his stuff out the window. He plopped onto the bed and went to sleep. He slept really hard. Like the living dead.

He was awoken several hours later by a banging on his door. He stood up groggily and went to the door. He opened it to find a bunch of girls in front of his room. They went off on a tirade. He gave them one look and closed the door. Ruby placed her foot in the doorway, "How dare you close the door in our faces!"

"I am tired, could we please do this tomorrow?"

"No, we will do this now. Ever heard of invasion human privacy."

"You are currently living in a hostel. That's kind of par for the course, but if you want to go off on that tangent then what you are doing now is, invasion of human privacy and domestic disturbance. Now, could you please remove your foot?"

"No, I will not! We will not!"

"I am going to bed now."

He walked to his bed and fell on it. The girls went ballistic. He took out his knife and cut off small pieces off his bag to make simple earplugs. He went back to sleep. One of the girls grabbed him by the leg and started to pull him, "Girls you really want to incur the wrath of a magister? Cause what you are doing is considered a.s.sault."

They all went silent. The girl who grabbed his leg let go, "Good night ladies. If you are still the same by tomorrow, then we can talk it out, but as you are now you guys are completely irrational."

He closed the door on them and went back to bed. One of the girls chimed up, "That man is too cool-headed. I don't like him."

Ruby pondered for a moment, "Maybe he was just really tired."

"You aren't seriously going to let what he did go!?"

"Well, no…but did you guys see him. He looked completely out of it…and he did kind of smell bad before he went into the showers, perhaps he was just desperately trying to get clean?"

"Oh my G.o.d, are you defending him!? After all this!?"

"I am just saying perhaps we should leave it till tomorrow as he suggested."

The girls shook their heads but eventually agreed.

Radley awoke bright as suns.h.i.+ne the next morning. Man, he hasn't slept like that in years. He remembered the events of the previous night…c.r.a.p. Guess he will have to face the music. He got into his gear that actually smelled a whole lot better now. Not perfect but better. He went out the door only to walk into Ruby. Ruby looked at him and said, "I am sorry about yesterday night. We had a few drinks and as you can see one thing led to another, but still what you did was inappropriate."

"As I said yesterday I don't…wait, are you even allowed to drink?"

"I am eighteen. So yeah, even so, there is no age restriction in this country with regards to alcohol."

"Wow, how is this place any different from the seventies, where drinking and drugs were a common thing."

"Well, that's your problem. I am going to the bathroom now. Please, give me some privacy."

"I am leaving in any case. I just needed the shower and rest."

He left the hall after that statement.
