Walking out of the inn, I saw that people were starting to get stuff ready to rebuild all the destruction that occurred within the last couple of hours. I looked around to see which area had the least bit of work done. This was of course the exploded area as the house just needed some simple fixes to it.

Heading towards the crater I walked over to someone and asked them how I could help. They pointed out a few things for me to do so I followed lead and helped.

A good couple of hours pa.s.sed as I did multiple things to help. I occasionally used magic to help but I wanted to try and increase my physical stats a bit once again. I also counted this as my morning training as it was tiring, and I didn't want to do anything else after.

Luckily my hard work did pay off and I got a few stat points (2 in strength and 1 in const.i.tution).

After that it was already 2:45 Pm and I already used up most of the two days I was promised from the old guy, though I don't know if I get any more now because the inn keeper seems to be the new leader… Yeah, I probably do.

Heading back to the inn for a quick snack, I saw that Eric was helping 3 other people who looked to be adventurers or something. One person was wearing a set of full plate male armor and a giant sword on their back. The second person was very wizard looking as they had a staff in one hand and a wizard hat on. Though surprisingly they didn't have wizard robes or anything, just the hat. Finally, the last person must've been another fighter or something as they had bits of half-plate armor on them with a mace and s.h.i.+eld as well.

They appeared to be having an argument with Eric about something as the heavily armored one kept raising their hands up as if angry. Eric as well seemed to be very stressed and worried about them from what I could see on his face from a distance.

Walking up to them, Eric saw me, and his face immediately brightened up as he waved me over and said something to the 3 people. Whatever it was, caused them to turn my way.

The original person who was wearing full plate was the first I noticed. Contrary to my predictions of a very buff guy, it was instead a very buff gal whose face was seething with rage. The second person, the person wearing the wonderful wizard hat, was a guy and seemed use to the situation he was in and very tired. Finally, the last person seemed like a weird hybrid of the first and second person but with 1 singular difference being the symbol hanging for his neck.

"There you are Leo, can you come over here and help me please?" pleaded Eric

I walked over and stood right next to him before turning back to the 3.

"So, what's the problem?"

The girl's face seemed to seethe even more with rage upon hearing me say this for whatever the reason.

"ARE YOU THE PERSON WHO THREATENED TO KILL THE OLD MAYOR?!?" She screamed loudly

"No? I talked to him yesterday but that was about it."

"WELL WE GOT AN URGENT MESSAGE FROM THE MAYOR SAYING THAT SOMEONE NEW IN TOWN ATTEMPTED TO KILL HIM AND WE CAME AS QUICK AS WE COULD. NOW THIS DIMWIT OVER HERE IS SAYING THAT HE LIED TO US AND THAT WE WASTED ALL OUR MONEY FOR THE TELEPORATION SPELL JUST TO SEND US HERE!?"

At this point I had to check if my ears were bleeding yet as she just kept getting louder and louder. Her two companions on the other hand just seemed to get more and more tired with every word she spoke.

"Karen" The wizard exhaustingly asked, "Can we just start making our way back?

"NO" She screamed back

The guy wearing some plate rubbed the bridge of his nose, "Look, you were the one that decided to use up all of our money on getting someone to teleport us here just because the reward said, and I quote, "anything you want." If you even took a second to question it and run it by the receptionist, we wouldn't be having this problem."

She turned quickly to face the person in half-plate with her facing almost glowing red in rage and her mouth almost frothing.

She was about to yell again but before she could, the wizard and I cast a spell at the same time.

"Sleep" We spoke in the ancient language.

Immediately, she stopped what she was doing before suddenly falling forwards to the half-plate guy who luckily moved out of her way.

"Well, now that that's taken care of," The wizard turned to me and bowed slightly, "I'm sorry about that, you're friend here and us have been trying to convince her to calm down so that we could start making our way back to the kingdom but she just refused to listen to logic."

The other guy just nodded.

"I'm Kendrick by the way. It's nice to meet a fellow wizard!" He stretched out his hand for a handshake.

I shook his hand and replied back with, "Names Leo. Sorry to say though but I'm not actually a wizard."

The half-plate guy's eyes lit up before he quickly asked, "Are you a Cleric or Paladin then?"

Shaking my head, I said, "Not that either. I'm an Arcane Archer!"

They tilted their heads in question.

"A what now?"

Eric seemed to be questioning it too as he looked deep in thought upon me saying this.

"A ranger?"

"Ooooh!" They all responded with at the same time.

"My bad" Said the half-plate, "My name is Kaleb and I'm a cleric under the G.o.d Aetius. Our friend here is Pyra but I don't think she'll ever tell you that without yelling. She's a knight only in t.i.tle sadly."

We continued talking for a bit and Eric's face seemed to hold nothing but relief that his problem was over and that he could get back to doing his actual job. Making our way to a table, we sat down while Kaleb and Kendrick ordered some food. Their friend continued to sleep (and drool if I might add) on the floor.

At one point in our conversation while waiting for the food, Kendrick asked me about how I came to be in this town and save them as Eric said. I told them what happened yesterday and made sure to explain in detail what happened with the old mayor.

They laughed their b.u.t.ts off upon hearing about it and nodded their heads in understanding as to why the request was so urgent. The mayor didn't like having his ego/pride ruined.

Finis.h.i.+ng up my tale, Pyra finally woke up and lazily walked over to the table and sat down next to me.

"What's for breakfast…" She asked in a very tired voice.

We all laughed except for Pyra who was just looking at us in confusion.

"Say Eric." Asked Kaleb, "How do you feel about joining us on our way back to the kingdom? You said you got two days to spend here and that your first day is already up so if we stay the night at this inn, we could work together to make sure we get home safely."

I questioned it for a bit. I didn't really have a plan except to explore the world and have fun but if I joined this, could give me something to do.

"I'll think about it and answer in the morning. That okay?"

Kaleb turned to Kendrick and whispered a couple of things before turning back to me.

"We could do that." Said Kaleb

Kendrick just nodded in agreement before whispering to me, "Please do come, I would like to talk to you about how you cast magic and stuff like me instead of constantly hearing how Kaleb here just asks G.o.d for power and what not."

Kaleb punched Kendrick even though he tried saying it quietly only for me to hear.

We all started to laugh except Pyra once again who was now also somehow gnawing on a loaf of bread.

Food eventually came and once they finished that up, they dragged Pyra out of the inn who was finally remembering what happened before she was forced asleep. They said they had to make some money to pay for a room at the inn. At which point upon saying this, Eric tapped me on the shoulder and asked me to pay for them.

I attempted to dig out any money that I had but only pulled out some crumbs from the elven bread that I ate on my way to town.

After a little dispute between us, I tried asking if he would be ok with me enchanting something for him in which he replied with a hearty laugh before then staying silent for a couple seconds and then whispering, "If you could do the impossible, then that would pay for the next million meals…"

I smiled, "Well you're in luck cause it's your lucky day then!"
